Solid, fast, quality PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was originally looking to get a Surface Book or just a regular Surface Pro, but was drawn to the HP Spectre's spec sheet. What you get in this machine is a steal for the money, compared to the MacBook Pro or the Surface computers. Everything has been working well for me so far and am very pleased in this computer. The display is superb, and as a student I am very happy with the typing experience. The battery is acceptable for my needs. I am able to get through a normal day without plugging in. Saying that, the battery performance doesn't blow me away, so take that into consideration if that is something that you desperately need. For performance, this thing is a beast. I do light 1080p video editing and everything runs fine. It can handle everything I throw at it, and am very happy. Also, Windows 10 is awesome. Miles ahead of Windows 8, and I think it is still way better than Windows 7. I love Cortana and the revamped start menu. Very happy with this computer.

Worst Computer Ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is garbage. Locks up constantly. Keyboard and mouse stop working. Hangs. Blue screens. It was the laptop I was worried about getting if I had purchased a low end product in the 300 - 800 range. Turns out this was every bit as bad as a budget device. I am usually pretty good about selecting computers, but I whiffed on this one big time.

Trying to love...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Salaam(Peace-B-upon-U) My wife bought this 2in1 last week from bestbuy. I took it back and go the same one because on the first one the trackpad was higher on one side than the other. Its not visible but if you ran your hand around the mousepad you can feel it. The exchanged one is much better. However, when i tap on the trackpad, it makes a 'cheap' sound. like tapping on cheap plastic. Not a deal breaker. I was using it in a really quiet room. The trackpad is kinda huge. Sometimes when the palm rest is on the trackpad and you try to scroll using the pad, it wont work, you have to move the palm off. Still okay with me. Downloaded Visual studio while connected to the power outlet. The bottom left got pretty hot. Maybe because I had the plug connected? Not sure. After charge completed, I had MS Edge open, few tabs, 3-4 chrome tabs, while coding on visual studio, it didnt get hot. It was slightly warm. Cool beans with me. I am a programmer. I downloaded trial Photoshop CS6, on battery, It didnt get too hot. It was warm. Out of the box, the F5 key is always on. I HATE IT. But I was able to turn it off via the BIOS setting. Which was cool with me. NOW I always have my computers on MUTE by default. For this machine, when you MUTE it, the MUTE LIGHT comes on. So now I have an orange light on ALWAYS. Did not see any option in the BIOS for this. Also I turned off the FUNCTION keys in the BIOS. Otherwise if you hit the F5 the keyboard back light comes on. I disabled it, because I need the F5 key to refresh my browser window. I am a Programmer/Web Developer. So I need to refresh pages constantly. It was nice I was able to disable it. I dont use much tablet. This is good if you use mostly for laptop ish usage. Its not heavy, its not very light. I had a Lenovo Yoga11s. 2.8/3LB ish. This is not much of a different but it makes it feel heavy due to the strong body (Aluminium casing, if I recall). HATE: * Nowhere CLOSE TO 512gb SSD. I have about 430gb after installing visual studio and photoshop. The W10 os takes about 35gb. Still C'MON HP!!! *Trackpad feels cheap *MUTE orange light is always on (When mute). *HEAT. From what I experienced so far. Might need to play with it a bit more. I did not 'officially' set it up to be mine, in case I want to return it. *BACKLIGHT. Keyboard backlight has only 2 options ON/OFF. when its ON, you can see lights coming out from the edges of the buttons. Also the contrast of light on the button itself is not too great. If you are in a completely dark room, it shows nice, otherwise, Its a bit powerful. Would be nice to be able to dim it a bit more. *BRIGHTNESS. The LCD/Monitor brightness at 0% still is not enough. I feel It could have been less brighter at 0%. *THE DARN BLINKING LIGHT when I closed the laptop and left it next to my face on the nightstand. The bright blinking light woke me up few times. I had to turn the laptop other way. It was not necessary for it to be that bright. LOVE: ---------------------- *Battery life. For me the battery life is really good. (Alhamdulillah, praise God). I get about 8-9 hours on full charge. I work mostly in the dark, so I keep it on very dim (10%). It might go longer, but I have to do more testing and tweaking. I dont do much videos/youtube, netflix, etc. *Screen. I love the screen. It does get finger prints. I dont touch it much. But wipes clean nicely. Like the quality of graphic. I have the QHD model. Really nice visuals. (I have not tested out the speakers yet on full blast). I am confident on its quality from other reviewers. Speakers are not on top of my list for this. *KEYBOARD. Being a coder/programmer, Keyboard is very important to me. So far, from my experience with lenovo, this one is really good. Lenovo had the backspace button small, so I would miss it most of the time by accident. It would take a bit getting used to. This 2in1 offers good keyboard, as if I was using my work 15 inch dell. *BIG TRACKPAD. I am an average size guy, but I enjoy this extra large trackpad. I zoom in and out a lot reading PDFs on it (Adobe touch). Scrolling up down on the trackpad is nice on browser windows. *LONG Power Cable. I can have it on the wall while I am in bed. *Build Quality. Compared this to my brother in-laws macbook, his one is heavier. Love his trackpad though. Just the trackpad tapping sounds cheap. Not sure why my first one had the trackpad quality issues. Overall Its a great machine. Just that for $50 more at bestbuy I can get 16GB ram 512SSD Yoga900. Im sure outside quality is not metal/Aluminium like this one, but my last Lenovo lasted a while. I am looking to keep this (IF I do) for at least 3 years. I am still deciding between the 2 but I am really trying to love the Spectre. Just the SSD really upsets me. I mean c'mon around 430GB to me? 512gb - 35gb for windows10 = 477GB. What happened to the other 35GB? I understand its not actual. But even 5gb makes a big difference. Ask Dropbox. Anyway. God willing, I will give this a bit more try for another week. Start to personalize it a bit more and see where it takes me. 110% sure I would miss it if I returned it. Just dont know if I should have gone with the Y900. I researched about 60 hours total before wife got me this one. Good luck guys.

Nice Little Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The main reason this laptop isn't getting 5 starts from me is that I did have to return the first one the first week. Anything that could go wrong that first few days did. Constant crashing and repeated frozen blue screens. The second one has been great. There are only two things that are not as promised. The battery is not a 12 hour battery. It is about 4 hours at best. The second thing is the tablet mode. It does not work well in this mode and generally freezes when returning to laptop mode. I have decided not to use this feature. It does boot very fast, runs programs smoothly and very nice looking. I use it for work 8-12 hours a day and it does not over heat. That is a great feature.

Very pleased
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased a Surface Pro 4, but just wasn't feeling it. Just wasn't performing the way I felt it should speed wise, touch wise, so I traded it in for this sweet machine. This baby has exceeded my expectations. Size, weight, performance, all great.

Not missing my Mac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really needed new laptop and have been a mac user for many years. It has been so many years since I worked on a Windows PC, it was not my first choice. I shopped for a Mac. I wanted a light model, but still wanted some power. I looked at Macbooks, Macbook Air, and 13" Macbook Pro, but the prices and specs did not look as good as the HP Spectre. Mac has not come out with anything new since early last year. Should I wait?? Then I thought why? Even if a new Mac comes out soon, the cost and drama around getting one is something I'd rather not do. I was happy to find this HP Spectre model. So far I love it. It didn't take long to get used to Windows 10 and the speed is amazing. I would highly recommend you take a look at this model is you want a small powerhouse of a machine. love it

Good Machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Powerful and beautiful. Screen display is amazing, something like retina display of iPad. Touchscreen and tablet mode made me prefer it over Macbook pro with retina display. I read a lot of pdf documents for which portrait mode is very useful where you can read an entire page without scrolling or zooming in. One star is deducted for it getting hot and awfully low sound. I connect my Bose speakers or Beats wireless headsets when I am watching any video, so I don't care.

Some initial bumps in the road
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The initial bumps in the road were: 1) The F5 key stays illuminated when laptop on - major deal breaker. FIX: Install the latest BIOS which has an option to turn the F5 key light off. 2) After installing the updated BIOS and the latest Windows 10 update my wireless AC stopped working. I disabled and then enabled the wireless AC in Control Panel/Devices to get it working but a few minutes later it would stop working again. FIX: Downloaded the latest wireless AC driver. 3) The graphics display would restart occasionally. FIX: Downloaded the latest display driver. 4) Based on 1, 2, and 3 I went to the Control Panel, Devices, right clicked on each individual item in the list and performed a driver update search so all the devices on the laptop would have the latest and greatest drivers. 5) If you put the laptop on your lap it soon becomes extremely hot underneath - probably due to the venting. Stays cool on a flat surface. FIX: Will have to use my portable lap desk instead of my lap . Haven't used the laptop more than two days but after those aforementioned bumps in the road I do like the 3 USB Ports and the display. It boots up fast and appears to be quite speedy. Works great with the LG Ultra Slim Portable Blu-Ray Writer I also purchased. Keeping fingers crossed that no more "bumps" occur.

Versatile and Powerful Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with this two-in-one laptop. I purchased it almost 6 mo ago and I am still sometimes amazed at how functional it is. It is lightweight (4+ lbs), clear screen quality, quiet (thanks to the ssd), and fast. I plan on keeping this laptop for quite a few years and try to keep it clean and wash the fingerprints off the screen every few days. Decent speakers for a HP laptop, 4 out 5 for tablet quality (keyboard is difficult to access in tablet form, you have to fiddle a bit with it), and the software still has a few kinks (win10) but overall it is quite swell. There's a bit of a learning curve to getting the hang of this tablet/laptop but all in all it has been a worthwhile investment.

Great Laptop... Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased several 2 in 1 laptops before I found this one. I wish I tried this one first. I hade the Lenovo 900 which is a good laptop but it isn't even close to this one. I tried the Lenovo 700 and the thinkpad. the thinkpad was good but it was heavy and bulky. I tried the dell Inpiron but that one was glitchy too. Windows 10 works flawless on the HP Spectre360. I had a lot of issues with the Lenovo. the pad was sticky and the sound didn't work all the time. I returned 5 of them for one reason or another. but this HP is awesome. It is fast and light. It is quite and Easy to use. I opted for the bigger hard drive but the 256 is fine. The battery is lasting around 10 to 11 hours. I also have had no problems with office 365, the other ones seamed to lag behind or it would say display stopped working but fixed itself. I recently wrote a good review about the yoga 900 but after I posted it the sound and the microphone stopped working. The HP has very little Useless software compared to the Lenovo. I am very Pleased with this laptop. So far I have had zero problems with the HP Spectre. I wouldn't by another brand again, ONLY HP.

Fell in love with this on site..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the sleekest notebook at the store IMO. Exactly what I was looking for in mobility, resolution, power, and screen size. I dock my PC to use dual monitors so I preferred the 13" monitor over the larger 15" and 17" options. Pros: Boot-time speed QHD Resolution Soft keyboard feel Overall look Weight Cons: Keyboard Touchpad is a large, which causes inaccurate left/right clicks from time to time. Screen glare is noticeable.

Love this versatile laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this laptop for over 6 months now and still absolutely love it. It's lightweight, sleek and ultra-portable. The boot-up time with the SSD is outstanding - at the Windows login page within 7-10 seconds every time. I use it in laptop mode for the majority of the time, but will utilize the other layouts when watching videos and movies. I've used tablet-mode fairly infrequently, but it works as expected there too. The touch screen is great to have. So, no complaints at all, other than the price tag. That said, it was definitely worth it to me!

Best computer i've ever used
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is stunning. A real solid and beautiful build. I absolutely love typing on the keyboard. Very fast and responsive. Best part is how fast it boots. Really impressive. Huge win for my productivity. Two draw backs: the right click button doesn't work. you have to double-tap. I've read others that have the same trouble. Also, it is a little big to use much in tablet mode.

Amazingly Light
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome laptop! Super light and amazingly powerful. I have yet to slow it down! The battery life is great as well, lasts pretty much all day turned on. The bios update fixed the silly "backlit keyboard" light issue so I have ZERO complaints! I def would recommend this to a friend.

Great laptop for most users!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm using the product as I'm writing this review. This laptop is a great laptop. It's fast, display is sharp, and very clear. Initially, I had to update the display driver but when I did that, "Beautiful"!!! This laptop is more than enough unless you are doing heavy, heavy video editing. i7 quad-core is fast. So far so good!

Beautiful Looking laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its has most amazing looks externally. If you need a powerful laptop, the only bad thing with this is , it comes with only 8GB RAM. I preferred yoga as its lighter , comes with 16gb ram and priced lower now. Earlier, yoga 900 was priced higher than this.

Good computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a replacement for a limping Acer Aspire. No comparison. This one is fast, great screen, and it looks like it won't fall apart soon. Plenty of gigs for what we need. Sleek look and minimal weight. SSD a plus.
