Sleek & Stylish!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always used HP computers and laptops and when I broke my last one, I knew I had to get another HP. The silver is so stunning and the layout itself is gorgeous! This 2-in-1 is light, accessible, and versatile all the way around! Set-up was incredibly easy and fast. Although I don't use 2-in-1s much, this one is definitely great for the price. I feel like you get a lot for the price of this laptop. Also, the touchscreen is a plus. My previous HP was a touchscreen and there is no way I'd ever go back to a traditional laptop after these. Overall, definitely a laptop to spend your money on! :)

Good performance, questionable build quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TL;DR Upgrade the storage and you'll have a pretty capable, very portable machine with okay battery life. It's a decent laptop for a student on a budget (make sure you account for the cost of an SSD). Just don't expect it to last more than 2-3 years. I have owned this laptop for about four months. I would not recommend buying it without upgrading the storage to an SSD. I swapped the HDD out the day I bought it and there was still a noticeable increase in speed even though I did not do any major tasks with the stock drive. Regarding performance, I have not had any issues running half a dozen tabs on Chrome with Word, OneNote, Spotify, and AirDroid running. I have had no issues with stability. No blue screens or frozen programs. It doesn't get very hot either, although that fan can push a lot of air if you're doing heavy workloads (but it's not loud). The biggest concern is the build quality. The entire device feels flimsy. Press down next to the trackpad, and it will depress a couple millimeters. Press in the middle of the bottom and you can feel it give too. The entire chassis will flex with almost no pressure and the display flexes more than any other part of the laptop. The entire laptop feels like they used plastic that is just a little bit too thin. There are also fairly large gaps around each key and the trackpad. Keep a can of compressed air handy, because you will get dust and lint stuck around the keys. At least you can blow the dust out of the keyboard, though. I'm looking at you, Apple. Also, the speaker cutouts above the keyboard gets dust stuck in it too. It always will. They have this weird geometric design for the speaker cutouts and just helps dust get stuck in there more easily because it acts like a funnel. The sloping edges on both sides of the keyboard also funnel dust (and the occasional beard hair) into the keyboard. The hinges are slightly looser than when I bought it, but I haven't had any problems with it wobbling severely. I may just need to tighten a few screws. The keyboard is relatively comfortable to type on. There is decent key travel. If you are sick of lighter laptops having almost no discernible travel, this will make you much happier. It is a little too springy for my taste, but that is better than too mushy. I can type pretty fast on it. It's actually great for taking notes at school, although it is a little loud (not as loud as the newer MacBook keyboards, though). The build quality strikes again, though. The keys wobble a lot. Like, a whole lot. They feel very loose. I don't notice is too much when I am typing quickly, but it does annoy me. The slightly stiffer response of the keys helps to alleviate some of the annoyance from this, since there is no confusion about whether or not you actually hit the key. I did notice that some of the labels on the keys were slightly faded right out of the box. I am expecting those to be worn off within the first year. Several of the keys already have wear spots on them already, but I am in a major that requires a significant amount of writing. I would not expect that most users would see this level of wear in the first four months. With battery saver enabled, I average 5-6 hours of battery life. Never believe the manufacturer's battery rating for any laptop. Those numbers are almost always impossible to achieve. Look up third party reviews. One annoying thing is that even with a consistent workload, the estimated time remaining for the battery is never accurate. It usually says 4-4.5 hours, but I can get closer to 6 if I'm not doing any heavy browsing, have the brightness low, and stick to note-taking or using Word/Google Docs, especially if there are no programs running in the background (like a VPN). It's better than the estimated time being higher than the amount of time you actually have, but still a little annoying. If I'm nitpicking, the top-case shows a lot of smudges and fingerprints. But, the size is perfect. It fits in my backpack easily with all my textbooks and is small enough to fit on a desk or crowded table during class without the keyboard feeling cramped.

It’s alright
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im a college student and I’ve used this laptop for about 6 months now. It gets the job done.... most of the time.... it’s slow and it DEFINITELY has issues staying connected/connecting to WiFi. When you charge it, the little fan is SUPER LOUD to the point I actually get looks in class by the people around me. It takes forever to update as well but you get what you pay for. Screen is sensitive, accidentally bumped it too hard and the screen cracked and the touchscreen stopped working so I had to pay to get it fixed. Again, it gets the job done but don’t expect high speed actions and great WiFi connectivity. Do expect loud fans so charge it at home.

Great when it’s plugged in
