Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the responsive touch screen, strong performance, and lightweight design of the Spectre x360 2-in-1 laptop. Positive feedback also frequently mentions the long battery life and fast SSD. However, some users note that the laptop can get warm during use and that the fan can be noisy at times. The relatively high price point is also a recurring concern for some customers.

Great quality 2 in 1 for the price, but...

This really is a great deal for the money. I spent a couple weeks researching all the 2 in 1's online and in store. At the moment no other 2 in 1 matches the specs you get in this machine at this price. I have had it for a week now and it's solid. That said, I still am debating returning it based on a couple things that are just more annoyances. First it is preinstalled with McAfee security software which is known for being very intrusive and almost impossible to remove from your pc even with the help of third party software and even worse, of all the major security suites it has the lowest malware detection rate. Not what you want protecting you. Secondly and this is just personal preference, but I wish they offered the Spectrex360 15" in more than just brown. I know many like the look but to me the novelty wore off fast, not sure why HP would not offer at least one other choice,,,grey, silver, black.... anything. It may sound trivial but for something you spend hours a day using, like a car, cellphone, laptop...you pick the one with the style and color you like best. For whatever reason HP offered no choices for the 15" version. And unfortunately after just one week, even though it runs great, my first thought every time I go to use it is...Yuck, why did I buy this and I'm left trying to talk myself into keeping it. I asked the guy at Best Buy who recommended it as the best 2 in 1 they offered right now if he had one himself and he said no, but that was only because he couldn't get used to the brown/copper style. But that said, if you like that style, then this is probably the best 2 in 1 you can get for the money right now.

I like the size and feel of this 2 in 1. It does have some weight to it but it feels well made It is very thin and turns into a tablet and is fast.

So, returned this laptop and got a MBP. Here are my observations - PROS: - beautifully designed 2 in 1 - nice configuration CONS: - No auto light sensor (all manual controls). - too much fan noise (I was hearing the fan ramping up on reboots), this was evident even after running a BIOS update. (This could have been an issue with only my machine)

I had watched multiple reviews of this computer before I bought it, and I can say it's worth it. Fantastic keyboard, screen, and aesthetics. The 2 in 1 feature can sometimes be annoying in tablet mode when you are holding it because the keyboard is exposed on the other side, and the screen sometimes randomly zooms in, but other than that it's beautiful and performs well.

Keyboard Not functioning after only 3 Weeks

Apparently it is a known problem with this lap top (and other HP 2 in 1s). Keyboard is not functioning and after many turn off/ turn ons / driver updates/ driver re-installs / computer resets nothing worked. The only thing that seemed to work for a short while was tilting as suggested by some other users on the HP forums (and not by HP support itself why??) but then it did not work either. HP support has promised to refund, feeling I got from my interaction is that they know this problem quite well, after an hour long chat with someone from Singapore who escalated the issue to a nice agent in Mexico who produced a case number and will be refunding the purchase (hopefully no surprises after this point). However, this does not give me back my working day yesterday which I wasted on trying to make the keyboard work, and also the time to backup all my stuff and the hassle of finding and buying and setting up a new lap top. When I bought this HP, used an HP folio before alongside my Mac and was happy with it, I thought the search was over and I could utilize this one and retire my old windows lap top. It was not meant to be and not sure what to buy now as mentioned by the HP agent; all lap tops can have a hardware issue... (and in our 21st century with a lot of promises, AI and self driving cars, that is a fact unfortunately, these trillion dollar corporations can't even produce a faultless lap top. Had my Mac Air's main board replaced twice and then John Lewis, in London, replaced the lap top when the issue returned a third time in so many years)

I really hate having to purchase a new laptop. The ordeal of switching all of your files over and just the learning curve of a new device can be daunting. However, if you are needing to trudge thru the above, this is the laptop that will help ease the pain. It's relatively easy. The touch screen is also a nice addition. There are you tube videos which also helps!

I really loved this laptop. Starts quickly, light weight, love having something other than a black laptop. Unfortunately, I am a heavy data user who uses multiple software packages from SQL to Photoshop. It only took me a few days to complete use the entire hard drive which would mean I was back to an external hard drive or having to download files from the cloud every time I need them. Great machine, but I need storage.

Love this laptop. Great functionality, good connectivity with current generation interfaces. Fast enough for my needs. Very happy with it. Some of the preloaded HP software is a nuisance, but easily removed. Found the preloaded McAfee product to be unhelpful, but I don't care for McAfee as my experience with them has not been good; and they are somewhat intrusive.

So far so good. The laptop looks as good or better than anything Apple is putting out, at a much better price. The speakers are as good as you'll find in a laptop this size. This is touchscreen and the screen can swivel 360 degrees, something no Apple can do. The fit and finish feel fantastic and although it doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, it's not a big deal since you can sign in with Windows Hello--where it sees your face and infrared scans it. It usually works well and quickly. The touch-pad works almost as well as having a mouse. The only things I would recommend would be to have more USB 3.1 inputs instead of 2 USB C's and maybe a quad core processor, instead of just a dual core. Also it would be nice if the laptop was a little slimmer, 4.4 lbs. isn't bad but it could be lower. Also take off more of the bezel on the screen, particularly at the bottom, kind of like the Dell XPS or Samsung 9. If you get this laptop, you won't regret it. It's probably the best in it's class!
