    Amazing for Parents and Kids!

I bought this printer because my last one died. I needed a nice scanner and photo printer. Well I got much more than I even thought. It was really easy to intall and easily added to my wireless router. I started scanning and printing things off and had no problems. Just yesterday I started messing with the feature on the screen. Let just say my kids are now more excited about a printer than I am! It prints out daily coloring pages from about 15 different disney cartoons. It also allows me to print of paper airplanes for my boy. It shows him how to fold them and they are in color like airplanes. You can get an app for your smart phone and print to your printer from anywhere as long as you are on wifi. Simply Amazing and above all other printers in its price range. Thanks HP!

You need an engineering degree to set up. The first one the display screen was hanging off by a wire behind it, so I returned and got another one. It is very difficult to set up the wireless and HP customer service is a horror.

Not a good photo quality. I bought this printer because the salesperson recommended to me as the best quality photo printer at the moment. I explained to him what I need it the printer for, TO PRINT GOOD PHOTOS. Not at all.

SET UP WAS EASY WITH THE INTERNET. APPEARED TO WORK PROPERLY. NOW IT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL BECAUSE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN INDIA CHANGED MY SETTINGS AND THE GEEK SQUAD WILL NOT MAKE SERVICE CALL ONWEEKENDS. SO I HAVE TO FIND SOMEONE TO MAKE IT WORK AGAIN.

I'm sure this would be a great printer if it worked for me. I've had to call HP support five times since I have purchased this printer. I purchased this printer in middle of August and I have had nothing but trouble with connectivity.

Easy to use, middle of the road printer

Pros: This is a good, general purpose printer. The simplest, most straight forward user interface I've seen as everything is done through the touch screen. Prints documents just fine. Photos with vibrant colors are rendered vibrant. However, the lack of a photo black cartridge means I can't get good deep blacks in your photos like I can with my Canon printer. Perhaps the HP 7520 would be better in this regard. Ink cartridges print until they are completely empty. Cons: Difficulty getting the WiFi to maintain its connection. Required many phone calls to Best Buy (no help, sorry), HP, and our ISP. However, once we found the magic settings for our ISP supplied router, the printer has reliably remained connected. Noisy paper handling mechanism. Difficult to add paper before letter size paper tray is empty because there is often a sheet partially pulled into the feeding mechanism, which then jams when you slide the paper tray shut again.

We got an error message about the ink cartridges. We bought a new set, and it still didn't work. Best Buy gracefully exchanged it for a Canon that works great.

    Economic Versatility

    Posted .

Found the most versatile/economical solution for my technically-challenged needs. I wanted a device that the ink cartridges were readily available in store instead of on-line only as with my old printer. I also wanted a unit that could easily adapt to the multiple devices we use....cell/smart phones, laptops, and pads. The touch screen pad guides you easily through any task step-by-step, and often includes visual prompts. I have already used it to scan documents/photos to send to in emails. I have printed photos...including iron-on fabric photos. They were nice quality. I use it almost daily to print coupons from my emails, internet recipes and Word documents. HP has many free programs, including a nice/user-friendly photo-editing processing similar to those found at drug or department stores. I did have to contact HP to disable a function that sent coupons and HP document/updates to my printer whenever my printer was left on. Their free product support team is very helpful with any questions or issues.

Great printer that makes little noise

My previous HP printer was one noisy mess. Eventually that noise ended up being a death cry and I had to replace it, with this printer. So far there have been no problems printing color and B&W images and scanning in images produces great scans. The printer is pretty fast for an Inkjet and makes very little noise.

    Doing well the first month

I got this as the only available warranty replacement for its predecessor the 6510, which started printing messes within a couple months. This model design I like because of a low profile height and front paper feeds, which allow use inside a cabinet. I have a roll-out shelf and can roll it out of the cabinet to lift the scanner lid. The print quality if good, and pages print in just a second or so, once the printer finishes its preparatory workout. The black ink on its predecessor seemed to run out quickly; I haven't empttied a tank yet on this one. The wifi connection works well - how handy is that feature?! The scanner seems to work well.. The input paper tray has a drop-down front so you can slide paper in without removing the tray. The touch-screen controls seem reasonably logical and responsive. I just hope it can perform for 5-10 years like a good printer should. I bought extended coverage because its predecessor had failed.
