Great looks and performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop looks great and light to carry around. The full HD display is great. Has touchscreen. It can be bend 360 deg to use in tablet mode. Handy but not very convenient. Performs faster for day to day use and games. Not a real gaming laptop though. Sturdy keyboard. Touhpad a little too big.

A good laptop but not great...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop due to size and features that were advertised. I do not need a lot of hard drive space but the ultra-portable 13" size, i7 processor and 8GB ram were exactly what I was looking for in a laptop. The added features of the stylus that would put it on par with the Surface Book were a bonus. With that said I ran into issues with the processor being throttled after periods of use and the amount of heat radiated on the left side of the laptop made it uncomfortable to use on my lap or to touch that area of the keyboard. I did some research and it appears the heat is an issue that was present in some earlier models that varied from light heat to scalding hot.... the amount of heat on mine was close to the high end. Doing simple tasks such as using MS Word and browsing the internet would cause the web browser to crash or Word to get the spinning circle while it resumed. I love the look, feel and design of the laptop, unfortunately it will be getting returned as for this price I expect the functionality to be there as well.

A near perfect machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: Very fast, competent for light gaming (MOMA and low resolution shooters). Awesome battery life, very portable. Great touchscreen, comes with useful pen. Speakers are insane, especially for a laptop this size. Crisp and loud. Keyboard is clicky and comfortable. CONS: Screen color is slightly yellowish, but only noticeable when compared side by side with other devices. I recommend going into Intel color settings and raising the blue brightness by a little bit. Fan is a little loud, turns on at random times. Bottom of computer can get really hot when handling a lot. Not a big deal with a desk.

A Nice HP Improvement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned the previous model of this computer, which was a pretty nice machine, however disappointed it wasnt stylus friendly. When I saw this model that included the HP pen it was a done deal as I think the stylus function and Windows Ink should be a standard part of the package. Had this a few days now, got all my software installed, absolute beautiful design, comfortable to use, great display. It does run a little hot but can live with that, otherwise so far so good. I would recommend waiting for purchasing on sale and saving a little at Best Buy as regular price is a little steep, but thats only my opinion. Check it out today, the silver model is my preference over the other options, compares to Mac's which I also own and far more economical than what Apple attempts to sell in todays market. Best Buy has great service!

Rattling touchpad, but great customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a grad student who was looking for a new laptop to replace my 4-year-old Lenovo Yoga. My Lenovo gets hot and the fan noise is loud, so I thought I'd try another brand. The HP Spectre is a gorgeous laptop and the sale price seemed amazing for an i7 with 8GB. Plus the 2-in-1 feature is something I've enjoyed. But when I brought it home, I noticed that the touchpad was rattling, even when I touched it very lightly. It was loud and driving me crazy, so I thought I'd try exchanging it. Same thing with the next computer. Such a shame because everything else (except the top left of the computer getting hot) seemed like a great fit for me! If you're okay with a loud touch pad (no "silent click" when you tap it), then go for it. But overall Best Buy's customer service throughout the experience was wonderful!

Best Laptop I have purchased
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the HP spectre for over a year now. I am hard on computers on the physical side and the software side. the only problem physially after a year of using the Spectre is the hinge is not perfectly straight anymore but it still opens, sometimes makes a tiny little sound when i open it but nothing bad( like i said i am not easy on the computer). software side I have had a few miner issues, sometimes when you click the mouse moves to the side, it has stopped doing as much as updates have happen(i have seen other's talking about this in reviews so i know its not just me) also the only other thing is that everyone in awhile I don't know if its a windows problem but it starts having an issue where every time you click the mouse the windows notifications window opens up and the only way to stop it is to restart/shutdown. other then those issues the computer is running strong, i have been through a bunch of laptops but non have lasted this long or ran this good for this long. This is a great computer for any collage student or someone that just needs a laptop in my opinion

disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop to replace a HP folio 13´ (Excellent product BTW). This one is a heavier and less useful option. Why? 1. As I said, is so heavy 2. It gets too hot. 3. When making the transition to Tablet, it is common that the software fails. 4. Frequently freezes. And... finally 5. With just one year of use - my battery only lasts two hours I definitely would not recommend it

I recommend not to buy any spectre family laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had same spectre x360 laptop few months before which I sold it because It was over heating. (HP technicians said there is nothing wrong with it) I sold it on ebay for almost same price and bought same one. Its been only few months and starting to get problems with cooling fan. It turns on even CPU runs at 8 or less Percent. It is noisy. people around you will notice that. (HP technicians said it is normal and thats how it is designed). you don't get quality like other competitor's <$1000 laptops.

Not Reliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maybe I got a lemon because it had a problem the 1st week I owned it. It is less than a year old and now has power problems, won't turn on or charge. I sent it back for repair via Geek Squad and they sent it back saying nothing was wrong and it worked fine. I used it for a few hours and then again the same problem - no power and won't charge. I cannot depend on it. I expect better for a laptop this expensive and this new. I am going back to ThinkPad which is what I had before. Bye bye HP.

Terrible product and company
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Filter by the negative reviews and look for people that have had the computer for longer than a year. Tons of issues. Bad customer support that wants you to spend more money when you've already spent thousands. I also tried to post a negative, yet respectful and hones review on the HP site and they refused to post it. Buy another brand.

DO NOT BUY FROM HP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Their products stink. They REFUSE to post negative reviews on their website, even after a customer service confirmed I adhered to all posting guidelines. Spend your money on another brand. I had two wonky HP Spectres, sent them back, kept the 3rd, starting having problems a few months later which of course can only be fixed by dumping hundreds of more dollars into it. Don't do it.

Won't boot up (FAN error) after 3 days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not happy with this laptop. It is giving me a fan error after 3 days of using. Unacceptable for a premium product from HP. I bought this from US but I live in Australia, and Im currently going through a very painful process to get it replaced/fixed. NOT worth your hard earned money.
