    Photo Printing

If there is a bad one out there I will be sure to get it. I am trying to scan my photos to a flash drive and the printer is making everything red. If there is a touch of red in the photo it wants everything to be red. I have called customer support twice. The first time I was on the phone for 2 hours with no results. I was told I would be called back. Didn't happen. Two days later I called again. When I explained the problem I was told they would call me back. I explained I had been told that before and was assured I would be called back immediately. Didn't happen. If you are considering an HP product be aware that they do not provide customer support.

Don't bother trying the web site to download the drivers...might as well plan on an hour with HP tech......and then be ready to reconfigure your wireless router......seems like a lot of steps to take for a premium printer....I would be hesitant to recommend this product to a non techy

This printer is awesome! While it isn't the fastest on the market, it does a great job. I love that I can easily print from my iPad as well as my laptop. Setting up the wireless access was so easy and quick. Love, love, love. So happy I chose this model!

Does just about everything I want it to. However, I did notice little quirks in some printing jobs. Called HP & was told printer was not totally compatible with windows 8.1. They did add another printer to my PC which was compatible and that works fine.

    Horrible Printer

When I first received the printer, everything looked fine until I started to set it up. I only got past the "select language" and "select country" steps. Then, it was time to print the alignment page... Now this is the part that was horrible. The printer took in half a sheet of paper and stopped. An "out of paper" message popped up. This continued until I contacted hp customer support. They said they would send me another printer. I am still waiting. They told me they would mark it as priority and that fed ex was backlogged and would take two weeks. I bought this from best buy and it took 2 days to ship. Not worth it, we'll see if the new printer has the same problem.

    Disappointed

I have had this printer for a couple of months but haven't used it a lot until recently. I am finding it often (very often!) will not print the complete document. What I need to print is often quite important so I need for it to do the job it is supposed to do. In addition, it is wasting ink because pages that only have 1/2 or 3/4 of a document printed have to be thrown away.

    Stock Black Cartridge not functional

Just setup my new Envy 5530 today and I ran into a hiccup when attempting to startup the system. I reached the point where you have to install the printer cartridges but I kept on obtaining an error stating that "at least one of the printer cartridges has a problem". So I uninstalled, inspected and reinstalled the cartridges only to find that the same error message would play without any indicated as to which cartridge has the "problem". Luckily i purchased extra printer cartridges as I was not 100% sure the product included cartridges. So I started with the color cartridge, replaced it and the same error message occurred. I then replaced the black ink cartridge and the problem was now resolved. Not the best experience to have a 30% markup ($30 for 2 cartridges, base cost of the product was $100) without having actually used the product. Now the kicker, after running thru the rest of the installation process I then tried to print a color jpg to make sure the product works (the configuration/alignment page had some color on it) but it will only let me print in black and white... I cannot speak to the other functions of the product. Not sure what to do next, any help will be appreciated.

This product has a great footprint and worked well for us for 1 year. within 3 months of the warranty ending the machine continuously locks up and fails to print. Callas to the HP help desk resulted in the - its out of warranty so your out of luck - candidly I will spend more for another product- likely an Epson as the replacement.

    Horrible Ink Guzzler

The only think I like about this printer is the wifi works well. It drinks ink by the gallon. I put in a new cartridge and printed one 14 page power point presentation....left me with about 25% black ink and an empty color cartridge. Obnoxious. It's also one of the slowest copiers I've ever used.

Do not buy this product. If there was a no star rating, this one would not be receiving one star but I have to give a star. .Every time I try to print it says "network offline" and I have looked up ways to fix the issue of "network offline" and to no avail. Unfortunately I am passed the return date so I am stuck with a printer otherwise I would return it and get a different one.

    Windows 8.1 problems

Basically I just wanted an inexpensive printer to print photos. Didn't need the scan features or the duplex printing as I have a nice HP Color Laser printer for documents. Spent several hours on the phone with HP tech support trying to resolve printer driver issues in Windows 8.1. They eventually came up with some work-a-round that included using drivers for different model HP printers but it doesn't seem to be worth the aggravation. Wasted loads of photo paper and HP insta-ink. HP was nice enough to reset my print count due to incomplete prints due to driver issues. Printer seems to work fine on a Windows 7 computer. Quality of photos is impressive when it works correctly. Best Buy matched a lower price found on an internet site. Other HP printers close to this price point offer multiple paper input trays so you don't need to swap out your stock when switching from 4x6" photos to 8.5x11" paper. Would recommend only if still using Windows 7 until HP or Microsoft figures out the driver issues.

    Okay at first

I was pretty happy with this printer at first, but after having it not even 2 years it slowly started going downhill. This printer has problems with any type of speciality paper whether it be a lighter cardstock or the HP photo paper, it won't feed it correctly and only prints half the image. Talked to tech support and nothing they have told me to try helps. Their only recommendation was to print it on regular computer paper because that's the only time it will actually print the whole image. Also you have to change the print quality always to "best" or "highest" to prevent lines and scratches on the image, the image will print nicely.. however it takes forever and uses up double the ink. Overall I would not recommend this printer considering it's pretty new and I can't even use for the half stuff I want to use it for.

So far, so good. Some issues

So far, I've printed a couple of pages of paper. So far, the only problem I had was connection. For example, printed 4 pages on my HP laptop, the next day, despite being online and connected, it said the printer was "Offline" even though it was online. I decided to print on my sister's ASUS laptop and there was no "Online/Offline" issue with printing.

If the darn thing would keep working I would like it. It's so bad, that they have to have a scan doctor utility to help you diagnose the issues with it. The utility is very nice. Shame that they need it.
