Constant Crashing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer with great enthusiasm-- solid hardware, great features, etc. It worked great for the first few days and then on the second restart it said that there was an error loading Windows and after trying to restart the computer failed (one of the options available), the only other option left was to reformat the computer. I can understand something like this happening after years of use, but not after checking email on it for a few days. So, naturally, I thought this was some kind of lemon. I brought it back and the store arranged to send me a new one. ...Exact same thing happened with the replacement computer I received. I have no idea what the issue is with this processor, but despite the great features, not worth the frustration and uncertainty that comes with it. Silver lining is that the customer service at Bestbuy was fantastic and is the only reason I'll be going back there to try to find a replacement after this debacle...

hp specter x360 convertable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had nothing but problems from the minute i got it home. I have had 2 replacements. The same problem on all. after the second log on the keyboard was not recognized. HP had no answer for the problem and blamed it on windows 10. Windows 10 came pre installed. I would not recommend this machine to an enemy.

Almost Perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Model 13-4101x Pros: Looks great Very light. Very fast boot up and transfer speeds. The keyboard is solid and the track pad and touch screen are very responsive. So far i've gotten full day battery life (Regular surfing, Emails, Music, Youtube and downloads). Small in size but doesnt sacrifice on ports!! (3usb + 1hdmi) I considered the surface pro 4 but feature to price wise this was much better. Cons: Speakers: Upon buying it i noticed a crackling sound from the speakers sometimes. I looked online and saw other users had this issue too. I had to download an update for the audio driver from HP and i saw somewhere that i should turn off the the audio enhancements in the DTS audio control panel. MUCH BETTER sound quality since i did that. Screen: Bright, good colors and will definitely display your videos and pictures in HD. However i notice that some of the icons in the task bar and in some applications look pixelated when using full HD screen resolution. NOT a major issue but i can see how some people might be annoyed. TouchPad: Although very responsive to taps and scrolls it is huge. So i find when i am typing my palm may rest on it or when i want to right click i have to make an effort to go over far enough.

Got a bad one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately I just must have gotten a bad one. Constantly locking up on every app. Battery died after 3 hours. Touch pad extremely sensitive and could not disable. I traded in for a different brand.

Never worked as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop, tried to fix the issue of the battery not indicating the time left but it never worked. HP has been useless to help resolving that issue.

Waste of money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a few weeks of purchasing this Laptop, already experiencing problems with the hard drive as well as software. This is by far the worst investment I have ever made. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to get a MAC.

Great with a few issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This a great laptop but there are a few issues that bother me. I will be returning this for the Dell XPS 13 because of these issues. One is that this laptop get extremely hot after just like 10 minutes of streaming youtube or any other HD video, gets even hotter when I played Borderlands 2. I was very uncomfortable and couldn't even have it on my lap. The fan/s were working but just didn't prevent it from getting extremely hot. Another one is the battery life is really not that great. I got like 5 hours out of mine. Far from the 8 or 9 i've seen listed on some websites. I like the size of the trackpad and seems to respond ok, haven't had any problems there. The full HD screen is also great but I did notice some backlight bleeding when the screen is black. Brightness is good but with it turned all the way down it is bright in a dark room. The 360 feature is cool but I never use it or used it on the Yoga Pro 2 I had. Volume is good but sound is not that great. I don't really like to rely on laptop speakers anyways. Overall it is a decent laptop just needs a few updates that hopefully HP will fix in the next Spectre x360. I gave it 4 stars because it is a good laptop if you can deal with the heat. It does get HOT. So because of that I could not recommend.

Light and compact laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is light and compact, and is super convenient to bring around. That being said, it can be difficult to use sometimes because the pointer gets lost very easily on my screen.

Excellent device, very versatile, powerful, fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me begin by saying that this is my first PC since Windows 95. Yes, I have been using a Macbook Pro for the past 9 years until I finally could not limp it along any further. I have used other devices for work, as well as those of colleagues, but was impressed by the HP Spectre X360. You get far more bang for your buck with this device versus the Macbook Air, and it really has a premium look and feel. My friends that have the Macbook Air have commented that this machine looks better and works better than theirs (at 2/3 the price). It is a very fast, functional machine, and I had no problem integrating it into my home network with all my other devices (mobile and peripherals) with not a single hiccup. I use it for work in addition to home functions without difficulty. It is able to multitask and perform multiple operations simultaneously (Excel calculations, graphics manipulation, CAD, Powerpoint, and Outlook - all at the same time!!!) I enjoy using Windows 10 on this device, but have also installed Linux concurrently to run work applications. There was no problem in doing so. I have not experienced any issues as were mentioned in other reviews. My only negative comment about this device is the trackpad, which I am still getting used to. It is sensitive and highly functional, but has been an adjustment for me. otherwise, an ideal machine. I particularly enjoy the presentation mode and tablet mode for when I am giving presentations to colleagues, or am mocking up graphics. Good job HP. Highly recommended!

Versatile and stylish
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer rep at the store was very informative and pointed me towards this computer. It's lightweight, and is leaps and bounds quieter than my previous laptops. Being a 2-in-1, it's great to be able to websurf and utilize the keyboard, then flip over to the tablet watch movies, etc. I also purchased an HP stylus pen and it interfaces great. I can jot down notes and sketch in MS paint with ease. Although a little on the pricey side, the processor and SSDD are proving themselves very nicely.

Early Impressions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was eager to try out Windows 10, but wasn't willing to risk doing so with my daily-use desktop. I picked this up this laptop up the morning of the release. I'll talk a bit about the OS in a bit but this really ought to be more about the hardware and HP specific details. Setup was simple as can be. Nothing that needs to be inserted or fussed with. It has beautiful packaging and the sleeve case is a nice included accessory. Gives off a high-end impression. The construction is sturdy and does not flex. I love the bold shiny edges. The bezel around the screen in on the thick side but overall the monitor is very nice. Minimal light leakage from the bottom edge. Hard to notice except in the dark with a black screen. Screen is shiny and susceptible to glare but this is a very bright panel and more than makes up for that. Specs are a good value for this price. The dual core i7 has plenty of cache and memory to work with. The SSD keeps I/O zippy. There are other laptops in this price range that have larger screens or other pros, but none that I have looked at were as nice. The others felt cheap or had dimmer, cheap screens. The keyboard is decent. The feel being a high-point, the questionable coloring being the low. In low light you NEED the backlight on, in normal and bright light, you NEED to turn it off. Just annoying since it has to be done manually. I wish that they had included a fingerprint reader. Something like that would really convenient and set it apart. The touchpad is also good but not great. I had no issue typing thanks to good palm detection. Tap to click was a bit too sensitive and so I turned it off in favor of the "click". The bottom edge has both left and right click zones. This might be great for some but I really hate it. I find I often have a finger in the left click zone and so the two-finger click won't register unless I move up the pad a bit. I only encountered one small issue despite having a day-one Windows 10 laptop which I think is a bit impressive. The sound was a bit distorted even with headphones. I went to the HP site and downloaded the latest windows 8.1 x64 audio drivers, and that fixed the issue. Hopefully they fix that in future shipments, but it is nice that there is a fix available. Windows 10 to feels more like Windows 8 than anything else due to the visuals, but it does have a great deal more emphasis on the desktop interface we all know. I was happy with 8.1 and considered it an upgrade to 7. The Cortana features have been fun to play with. I don't like the start menu search as much as I did in 8, but then again I feel I would have said that when I upgraded from 7 too. In time I found the indexing was faster and learned my habits more easily. Overall this is a very nice, light 2-in-1 design that should satisfy most people who want a good blend of power and portability. I don't think there is a laptop out there at any price I would rather have than this one for the purpose of traveling and still being able to do some serious work.
