love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research prior to committing over a grand on a laptop. I watch a lot of videos on my laptop and do a lot of school work, even though the price was a bit steep for me, i took a chance and dont regret it. The screen/resolution is very good, very fast, light. the only flaw with it, is the speakers. they are located on the bottom of the laptop, so they are not the loudest.

Awesome Machine!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every time I use this laptop, I like it even more. I recommend it for sure and I've tried several other 13.3" laptops to my eventual disappointment (Lenovo, Asus, Dell). PROS: + Looks great - high quality build + Outstanding value and feature set - i7, 8GB Ram, 256 GB SSD, 1080 screen, etc. is hard, if not impossible to find at this price point from other brands + Thin and pretty lightweight considering the features and power + Good connectivity for peripherals + Super fast (yes, super fast) + Quick start-up, shutdown and wake-up + Quiet (thanks SSD!) + Fantastic battery life for a thin laptop (varies depending on processes) + Screen is gorgeous - bright, clear and great viewing angles + Fast Wi-fi (AC) + Smooth operating, very comfortable high quality feeling touchpad (some complain about random misbehavior but it's likely because they don't have the latest Synaptics driver from HP) + Can use a stylus. Works great with OneNote. I have the Dell stylus 750-AAGN + Not loaded with a bunch of useless, resource hogging bloatware (except in my opinion, McAfee) + The protective sleeve that's included is a nice touch CONS: None of these are deal breakers for me, but a few considerations.... - It's easy to accidentally hit the power button when you move the laptop which puts it in sleep mode - The front edge of the aluminum case isn't rounded, not necessarily sharp, but may irritate your palm SUGGESTIONS (in my opinion only of course): * Uninstall McAfee and enable Windows Defender * Read-up on potential Microsoft Edge and Cortana security issues and adjust privacy settings to your satisfaction (if you plan to use either)

It's awesome for college
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer for college and it's amazing. This computer is very light weight and you'll never complain about having to haul around your laptop like some of my friends do. it's also has good number of usb ports. I can use a flash drive,a wireless mouse and projector at the same time. My one complaint is that the computer get usually hot when folded back. It gets to the point that after 30mins, its uncomfortable touch the heated areas. I only have issues about heating when in tablet mode, which i don't even use often. I would point out that if your on a budget and looking for a computer for the purpose for schoolwork and netflix, this is a little overkill. I'm not complaining but I would like to note that.

Best Windows laptop I've seen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm quite happy with this purchase. I tried Microsoft's own "laptop" (i.e. SP3) and was elated with the performance -- but it wouldn't work well on my lap, since I'm a bit heavy. So I needed a real laptop. But still, I liked to use it as a tablet with the pen, and that's what led me to this one. Performance is stellar. Build quality is stellar. The keyboard is hands-down the best keyboard I've experienced on a Windows machine. I love typing on it as much as I do my MBP. (Yes, I'm a device geek -- I own several top-of-the-line models of different formats). The sound is great here. The screen is great -- sure, maybe the higher resolution in the top model would be better to look at, but it would cost battery life, and battery life is excellent on this machine. No complaints at all, as it gets me through a full day of work. The only downside has to do with the trackpad, and that's only because I also like to work in linux sometimes. So I set up a dual-boot. And when I'm on the linux side, the drivers aren't so great, so I often find myself accidentally deleting things and moving the cursor around. The driver for Windows is good enough that this isn't a problem, though. So unless you're one of the few of us who like to use linux, it's irrelevant. As far as the windows side, it has better battery life than the SP3, and it's much easier to use on the lap while taking notes in a meeting. The touch screen is responsive. The build quality is excellent. I really have ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS on the windows side of the machine. This is by far the best Windows laptop I've owned (and I've owned at least 8 of them in the last 4 years). As to whether this is better than the Macbook Pro, well, that only depends on your use. I use them both equally, and don't view either as better or worse. This is definitely on par with the MBP. Buy it!

Fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've bought a lot of laptops over the last few years including Dell Latitude, Lenovo Yoga 11, Lenova Yoga 13, Macbook Pro and this is the best quality and performing Windows laptop I've bought. The laptop is fast, Windows 10 is a huge improvement over Windows 8. The size is great, but the metal frame feels like it doesn't compromise quality.

Big bang for the buck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought Spectre I7, 256G, 8G a month ago. After updating BIOS, drivers, and Win10 laptop deliver in all fronts: 3+ hours of Netfilx and cool, 8+ hours of battery, HD display perfect for 13.3 inches, fast reliable and WiFi does not drop. Most stress that this ultrabook is the only one I know of that supports two external displays... AMAZING! If it lasts 3 years I will say best computer I have ever had... and I have owned a few!

This one will go on the road with me!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I travel a great deal for my job, and I needed a new laptop to allow me to work in the air and in the hotel room. I'm also an HP fan, so there was no question I'd be looking for a new laptop in the HP aisle. The Spectre has great color and speed...it's more than amazing, especially considering the modest cost. Other laptops may cost more, but I can't imagine them delivering any better than the Spectre 360.

Great Fast/Small laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got this puppy yesterday,(4101dx model: i7, 256MB SSD) have it fully configured. Overall - great little system. Keyboard is very nice, screen is great, touch is great. Only downfall some is the touchpad. Really struggled with it for the first few hours, now I've got it down. Issue was how far I had to reach for the left/right click. Makes it really tough. Hint: think like a mac user: do a 2-finger right click just about anywhere on the touchpad, that way you don't have to reach to the right side of the incredibly long touchpad to right-click. makes it MUCH easier. The only other issue so far is with Windows 10 and the touchpad reverse scroll. Issues still to be worked out there, but it's a windows issue, not the Spectre. I wish the kybd keys were the standard black with the white writing, but the silver works too. I'll get used to that. VERY glad the power plug is the new standard HP plug since I have other HP devices which use the same power. So- - overall, great laptop. Fast, light, very sleek.

great for school
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use my laptop for school and is perfect for it. I have a 20-30 ride from a park and ride to school and this laptop is great to use as a tablet or laptop while on the bus. It is extremely lightweight and one of the lightest. The i7 core processor makes it extremely fast. keep in mind that it does not have a dvd drive but i was not looking for that feature. I would recommend this product its in your budget.

Great Laptop with one MAJOR FLAW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent laptop, it's slim, keyboard is nice on the fingers, very fast, lightweight, comes with a sleeve for the laptop but the sound system is FLAWED. There is a crackling noise that accommodates the laptop when the sound is maxed out. Obviously when you spend $1000+ on a laptop you'd expect it to be somewhat ready to use from the get-go, without any tweaking or adjustments. I had to return it unfortunately. HP fix this please. Thank you.

Terrible experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop online so that I wouldn't have to make the 2 hour drive to my nearest best buy and as it turns out, I ended up making the trip out there twice because of this purchase. The first time we received the laptop, we were very impressed, it was packaged so nicely and looked great. But it all changed when we tried to turn it on, the keyboard light turned on and so did the system fan but not the screen. We tried everything we could think of to get it to work but everything failed, so we called geek squad and the best advice they could give us was to press the power button (because we of course would have never thought of that *sarcasm# or take it into the store to be looked at. So there we go, we get it replaced and test it in the store and everything looks like its back on track, the next morning, when I go online the pages keep refreshing every minute or two then suddenly close. I tried downloading a different search engine #chrome) but the laptop kept closing that app on me too and then it would lose the wifi signal and wouldn't let you reconnect because as the laptop popup stated the wireless drive could not be located. And thus we will be making a second trip out there to not exchange but simply return this laptop and get our money back. NOT worth over $1,000. I really liked the look and feel of this laptop but after experiencing such disappointment with not one but two laptops, I would NOT recommend anyone buy this product.

Great laptop by unstable with Windows 10
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read the great reviews and was impressed by this laptop. After purchasing, I spent 5 hours installing the SW my daughter needed for college including Webroot and a few other programs like Office 365. The next morning I got the windows 10 "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC". After 2 hours on the phone with Geek squad and an in-store visit where I was told the OS would have to be re-installed which would take several days and wipe out everything, I returned my corrupted laptop and got a second brand new one. I started it up and loaded Webroot and it got the "Automatic Repair couldn't repair you PC" in the first hour. Some combination of this laptop, windows 10, and Webroot are unstable. I returned the second laptop and was told that a number of laptops with windows 10 are being returned for this reason. I am an experienced IT professional and never had anything like this happen on the numerous devices I have purchased.

Awesome specs, very pricey, terrible with games
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've bought this laptop twice; once because it had all the specs. I was looking for: SSD, i7 processor, full HD graphics, 2-in-1 touch screen, and a good size for on the go. I was willing to splurge a bit because it had better specs. than all competing laptops (including any by Apple). But I had to reset it within 4 hours of purchasing it because it would freeze on a black screen after I began playing Sims 3. I returned it then tried another laptop, but was unsatisfied by the aesthetics, so I tried another Spectre X360. Already, I've had to reset it again, most likely I presume because I installed Sims 3 again and tried playing it. I've had this laptop for 2 days. So overall, this is a great laptop with everything anyone would want but it cannot handle any game 6 GB and above (sims is a little over 6 GB). I wouldn't risk downloading anything too big for fear it might demand a reset and for such a high price, this is a major flaw.

It's discounted for a reason.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this one is discounted because it has a 5th gen processor instead of 6th gen. Meaning it's a bit slower. But you probably already knew that. What you might not know is that the graphics engine has been upgraded too. So if you watch a lot of videos or play games, you should step up to the 6th gen model, because you get a newer graphics engine that's faster and produces better colors. But no matter which one you get, these laptops are nice quality, with a very nice trackpad and excellent hinges that feel so smooth. You can open it with one hand. Don't bother taking it outside, though. It's just not bright enough. Oh and it gets really warm on the bottom. The Samsung 9 Spin is much better in both of those aspects.

Nice laptop until i started having problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish i could give it a 5/5 but no. Shortly after i bought it i had problems with the software, hp tech support was unable to find out what is wrong so they had to reset my laptop. And again shortly after that, the hardware was acting up, one of the keys turned on/off and the touch pad did not work. So i have to send this laptop back for repair which very inconvenient if you need a laptop for everyday use. It has not been 4 months since i bought it. I really liked the moment i bought it though it was kind of pricey but now im just frustrated with it.

It gets me by
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this computer for graduate school because I needed something that would flip into a tablet for class and could be a laptop for all other things. However, this computer is SO glitchy. Sometimes the track-pad just decides it doesn't feel like its going to work and other times the sound just doesn't work. It is so bizarre. When I restart the computer it works again. If I went back in time I wouldn't buy this computer again. HP sucks.

looks awesome, great package, poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I regret this purchase more than any I have ever made. At first glance this is a cool computer, nice compact package, nifty touch screen and all. Reality set it, it is SOOOOO fragile, we had the computer for 1 week and the screen broke. Neither Best Buy nor HP will help, HP doesnt even sell a replacement part!!!! So, i have a $1100 paper weight and I'm back in the marker for a new computer.
