False specs given through best buy. Front camera isn’t 4K or have 8.9 megapixels. It’s only 720P and .8MP. You’re paying for something you’re not getting.

Unfortunately there have been several issues with getting myself set up on my new HP and also being able to continue the use of certain features (e.g. DVD drive and Microsoft Office 365) on my old PC. A geek squad agent in coming to my home on June 6th to get everything properly set up and running. I'll be able to make a better evaluation after that.

bought this for my daughter for college 2 years ago and motherboard just failed. Out of warranty and repair quoted at $625. Google search shows a common issue but no recall. Better to buy Apple products as we had 2 macbooks last 12 years and only had batteries changed and only unusable now due to outdated OS.

Horrible. Hinge was messed up out of the box and was covered is some kind of sticky residue. Only way to fix was send it back to HP.

Computer died a little after a year of owning it. Brought to certified repair shop and they can repair for $1,150 - or about $300 more than I paid for it.

    Wonderful laptop for a student!

I bought this little laptop for work. I noticed it while browsing in the store and was impressed by the super crisp screen. If you're looking for an affordable laptop with just a little bit of storage space, I would highly recommend this laptop. It's very lightweight yet made very well. It would be great for a student! I feel like my eyes aren't as strained as they were before. I currently have a 15.4" macbook pro (2017) model and this screen surpasses the macbook significantly. It is more compareable to the newest macbook retina displays. If you're looking for more storage space and overall processing power, I would go with the other hp spectre, which is a charcoal gray and gold or black and gold color. Everything is running smoothly and being a mac user, hp almost converted me...ALMOST. I am a photographer so the mac works better for that workflow, but I am definitely getting these for my kids for school. If you're looking for something affordable and just a little bit of space, get this one. If you're needing more storage space, go with the other hp spectre. You will not be dissapointed!

I bought 2 of these early March because kids now have to do digital learning at home. I did research prior to buying and it had great reviews everywhere. I've had no problems with them at all, unlike the two other reviews. It is light but does not feel flimsy , screen is bright and sharp. Kids use both the mouse pad and touch screen so its great.

This is my first laptop (after returning 2 others- one shut itself off (Microsoft). I love the lightweight, compact feel of it. Love the Intel Iris Plus Graphics. The camera however distorts colors and they're sometimes fuzzy. On Zoom calls for work, my royal blue shirt had waves of green and my blond hair had greenish coloring in spots. Very disappointed in this because I bought it for zoom meetings. I love everything else, though, so am very disapointed to be back to square one.

    Worst laptop I've ever had

    Posted .

I bought the HP Spectre x360 at Best Buy about 2 years ago after reading reviews that said it was better than a Macbook, the laptop I previously had. It's the most I've ever spent on a computer and I have never regretted it more. I try to shutdown my computer often to prolong the battery life but I admit I am guilty of leaving it on sleep mode at times. Several months after buying it, the hard drive started to overheat. Instead of taking it for service, I made the mistake of buying a stand with a fan to cool the computer. About a year after purchase, the charger finally broke after months of fraying. The microphone stopped working with the new Microsoft 10 update, so I had to get a headset. Now after almost exactly 2 years, the battery dies while the computer is sleeping if I forget to shut it down. And now, several days before starting my PhD - which is all online due to the pandemic - the screen breaks. I had shut down the computer and everything was fine until I turned it back on and the screen stayed black despite resetting (You can't remove the battery on this computer). I worked through all of the helpful tutorials on figuring out what is wrong and I can connect my laptop to an HDMI and see my desktop but the spectre screen remains black. It was great going home to realize my desktop monitor does not have an HDMI port. (Love my life!) I loved this computer while it worked. I'm sure I would love a $300 or $400 computer just the same and it would probably last the same amount of time (I think 2 years is average for that price range?). Through all this, I've learned some valuable information I'm excited to apply during my academic career: do not trust glowing reviews on tech websites; never buy an HP laptop or product ever again; and Apple is terrible with Tim Cook in charge, but it's better than HP.

Don't do it unless you want a $1200 paperweight

I have had my Spectre x360 for about 2 years now, and am getting the blue screen of death constantly. I've gone through so many diagnostics and made system adjustments, but am still getting nothing but system slowness, crashes, and constant glitches. Good luck getting any help from HP once your warranty expires. I'm certainly willing to pay for the repairs, but would love to be able to contact customer service to figure out how I can get the problem diagnosed. Can't even do that. Ridiculous. I've owned many Apple computers in the past, all lasting me about 5-7 years before needing replacement. Zero major problems except replacing hard drive around year 4, but this was a quick an easy process with Apple. This is my first Windows computer. I don't find a 2 year lifespan for a $1200 laptop acceptable and would never recommend HP computers to anyone.
