Just started using this brand new laptop & found out the built in microphone doesn’t work. Now it has to be sent in and will take two weeks to repair! Other than that it’s OK.

    Amazing Laptop 2 in 1

This laptop is great for people doing photography and for people that want to be able to edit their pictures on the screen instead of using the mouse. This laptop is probably the best thing I've owned. I love the touch screen, the way its so thin, and how it turns into a tablet and you can download apps like it was a phone is great. The quality of my pictures and the way I can edit them is phenomenal.

    Useful Little Laptop

I bought this laptop a few months ago for a bargain (Black Friday sale). It is the perfect size, not too big and not too bulky. It is fast which is great for school work. I have yet to use it in tablet mode, but the touch screen is great. I have some games on it that run well too. Even with games and other programs it still has space available, which I was worried about when I bought it. My only complaint about this laptop is that a few weeks ago the fan started getting LOUD. It’s not affecting performance, but it can get distracting when I’m using it in class. The noise usually stops after a while (and by this I mean hours of use), but it’s still a bit annoying. Despite the fan noise, it is an overall good, useful, little laptop.

    Pretty decent for the price

Pros: This is a pretty good laptop at a good price, especially for a 2-in-1. It's fast, reliable, with a quick boot-up. It looks and feels quality too; the keyboard feels really nice and comfortable, and the gold lid definitely makes it stand out. I will say that I would like it more if the whole thing were gold rather than just the lid, as it looks a little tacky with the gold and silver together. I also appreciate the useful face unlocking feature that I've never had before. The display is very sharp and colorful. Cons: The battery life isn't great compared to laptops I've used in the past (mostly Lenovos). I usually get about 5-6 hours on this with light web browsing or taking notes in class, and much less with video streaming. I've also noticed the fan can be pretty loud and seems to run even when I'm not doing much. It's heavier than other laptops I've had, like my previous 14 inch HP Elitebook and Lenovo Yoga (though by no means would I call it a heavy laptop). I've also had occasional issues with the speakers - sometimes they get randomly really quiet and muffled, even on the highest volume setting. Restarting the laptop solves the issue for me. I also wish this laptop could go brighter, as it can be a bit dim even on the highest setting, especially when I'm in bright lighting that causes more screen glare. Overall, it's a good value laptop and suits my needs. The biggest issue is that I wish the battery life was better so I could last a whole day of classes/work without having to carry a charger around everywhere.

    Great work PC

Personally I have an iMac and a MacBook Pro that I typically use. However, I work from home now and several programs I use are very limited on Macs or do not function correctly so I made the decision to purchase a PC. I purchased another HP with a bigger screen and it also had the numeric keypad but I honestly hated it so I returned it and began looking for something similar to my MacBook Pro as far as size and layout and came across this laptop. It is practically the same size and layout which was perfect. It’s really fast, lightweight (perfect for frequent travelers like myself), easy to use (still learning windows 10), and the gold top gives it a 10 in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this laptop!

    Good for College

Pros: This PC is very good for its price. Its no monster but it works. One of the best things of this PC is its speed. Startup from a shut down takes about 6 seconds and its all ready to go. The SSD really helps with starting up apps or programs. The laptop also feels really nice and looks great. It can run videos in very high quality. Its a perfect PC for school. I don't use the touchscreen much so I really have no input on that. The touch pad works fine but my it gets sweaty easily. I think thats just a me problem though. Cons: The fan. It sucks. Its loud. The PC has 8 GB of RAM but it tends to overheat a lot. Once the CPU and Memory hit about 60% it gets decently loud, and more than its way too loud. Another bad thing is the built in mic. Its located near the fan so it picks up all the noise. Its a low quality mic too. The battery life is not as good as I thought, especially when running a lot or processes. I average 3-4 hours when multitasking with a lot of things. I get 6-7 hours with less processes. Note: THIS IS NOT A GAMING PC. It won't run most games. Its not intended for gaming. Overall, a pretty good PC for its price. Its best use is for school or casual at home things.

    Great Product

First off, I'm not a computer guru in any way. However, I will say, that this computer is blazing fast on start up or waking up from "sleep" mode and has great graphics and TONS of different features for personal customization that I am just scratching the surface of. I purchased this along with the 'Bamboo' digital pen. I've never owned a laptop or computer that I could write on and draw on digitally and it is really awesome to me. It took me a little while to get used to the writing part on the screen, but it's almost as if the pen gets to know your pen pressure and adjusts to it over time. As far as multi tasking, this is hands down the best computer I've owned when it comes to it. You can switch from 3 open edge pages, right over to your e-mail, documents, or skype and other applications within seconds with no lapse in time. Awesome feature is that you can fold it right on itself to go in to tablet mode. The backlit keyboard is awesome and there's also a key to turn it off to save power or be more subtle. Speakers are pretty good for a laptop/tablet. Overall I think it's a great buy for the price and I recommend it for college students especially and get the bamboo pen. I'm still learning all the ins and outs of windows 10 and I learn something new every day haha. Hope this review helped... also the touch screen is great for scrolling pages while reading articles, etc. If you decide in this one, enjoy! I've had it for about 2 weeks and I'm very happy with my decision and reviews helped my decision as well.

    Best Laptop for the Price

For the past few months I have been researching hundreds of laptops, trying to find the best one for me. This laptop really stood out to me, not only are the specs great, the design is beautiful too. With a 128gb SSD, 8gb of ram, and Intel I5 8250U processor, as long as you have a decent internet speed you will never have the frustration that comes with most laptops. I really hope everyone reading this considers buying this laptop, no regrets.

Nice machine. Lightweight, functional, and easy set up. Thanks Geek Squad! Have not experienced any of the negative things mentioned in some other reviews. Bought in May, so I can't speak to long term reliability yet. (Thus, the 4 stars.) I would buy this again.

    Sleek, Innovative and Fun

This will be a thorough review of the laptop based on setup and being fresh out of the box. Choosing the Laptop: After browsing around at the many other laptops at Best Buy, this one was the most appealing to me in my price range. I first researched online before going into the actual store so I would not be totally lost on which type of laptop I wanted to buy and so the salesperson would not talk me into something I do not want. I recommend researching online prior to going in since it may save some time when making a selection. The Laptop: This pretty little thing is sleek and smooth! The overall appearance is what attracted me to this HP versus the others. It is not bulky so its perfect for travelling. It is a 2 in 1 which takes some getting use to if you want to use that feature. The HD quality is amazing. The setup is SUPER EASY, if you are not interested in something, it is easy to skip and move on to the next thing. The desktop screen is not cluttered with apps and programs you do not use or care about and the few that are there like Netflix and Dropbox can be removed from the taskbar. The speed is great while I was downloading several programs ( i am a computer science major) so I need to be able to multitask with everything accordingly. So far no complaints about this laptop. It is a major upgrade from what I had which was a bulky Gateway that I bought in 2013. The 360 feature is nice for multi-way uses. I have not tested out the most important thing which is battery life. No cons for the setup process. I was able to get it setup in a short time frame. My favorite things about this laptop are the features, its lightweight, the overall look and feel of the laptop, the speed, the display. One thing that I hope will be improved for laptops in this class is more storage space for the SSD. You can add an SD card but it would be amazing to get 1TB on this size laptop.

    Great Laptop

This laptop is excellent! I read some reviews that it’s very noisy and it gets hot. After the Windows 10 installation, I tested it by playing a Facebook game and this laptop got hot too fast and the fan was noisy. I got worried and was ready to return it but I decided to reboot and when it restarted, it installed a few more items. Since then, the heat and noise were considerably reduced and I couldn’t be happier. This is a very fast laptop and it takes only 10 seconds to start. Have not a laptop this fast and I was an IT professional. The storage size is perfect for my personal needs. After installing MS Office 2016 and loading all the files that I backed up from my old laptop, I still have 79 GB free which is enough for me. The only issue that I have is HP sent me a message that my warranty expires in 8 months --- it’s supposed to be one year. I tried to use the HP dispute link but it does not work so I got worried that maybe I got a used product. I went back to Best Buy and the rep explained that the warranty starts when the laptop was made and not when it was purchased … which does not make sense to me, but he assured me that it is brand new. I was informed that if something happened to my laptop after the 8-month HP warranty, Best Buy will take care of it because they don’t want to penalize the customer due to the laptop sitting on their shelf for 4 months. I just hope Best Buy abides by this promise since I could not find it written anywhere. Better yet, I hope this laptop lasts a long time. My old HP laptop lasted 8 years.

KUDOS to HP and KUDOS to Best Buy!

I don't travel that much but when I do I used to bring an Android tablet which was OK. However I HATED with a passion having to type anything using its soft keyboard on the screen. So I wanted to buy a moderate sized (13.3 - 14") laptop with a full HD (1920x1080) display, an 8th gen Intel CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads and an SSD drive. My research showed that Lenovo was coming out with new models with similar specs but lower prices then their current models and due out in April but I could not find them. So last week this HP laptop was on sale from $750 to $650 and had the specs I wanted so I grabbed it. And I am VERY PLEASED with it. Yes, I would have liked the SSD to be 256 GBytes vs. the 128 it is but with all the programs I want installed there is still 80 GBytes free. The processor with the SSD is VERY FAST. Load times are very short. The screen is very good and the speakers are OUTSTANDING. They were designed by a Danish firm called Bang and Olufsen (they make VERY HIGH end video and audio products that are VERY contemporary in design and VERY expensive). I don't know how they got such great sound from such small speakers but they did. The new Lenovo models finally are available and to match the specs in the HP would cost $890! And the Lenovo speakers are underneath the keyboard and you hear them as reflected up from whatever surface they are on. I haven't heard them but they can't sound very good. Also the Lenovo has discrete graphics which I don't need. So again I am VERY HAPPY with the HP. OK, the Kudos to Best Buy are because on Monday the HP laptop was reduced even further to $549 so since I'm still in the return period I called immediately for a price match to their own new lower price. I got to a human within a minute or so and she was very helpful and after a couple of minutes on hold she came back to say that she issued a credit for the difference and as I was finishing up with her I got an e-mail confirming the credit. It took a couple of days but today the credit showed up on my credit card account. So the final cost to me was $550 plus tax. Unfortunately the HP is no longer on sale and is at its regular price of $750. But its still a very good buy at that price.
