Great for home use (with Mac/iPhone)

I only used this printer with Macs and iPhones. Don't know about PCs. I don't print big jobs very often, but when I have to print I want minimal hassle and good quality. Same about scanning. This printer fits the bill. In addition, I can print from my iPhone without having to use apps or installing extra software on the computer. 1. Setup. The beauty is that there is NO SETUP. I turned it on, entered the wifi password, and the printer showed up in Safari on my Mac under the Bonjour bookmarks. The printer's browser interface is self-explanatory. 2. Software. You don't need to install the software form the CD on the Mac, as it talks the same language as the Mac. That's very important as I want to keep the clutter on my computer to a minimum. So you can print from the Mac without installing any software. When you first scan (using the scanning menu in System Preferences or Image capture), you will be prompted to download software from Apple. You can also scan from the web interface, but that doesn't work well (can only scan to JPEGs, scanning to PDFs does not work properly). Now, if you want to use the HP printing/scanning software rather than Apple's or HP's browser interface, you can safely install the software form the CD. It is minimal, it doesn't come with the bloatware that my old HP (similar) printer came with. 3.1 Printing photos. I just printed 6x4 50 Christmas good quality Christmas pictures and it consumed 70% of the color cartridges. I think that's acceptable. 3.2 Printing docs. I like the double-sided option. 4. AirPrint (print from the iPhone without using apps). It works fine, as advertised. The computer is off, it's all between my iPhone and the printer. 5. Printing speed. Slow, but not bad. OK for home, maybe for a small business too. Setting quality to fast draft helps. 6. Scanning works fine. I did not measure it but it took me maybe 12 hours to scan several drawers full of old documents. It's not just the scanning speed that matters. but the entire workflow: lift lid, place document, hit "scan" button on computer, save document when done. I am pretty happy with it.

A huge disappointment!! Replaced an old hp series 750 and totally regret it....sadly, my old printer still works perfectly but new computer wouldn't recognize driver needed so I thought it was a perfect time to upgrade printer. Should have invested same amount of money in new drivers. If this is what hp is putting out now...will try brother or other printers on market.

I ordered online to replace another printer that was not wireless and also had been giving me trouble printing. Picked up at the store, have not had any problems. I print from my desktop PC (Windows) and from my Samsung Galaxy Tab S. I like that you can scan and email documents straight from the printer w/o touching the desktop or tab. Could care less about having a fax so I declined the eFax offer. I waited to write the review until after I had used it a while. Great product for the price. I am not a huge fan of printing, in fact, I refuse to print volumes of anything, so I am okay with life of the cartridges. I replaced my factory included black cartridge in about 3 months. Also, it prints great pictures, but I will not use it for many pictures. Rather upload them to Shutterfly and let them take care of that effort. Save the ink for just special pix I want right away.

The problems are known, given the Internet chatter, but I didn't pay attention and purchased the printer anyway. They are right: it is practically impossible to load paper correctly.

their printers tend to last for about a year, but with the budget I had, i could only afford them. I did by the extneded warranty this time because of the bad luck with them.

I bought this printer, after doing some research, and talking to a Best Buy associate. Took it home and the little screen was not readable AT ALL!! Called technical support. They said there was a disc to use for set-up, but since I couldn't read the screen, to bring the printer back in, for exchange. I did and got the SAME results. What a waste of my time, money, and gas. I had a Cannon for over 10 years with no problems. I think I'll go back to them.

I have spent over 8 hours on the phone with geek squad and was never able to keep this brand new printer connected wirelessly to my computer. I am now using it connected with a usb cord which totally means I paid for wireless for nothing and can not use some of its "features" .

There was no disk in the package when I opened the box, and I hooked it up with a USB cable and went through all the steps on the internet site and it still doesn't work at all. It was supposed to be wireless, and I can't get it to work even though I went through all the steps on the site. I want to throw it at the store. There were no easy printers, only complicated ones that I cannot get to work. I hate it.

I bought this printer based on the salesman. I have not been able to print envelopes, single or batch. I spent yesterday trying to print paper but not successful. If there were instructions about its operation I did not receive any. I do not want to return it but will if I cannot get the assistance I need. I do have access to high speed internet but do not know how to use it with this printer.

With my last HP I could feed in one piece of paper at a time. Even half sheets. This one will not do that. Keeps jamming. And it will not print a photo on full size regular copy paper. Wants me to put in photo paper.

I am an avid and serious HP user -- desktop computer, laptop, printer, camera, etc. However had to return this printer and exchange it for a Canon. Photo printing quality was poor.

Tried to set up on my wireless home network but was unsuccessful. Repeated attempts to go through the instructions did not help. It would keep knocking off line my wireless computers and other equipment. I finally gave up after a week of trying and returned it to the store. I then purchased a Brothers All In One Printer and find it works perfectly with my wireless network.

I wanted a printer so I could print pictures of my kids and their kids. I printed several pictures and all I got was smeary unrecognizable prints. I am horribly disappointed in this printer. I was replacing a HP and thought I would be smart to go with the same brand.

One of the main reasons I purchased this copy machine is to fax. In fact this printer does not fax unless you buy a monthly program. It is false advertising to say a machine faxes when in fact you need to pay a monthly fee and add a program to get your copy machine to fax. I feel we are mislead by the company and I will remember that.
