Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the Spectre x360's lightweight design, impressive battery life, and strong performance, particularly praising the speed of its solid-state drive. Many appreciate its compact size and the convenience of the touchscreen. While some users mention that the device can get warm during intensive use and that the fan can be noticeable at times, the positive feedback on its portability and elegant design outweighs these concerns for most buyers.

Great performance, lightweight.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pleased with this laptop. It's very light, ultra thin and packs a lot of power. The i7 7th gen Intel processor with 16Gb of RAM and 512Gb of solid state drive is more than enough for my needs. I gave it 5 stars although the absence of an HDMI port is a limitation, but USB 3.0 to HDMI adapters are available on the market at affordable prices.

Quality issues ruin great hardware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the first non-Mac laptop I've purchased in many years. I made my decision largely on the strength of Windows 10 and the reviews of this particular model. Unfortunately my experience quickly brought back bad memories of glitchy PC laptops of yore. Within an hour or so of use the keyboard, trackpad, and touch screen had all ceased to respond to input. Installing driver and BIOS updates suggested by the (wonky) built-in HP Support app may have had something to do with it. A complete system reset (using a USB keyboard and mouse) from the recovery partition did not help. And so, back to the store it went the very next day. (Going through HP Support looked like a horrible idea based on experiences described in their forums.) The hardware is undoubtedly sexy, but issues with quality and software/hardware integration still seem to be the order of the day in PC laptops. Maybe I just got a bad unit, but the experience left a bad enough taste in my mouth I didn't want to try my luck a second time.

Fan is ON all the time and Heating problem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Multiple issues- 1) FAN is ON almost most of the time 2) Laptop FRONT and BACK both are getting heated 3) Battery is drying extremely fast; it claimed to have 13 hours but is drying almost 3-4 hours No system crash yet though... Won't recommend for now till I use for few more days. If these issues goes on, I would potentially go and return this pricey piece of hot scanpan in few days

good with some problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is fast, and looks great. Pros: 1) Speakers are great Keyboard is great However, it is not as great as I was hoping for. 1) Battery life is significantly less than the advertised 15 hours. I would say is 7 - 8 hours, which is not bad. But, the claims made by HP are outrageous 2)The laptop lacks some important ports such as HDMI and SD card. 3) The touchpad is very flimsy, and make a cracking sound when I move my finger over it. I am already past the 2-weeks period to return it, unfortunately.

Great but for one FATAL flaw...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Spectre has all the specs down right... It is light, has a nice screen, decent screen display, fast processor and battery life. But there are two design flaws, one really fatal and the other is a nuisance. The minor flaw is that the touchpad is a bit insensitive. It does not always respond to your finger. This is a bit moot for me because I always use a mouse, but for on the go users, it can be a bit cumbersome. The fatal flaw is the heat. After a couple of months of problem-free use, the laptop started to freeze. The system logs did not indicate any issues. The problem was progressively getting worse. From occasional, daily and finally hourly. Since I saved an image of the HDD to my network, I restored the computer back to its out of box state but the problems persisted. The issue was finally resolved by blowing out all the orifices with compressed air. The laptop was overheating which caused the lockups. After a couple of months the lockups would start up again and i would have to blast out all the openings again. If you search the internet, you will find a lot of people complaining about this issue with no resolution. Caveat emptor.

Great 2-in-1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best laptop we have, and I use this for everything - business, presentations, personal, video, etc. (My family has two Macs and two other PC laptops.) Windows 10 and the most recent Outlook are surprisingly good - have really thought through the workflow. e.g. when you are in Outlook and want to attach a file, it automatically brings up a menu of the last files you were editing, so to searching through folders in most cases. The machine is beautiful - metal case, light (2.83 lbs), lots of computing power, good battery life. The one thing I wonder about is what the cycle life of the battery will be, and that I won't know until 2-3 years, hopefully longer. Very good value.

Great 2-in-1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the HP Spectre 13.3" to replace a 15" MacBook Pro and an iPad. I frequently travel for work, and carrying a work laptop, the MacBook Pro, and the iPad was a pain. Having a smaller device that can be a laptop and a tablet will be great. I have only had the Spectre for a few weeks, but it has been working well. The 1080p screen is clear and bright. The keyboard works well, although it takes a little getting used to after using the MacBook Pro. I haven't had any issues with the touchpad like others have had. Flipping the screen around and using it as a tablet has worked well. I am definitely pleased with the HP Spectre.

Battery drain while off & quality control issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The late-2016 (7th generation) HP Spectre x360 would be a great computer - if it worked properly. Unfortunately, it does not. Battery drain while off: Look through these reviews on Best Buy or Google this problem and you will find that it is widespread. For the first few weeks, I thought I was just forgetting to fully charge the machine. Then I tested and found that the battery drains significantly while the machine is off. I've now purchased two more, trying to find one that works, but no joy. All three units drain the battery while off. HP tech support is clueless about the problem, despite the fact that their own forum is littered with complaints. After the usual tech support run-around, I was finally told to send in my brand-new fresh-out-of-the-box computer for repair. HP promised quick turn-around, but it has been two weeks and I don't have the computer back yet. Webcam: One of the three Spectres has a bad internal camera. It simply refuses to focus. Interestingly, the camera reports itself as a different model than what is in the other two. What, did they just stick any camera that was lying around the assembly line in there? Uninstalling drivers and temporarily disabling the camera hardware does not fix the problem. I even loaded a disk image from one of the other Spectres, but that didn't help either. HP has some obvious quality control problems. Stay away.

Do not recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially I was very pleased when I purchased my HP. It worked great for the first two years. Even though I was concerned about how the computer would get hot after an hour of use. I had a second computer so I was able to limit my use. As soon as I began using it a lot it burned out and I lost everything. Even the warranty would not cover the computer to be repaired or the recovery of my files. I learned after speaking to several people that they had the same horror story with their HP. If you are looking for a computer that will last do not spend your money on an HP. It does not live up to the price. Disappointed consumer.

Battery life sucks!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In comparison with my old HP laptop, the battery life for this laptop is not good. A fully charged battery today will show somewhere in the 90% then after few days 70%. My old HP laptop has a better battery life.

Battery Drains When Laptop is Completely Shut Down
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm losing 6 Percent every eight hours when the laptop is completely shut off. Seems to me a lot of people are having problems with the past builds of this laptop and no one can seem to find a resolution. HP support is lacking in all aspects. Everyone who is asking about this issue gets replied by HP bots that link you to a battery check/battery calibration. Definitely going to return this product.

MOST DEFECTED LAPTOP! DO NOT BUY!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought the Yoga to begin with but I didnt like how it was barey a laptop with the price I was buying it for. So i decided to look for a replacement that could do more for the money I spent. I did a some research on either getting the Microsoft surface Pro or the HP Spectre 360 with 512 i7. During my visit to bestbuy there was an HP representative that told me that this laptop was the most durable laptop that he watched the company actually do some drop test and it still worked. Being very stylish and durable I decided to go with this laptop. THE CONS My laptop is actually the 4th one I exchanged. I was adamant on having this but all the ones I bought had a button that wasn't working. Brand new out of the boxes i had to test out the buttons before I left the store. But finally i bought the one i have now and no problems at all. After A YEAR of using it, guess what, the DOWN BUTTON gets stuck, the LEFT MOUSE PAD gets stuck at times, and the worst part now is that the RIGHT SPEAKERS VIBRATE. as if it blew up. I barely used this computer and comparing the Toshiba laptop i had before never had a problem. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF ... I recommend you get the microsoft surface or the Microsoft surface book cause my wife did have both and still performs and doesnt have defect. I barely used the 360 mode anyway and if I do it becomes the most HEAVIEST FREAKING TABLET in the world. Atleast the Surface book detaches and its very lightweight.

Great laptop - Bad QC with Battery Drain Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this laptop - but might have to return it given HP's faulty product issues. Laptop has battery drain issues. Drains to ~90% after 24 hours even after being fully shutdown. Sphinx update does not fix this problem.

What a terrible buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop as a Christmas gift to myself. No more than a couple weeks later, I ended up having to exchange the laptop for another one (of the same model) due to the SSD malfunctioning and loud fan noise. The new one is much worse. About one month later, I was having heat dissipation issues, extremely loud fan noise, and excessive system freezing and stuttering. I'm constantly shutting this laptop off with the power button due to its massive amount of issues. Getting work done at times is nearly impossible. I spoke with HP about it and their remedy was for me to send them the laptop so that they may debug and troubleshoot the issues. I heavily rely on my laptop so being able to send it in for any amount of time was an unreasonable request. I'm still struggling with this terrible buy and plan on pursuing a dispute via AMEX to either get a new one that actually WORKS or get my money back and they can have this garbage back. Very sad.

Laptop was sold with faulty SSD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop from Bestbuy. 3 months after I bought the laptop, I was experiencing frequent blue screens (BSODs) on Win10. Windows diagnostics (sfc/scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:repairSource\install.wim) were unable to run on this PC, and HPs startup diagnostics pointed to a faulty SSD. I need to send PC into HP while it's still under warranty. I had switched/downgraded to HP from Dell. I've had 2 Dell laptops for 12 years, with no problems. Bottom line: avoid this product at all costs.
