Touch pad is either not responsive and other times overly so, it's better to use a mouse or the touch screen. The power button is too small/flushed on the side. Not easy to power up.

    Cannot get wifi connection

When I first got this laptop for work, immediately there was a problem with it getting wifi connection. The only way I can get it is if I sit in the room where the router is. The HP help is not that great at all either because they say it's working okay, and maybe it's my fridge disrupting the connection. It works well when I get the connection, awesome even, but without internet access it's just useless. What's terrible is that after all of that, I can't return it back with a full refund because of the short 15 return policy.

Disappointing battery life, touch pad, performance

Battery life is advertised at 10-12 hours. Absolutely not correct. Best I have been able to get with minimal work and dimmed screen is 5 hours. I called HP to ask why, they said 10-12 hours is in "Standby mode", not while working on the machine! Touchpad not smooth at all. It's very wide and hard not to accidentally touch it while typing, which affects your work.

I liked the laptop but the extra wide trackpad was always getting in the way. While typing if your hand touches the extra wide trackpad, your curser moves & your document can be destroyed. To the point that undo does not work. I had to return the laptop due to this fact. The trackpad is rather useless due to it's size & sensitive.

I thought it would be better than X1 carbon. But the down side vent is killing. It heats very fast. X1 carbon got side vents even it is thin. Thanks to Lenovo for the great design. I returned this HP envy and went back to Lenovo X1 carbon.

I believe this is the best option for a lap top. The Apple air pro II is very similar, but the one advantage over the Apple product is the longer life battery -----12 hrs between charging vis-a-vis only 5 hrs for the Apple Air Pro II....I like the Hp products....

In Oct 2015, I purchased this PC and could not have been more thrilled. After having a couple of dud laptops, I had finally learned you may pay for what you get. At the urging of my spouse, I decided to spend a little more for the SSD as well and purchased the HP Spectre 360. It was such a sturdy feeling laptop, and even the packaging was top notch. I'm very light with my PC use. I mostly use it for online browsing, photos, taxes, charging and uploading external devices (sports watch/activity trackers), and a few excel documents. My kids also use my PC from time-to-time for learning games or YouTube. A computer should last me a while. A couple of weeks ago, my screen goes black while I had stepped away from the PC. I tried everything and it would not come back on. I decided to put it aside and try again the next day. Nothing. I started researching the issue and found threads upon threads of this occurring in this PC. Nothing I tried made it seem like there was an ounce of activity going on inside computer. With it being outside of the warranty, I turned it over to a local PC repairman. He has been fortunate enough to be able to recover my files, mostly precious pictures. He reached the same conclusion of a bad motherboard with his repair that I had reached after reading the many threads in the HP forums. I will not replace the motherboard due to this probably occurring again, and will be looking to another brand for my next laptop. I wanted to give those who are considering this PC a heads-up of always backing up your files if this is the PC you choose. It really is a great PC until it just isn't, and a life of 18 months is quite pathetic. Maybe HP fixed their bad motherboards, but I would still be cautious.

It worked wonderfully until after just a couple years and the power cord is shot. Which costs over $100.00 to replace the power cord.

As a Best Buy Employee myself (Store 0408, Ann Arbor MI. Come say hello!), I found that selling myself on a laptop was a hard task. I did a lot of independent research and settled on the 512GB (QHD) model of the HP Spectre x360. So far I am seriously enjoying the laptop. I've never had a 2 in 1 laptop as well, so I find the touch functionality to be extraordinarily helpful in classes. PROS: * High Power: With the i7-5500U, this thing packs a pretty serious punch in terms of computing power. Handles any task I would throw at it with ease * Amazing Display: QHD is amazing. Nothing more to say * Very solid build quality: The Spectre is just built nice. It's hard to really describe it any other way. The laptop feels solid and performs solid. --- Cons: * Touchpad has been a bit finicky: I can't really say if this is a bug or a feature, but the touchpad on the spectre "sticks" a bit after two finger scrolling. Moving up or down a page with two fingers, then moving left/right on the page with one finger results in the touchpad still thinking you are scrolling up or down for a few moments. Again, this might just be my product, but I find it annoying (but something I am getting quickly used to) * Charger feels a bit loose: HPs universal charger design is a blessing and a curse. Due to this, the charger just has a bit extra breathing room in its port, and isn't exactly a snug fit. --- Overall, I would definitely recommend this laptop.

Best Laptop I have ever owned

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This laptop is absolutely far in away the best laptop I have ever owned. The reasons are: 1) It is blazing fast. It boots in less than a minute from shut down. Once booted apps load with amazing speed and I get 124Mbs down on internet download speed on a wired connection vs. 90 Mbs previously on an old computer. 2) Style. This laptop feels very expensive yet really isn't for the function. It has an aluminum case and very much feels like the quality of an apple product. Even the box reminds me of apple boxes. 3) Batter Life: I haven't put it to the test but understand that the batter life can extend for over 10 hours. 4) SSD drive: awesome performance, would never by a mechanical drive PC again. 5) Display: Is the best that I have seen. I used to use a 17 inch laptop but prefer this one. 6) Mouse Pad: I like the big mousepad. 7) Keys: beautiful with backlight. 8) Ports: Has three USB, two of which are 3.0 and and HDMI port and a place for an SIM Storage Card. 8) Intel I7 is very fast Honestly, I don't know how it could be better. I would say including a TB vs. 500 Gig SSD drive and / or 12 Gig of memory but neither would make a big difference for me.

Had this laptop for just now four years and the motherboard went out several months ago. According to the person that diagnosed the problem, HP motherboards are notorious for problems.
