Good experience for less money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased via the BB website on Black Friday. Great laptop for $500. Although I would not purchase at $800 because the build quality is mediocre, for this price it was well worth it. All aluminum body barring the bottom. Some complain but it helps with weight. Screen, although not accurate looking at RGB numbers, most will not be able to see the difference. There is a little screen bleed around the edges if you have a black screen, but this is common with lower end displays - It's definitely not a Samsung display. With a 3-year extended warranty from HP for $149, I decided to take the risk.

ALMOST Perfect machine....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love my new laptop. Its lightweight, fast and sleek. If I could change one thing, it would be the keyboard. I appreciate the backlight keys (at night) but during the daylight hours, when I use it the most, the letters, numbers and symbols are hard to read. They are very light against the silver background. That is my ONLY complaint. Still deserves 5 stars, because 4 1/2 is not available! Other than that, I'm in love.

Really Great Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. At first the fan was really loud, but uninstalling HP cool sense seemed to have fixed that. As far as the negative reviews about the sound not working, I believe that could be due to a windows update that broke the sound driver. Touchscreen is really nice and I love the 2 in 1 options. The startup is really fast. Overall this is a great laptop, especially for the black Friday deal.

Its eh
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its not a bad computer its just not good either. The fan sucks. Its extremely loud at almost all times if the computer is in a position it deems “unsatisfactory” and all the system updates hp does to it doesnt work. And sending it in to hp doesnt work either bc they wont do anything (as ik from experience). The battery begins to suck after a while. Ive only had it for a little over a year and it wont charge to 100% anymore. and the speaker is absolute trash. It constantly sticks and freezes and makes weird noises. And theres moments where it doesnt play loud enough, and times it seems that wont just quiet down. All in all though, its not completely horrible. It runs pretty well, the touch screen is amazing honestly, and if you download games like runescape (like i do) itll run it and not overheat. So its good for a student if you just need a decent laptop that can get you through college.

Replacement for Lenovo Flex
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am absolutely floored by this laptop. It was a choice of an HP Envy 360 with in i7 processor or another HP Pavilion 360 with an i3 processor. They both had 500gb and up. Except they were on SATA. The solid slate drive won me over. The widescreen is awesome. So are the gigantic letters on the backlit keyboard. I was impressed with the fingerprint scanner as well as the speakers. This computer has already beaten my slow Lenove flex and I'm happy I spent the extra bucks.

Mostly good, so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.(After 7.5 months) I bought this in an emergency after my lenovo stopped connecting to the internet and I needed to use a laptop for schoolwork. It has worked well for the past 7.5 months, but all of a sudden the cooling fan has developed a small rattle. I contacted HP and they're taking it in for repair so we'll see how that goes. This one does what I need it to do and I haven't really had any other issues or complaints about it. If it weren't for the cooling fan rattle, I'd have given this review 5 stars. I really wish HP or other manufacturers had a "loaner" program for when you have to send in laptops for repair, as I can't be without one for 2-3 weeks if it takes that long. I have schoolwork that I have to do on a daily basis, so I might need to find a way to buy one and return it later while this one is getting repaired. Only other wish: backlit keyboard, as that would make nighttime use much easier. My lenovo had that, and I miss it for when I need to hit random keys like volume, brightness, etc.

Excellent and Affordable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a Mac user, but needed a Windows machine for some specialized DSP development software. The x360 convertible is the perfect fit for my needs: plenty fast enough, perfect size (nearly identical to a MacBook Air), expandable (I added a SATA SSD to increase disk space), brilliant screen, and passable keyboard (a little mushy, but not to the point of being annoying). I am getting used to the convertible feature by flipping the screen and using it as a tablet -- which so far, I have been able to use during takeoff and landing on flights. Not sure what the "small" vs. "large" FAA requirements are for computers, but I've not been asked to turn it off yet! Highly recommended for nearly any application where plenty of power in a compact package is needed.

Love this laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a relatively inexpensive laptop for business and personal use, and after a reasonable amount of research opted for this HP model. I bought the Bamboo stylus as well, which is excellent with the Ink app. Overall i would say this is the best laptop I have ever purchased, although through work many have been provided for me. 8 meg RAM is fine for office use (4 Meg not). The backlit keyboard has been really useful, and the convertible option is great but i haven't flipped the screen much. Highly recommended all in all.

Great but with few errors

Not a fan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop because of all the great reviews. However, I was unlucky and received a defective laptop. After 29 days of having this laptop, something told me to do my best to return this laptop and get another. I was well past the 15 day return policy but something told me to get rid of this thing! I am not usually one to purchase HP laptops because the ones my family has had in the past have always overheated. Well, this laptop came out the box overheating. The fan was super loud! It is a shame because I really enjoyed the look and feel of this laptop but I would much rather stay on the safe side and went with something that seems to be a better fit for my needs.

Nice laptop / Lots of display glare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice and zippy little laptop, even with all the extra stuff that HP throws on their machines. Did have a problem with the glare off the screen in any kind of outdoor lighting condition. I had troubles sitting next to a window with sunlight streaming in. Also was not a big fan of silver keys with white lettering. If the backlighting is turned on in a well lit environment, you will have problems picking out the keys. In a dim environment, the backlighting is perfect. Also, the backlighting didn't appear to be automatic. Most other laptops, the backlighting would turn on as soon as you started typing. This HP was either on or off. Also loved the tiny power supply. Would be better if it were USB-C, but for the $$, this is an excellent machine.

Really Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is really great for students, like myself, performs well with that i5 chip, no multi-tasking lag with that 8gb of ram, and fast loading with that SSD. Battery life is ok, I get around average of 5 hours of battery, 6 at most. My only complaint is that the touch screens performs unpredictably weird at times.

Good computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer is great, the only problem I have is that I'm not up to par on the new operating systems and the salesman oversold windows 10 that is causing alot of problems. I would have went a different route if he had told me about it.

OK Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually love HP products, my previous laptop was HP and I got great usage out of it. However, this is the first time I've been disappointed with my HP product. The hinges aren't great and the battery life is even worse. It only lasts about 6-7 hours and I'm immediately back on the charger. I spend much of my time with this laptop hooked up. If you need it for school, which I did, it's fine if you don't travel to many classes at a time. If you're like me, who needs a great battery life to survive, I would not get this laptop.
