Beautiful on the outside but...
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Couldn't live with how hot this laptop would get. It was just a matter of time before something was bound to go wrong with it. For a laptop made in 2020 I would think they would be able to put in a quieter fan but nope. The fan is consistently blowing and making noise since the laptop is crazy hot.

Camera is embarrassingly poor quality...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expected the camera, microphone and audio package to be more than sufficient for general video conference needs, especially at this price point. I was wrong. I go out of my way to not participate in video conferencing because the quality is so poor. It would be difficult for my small business to buy HP moving forward. This should not be a concern in 2020.

Disappointing, especially for the price
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first HP Spectre I bought, about 7 or 8 years ago, worked great and never had any problems with it. Very satisfied with the product, I decided to purchase the same when I needed a new computer for teaching online. I haven't been this disappointed in a product in a very long time. The first Spectre I picked up had a malfunctioning keyboard, many of the keys wouldn't work. So, I exchanged it for the one I am currently using. The keys work, but everything else has been terrible. The USB port constantly malfunctions, when I'm teaching over Zoom the microphone will randomly cut in and out and I have to restart the computer in the middle of class and the document camera is sometimes "not recognized." This is has been a disappointing purchase, to say the least and it's only been less than 8 months! With online teaching likely lasting throughout this school year, I will have to purchase another computer to get through. Very frustrating.

Great computer but still not happy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a fast compact laptop to use on the road. This is a great computer but the lack of traditional ports drove me nuts. No usb...no hdmi...it required me to get adapters etc.and then travel with those. I finally gave up and returned

Was GREAT at first ..... VERY DISAPPOINTING NOW!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for myself as my birthday present. It is nice looking and convenient travel size. It has the 4K UHD Amoled display. The screen is great UNTIL IT ISNT. Right about the time the factory warranty wore out ... so did the screen. HP is apparently AVOIDING ADDRESSING this issue. It actually went out while barely still in warranty but I have been working out of town and on foreign presentations and had nothing else to work with. This needs no less that a display/hardware replacement and I am only now at the point where it can be stripped/wiped of my personal data so that it can be sent in for repair. ... of course NOW out of warranty. I have always purchased high end quality notebooks .... I WOULD NOT purchase another HP!

Switches off on it's own
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent money buying this laptop just for school and nothing else with the expectation that i won't have any issues since i only use it for online classes. After 2 months of purchase (best buy return expired and forgot to buy insurance) the laptop started switching off on its own when I'm using it. I tried to ignore it initially but the problem persisted. When I'm typing my assignments, the laptop shutdown and i will lose my work. I got angry and went to best buy, they said they can't do anything. I called hp, they said i should send it over for repair. I just sent it and waiting for the return. Don't waste your money!!!!

Buy at your own risk.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went from a Surface Pro 7 to this laptop. My surface pro was dropping wifi due to an update and even after rolling back the update it still dropped wifi. So, based on a recommendation I bought this laptop. Less than 30 days of buying it, the mother board went on me.,, Just like that! Called HP, no help. I work from home and it is essential that I have a working laptop. For $1700 there should be no issues. Could not even turn it on, the power button just blinked and the charging light blinked and nothing. Thankfully, I could return this and replace it with a Lenovo.

Not manufactured well
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took 3 HP Spectra orders, 1 from HP direct (12/7/19) and 2 from Best Buy (3/3/20 & 5/31/20), to get a laptop that performed to specifications. In process Geek Squad was more helpful than HP support. Best of luck with your HP purchase.

Camera is horrible
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture from the computer camera is horrible. Grainy and oversaturated. Looks like something you’d get from 1987. :( very disappointed. And not worth the money at all.

Looks great, but multiple quality issues!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great design and overall craftsmanship, but had stuck keys and very intermittent finger print sensor. Going to try another unit or switch back to Apple again.

Certified piece of trash
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the worst mistake I have made in a very long time. I explained I was moving out of country and was told because they certified the machine there would be no issue. I constantly get the blue screen of death and it is not recoverable. I've tried calling Tech Support but get told that because I'm out of the country I can't return this. I had it less than 1 month when it died. It will turn on and run, sometimes for 5 minutes sometimes for 2 days but no longer than that before it produces another blue screen.

Ongoing Issue With Blackout Screen, BEWARE!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, overall the first 2 months of using this HP laptop was fine, but then after that the screen kept on black like repeated over and over again. First it would freeze the screen that you are currently on and then it would just suddenly turn black. Or the black screen of death, which HP is known for. So just be careful buying any HP laptop because it is their way of making you buy a laptop often enough for them to make money. BEWARE, screen suddenly shuts off and fan runs to excessively loud.

Piece of crap
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used only 5 times and the nest I know it does not start and just blinks in 30 years using computers is a chance to get anomalies but as an engineer I decided to inspect it. This laptop just don’t works. When I was trying to get my guaranty a girl behind me came out with a similar issue in the exactly same model. Luckily for her she could change it. I just leave it there and I know nothing about my piece of crap since more than a month ago. Not even geek squad could help.

Extremely disappointing.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this expecting to get a great product. The display looks amazing WHEN IT WORKS. At times, only the top half of the screen would show anything. And then not long after, the computer stopped responding entirely! Would restart and try and log in many times and would freeze on login screen after putting in password. Would not buy again.
