Does not power on
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.14 months ago, I paid $1200 for the Spectre. 10 days ago, it would not power on. I took it in to Best Buy. They said the power cord is good and the battery is good so they shipped it to KY for repairs. Best Buy called yesterday saying repairs will be $810 ($660 for the mother board and $150 for labor). 14 months and $1200 later, I have a few pounds of scrap metal.

Major flaw in an otherwise great laptop.

The laptop must be opened by prying apart the two parts along this edge. It was not designed with a lip to ease opening nor a bezel to protect the screen. Grabbing the screen to separate and open it from a closed position can cause the screen to crack. Very poor mechanical design.

Returned due to excess heat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just from removing the McAfee and installing the Windows updates the fan was very loud and the bottom of the laptop got extremely hot on the bottom, with an infrared temperature reading of 120°F. Also became uncomfortably hot above the keyboard. Returned the product after 1 day, fan and heat issue did not go down.

screen stays black on power on
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited about it. but the screen stays black when i turn it on so i have to restart it to have the screen. the keyboard is very poorly designed, it is hard to see the keys because of the silver color. the battery runs out very fast. based on the price, it is not worth it. i'm going to return it.

Died Right after Warranty
