HP Photosmart 6520
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product has a lot of shortcomings. There is no built in OCR program. The top tray for small photo printing cannot be turned off per HP. The default cannot be overridden . Make a grinding noise after printing

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am disappointed in HP. My computer, laptop, & printer are all HP. My old printer (HP) went to the trash can. So I purchased a new printer and this one has been rigged so you can't use remanufactured ink cartridges. Like the ones I used on my old HP printer. I recommend you check the price of new HP cartridges. It is a good black and white printer.

I will never buy HP again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second HP 65XX that stopped printing in black soon after the warranty was up. The first one stopped after about 9 months. I hadn't registered the warranty (my fault, I know) so HP would not honor the warranty because the printer had been manufactured more that a year earlier. Since I bought all new print cartridges while troubleshooting, I bought another printer so that I could use the new cartridges. This one worked great for about a year but started doing the same thing. To its credit, this one did last about 15 months. But now I have another printer that doesn't work and 4 new cartridges that I can't use. I am just going to eat the cost and buy another brand. HP used to make quality printers. Our old all-in-one lasted almost 10 years. I even refilled my own ink cartridges and never had a single problem. These new ones, even with only brand new HP cartridges, seem to be designed to self-destruct after one year so that you are forced to buy another one.

PITA to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What should have been a brief printer install has been an hour worth of filling in the blanks in their directions. You have to use the tiny upper printer tray to print photos from your iPad or iPhone, versus sending it to a normal size page. You have to create an online account to even use the e-print feature. If it wasn't for Best Buy's horrible 14 day return policy, I would have returned this.

Problems right out of the Box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer never worked right since the moment I plugged it in. There are too many moving parts, the paper jams, the ink doesn't come out on the paper, it wasn't easy to set up to my network even though I used the cd. I am returning this. My last printer was an HP but a much more simpler and straight forward process than this one. I thought I was upgrading and instead opened the door to frustration and wasted time.

Printer Constantly Jams
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the HP printer to use at home for printing documents and pictures. The printer constantly jams. For example, today I had a 6 page document to print and I had to clear 5 paper jams. Also, the paper does not align easily. This leads to documents where the print is crooked on the page. I would not recommend an HP printer and I would return it if I hadn't thrown away the original packaging.

Works Fine, *When* It Works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it works, this product is fine. The problem is that a significant amount of the time, perhaps 1-in-3, it does not work. Either the wireless connection cuts off, or the cable connection can't be read, or it gobbles more than one page to print at a time, or the colors are nothing like the photo that needs to be printed. For the cost of ink, waiting until the third printing before it gets things right just is not worth it. The aggravation factor is just too high to bear.

Not a great printer for photos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I also bought this printer because the salesperson said it was a great photo printer. I disagree. While easy to set up and use, the quality of photo printing wildly varies. It uses a lot of ink and prints steaks often. I have tried cleaning the heads, replacing the ink cartridges, and the printer will print a few nice photos and then begin streaking. Already looking to replace!

WASTE OF MONEY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a printer it is OK. Software is lousy but connecting to print is easy. If you need to make copies or scan it is OK if you are only doing one page. If you are doing more than one page, it is horrible because there is NO ADF! Naturally it is my bad for not noticing when I bought this worthless thing. Then I went to fax one page to the car dealer today and learned that I have to sign up for a paid efax service and in creating an account I have to allow HP to monitor my printer use and send me marketing "information." I hate to throw in the towel when this is only a couple of months old but just saying-I am so done with HP-DONE DONE DONE

Problematic Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know what is wrong with this printer. It was easy to set-up. First wireless print copies were fine. Quite noisy--like gears churning. Then I was gone for 5 weeks. Needed to scan some documents and photos. Fragmented single 8 1/2"x11" copies into several parts--some one word. Shifted document. Ironed document. Tried everything. after an hour, finally got a correct scan. Then needed a print copy. OMG! First copy faint. After that, no image! Did all the diagnostics. Showed no color for the black. But cartridge levels were all about 1/2. Summary printouts were fine--in black. Then called HP, did same tests. Ultimately, some problem with printhead. Needed to return. Well I've had it. Just got this before trip. VERY FEW copies. This was an upgrade for the previous HP PS 250 that consumed 6 sets of black cartridges and 2 full sets of color--all XL!! I am SO SO mad at HP printers. Just today, HP called and agreed to return for REFUND! So disappointed!

It eats Cartridges. Wont print in pure Black.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrible little printer because it eats Cartridges for breakfast. You will be replacing them every 2-3 months. It's ingenious how they get more of your money because you have to have the color cartridges to print in Black. If you don't have any color left, it will print in Gray. I had to buy this one according to Best Buy rep. in order to setup my iPad for wireless printing. A Money Drain.

Must pay to Fax
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer Beware!! In order to fax you need to subscribe to an eFax program which is not free!!! If you are looking to use this machine for faxing I suggest you get a printer that can actually be plugged into a phone jack. I am soooo disappointed I bought this printer because I need to fax things occasionally and now I can not do that!!

Lasted 9 months !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Noticed after 9 months that color was not printing correctly. Tracked down to Yellow not coming thru. Bought another Yellow ink (HP of course) but still no yellow coming thru. Likely clogged, but nothing can be done to fix. Looking for new printer, and very likely NOT HP !

1st one lasted only 2 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a problem with the original new one, paper jam with no paper jam. after one hour on the phone, 5 days later they sent me a reconditioned one. It had a problem with the door not shutting properly. Another hour on the phone, giving the explanation to three different people they are sending another recon. one. Why do you buy a new one to get a recon one after 2 months?

Poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this printer because of the wireless option so my son can also access it with his desktop computer. I tried for 2 weeks with HP tech support to get this function to operate to no avail. It printed well using the USB connection only. I had to return it. I bought a Brother in its place and had no problem with their wireless function. It you want wireless, don't get this printer.
