perfect laptop - fast, easy to set up, light weight works perfectly first time. The gold trim is a little much - but there were no other colors due to demand.

We purchased this for my son to create Animation clips and it works beautifully. The advantage with this laptop is the touchscreen which you don't find on other gaming laptops.

Really liking this laptop. The touch screen is very responsive, the pen works great, and the display is beautifully clear. I love the tablet feature and how it works with Illustrator. Fast boot and no problems loading or rendering images. Only complaint is the lack of an Ethernet port.

However, the computer gets hot after a 10-15 minutes of use. The battery drains pretty fast, nevertheless, you get a great 4k resolution display (i guess this is to be expect). Compared to the 2019 model, they have the same speed, in fact, the 2019 turns on faster; after 10 attempts the 2019 won 10 times. I will try purchasing another one to see if i got a defect product!

Overheats, Blue screen Day 1, only 1 USB Port?!

I purchased this laptop tonight and already had my 1st Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). 3 concerns already (other than the obvious BSOD): Overheating, 1 USB port & keyboard isn't backlit. Overheating HP does their utmost to ventilate on the sides, back, top & bottom, but the bulk of ventilation is on the bottom. This naturally renders significant heat, mostly at the bottom. Of course, the laptop will get hot even faster if you're one to set it on your lap or a bed for even a short while. The concern is how long can will your $1700-$2000 laptop last due to overheating? The expensive option is to spend $440 on a Best Buy protection plan. This gets you 3 years (incl the 1 yr limited manufacturer warranty) in case your laptop dies from overheating within 3 years. However, why do that when you can just buy a better laptop with higher quality hardware & specs and less flaws? Alternatively, you could buy a $20 cooling pad, but remember to take it with you everywhere and use the only USB port...unless you also buy a hub for additional USB ports. 1 USB Port Maybe it's just me, but I usually need more than 1 USB port available, but don't want to carry additional accessories. Keyboard Backlight I prefer my keyboards backlist. I usually like my room lights off while on my laptop and appreciate a little backlight for occasional needs. Signs of Use but packaged as New I saw a few signs of previous use, but the laptop was packaged as if new. That is concerning. PROS: 1. Love the way typing on this keyboard feels. Smooth. Can type fast and not miss keystrokes. 2. Numeric keypad. It's getting harder to find higher quality laptops with NUM pads. Gaming laptops are usually your high end options and don't often carry NUM pads. Having a NUM pad is important to me though. This laptop has it. 3. Sleek design! I love the look. My favorite so far. 4. Easy setup. 5. 802.11AX. This is beneficial for longevity. While the mass public isn't quite on-board with AX wifi - it's here and is the next step in better wifi performance. It should last you 3-5 years. Overall, it's a nice laptop, but the big killer for me is the excessive heat. I own a cooling pad, but purchased this laptop out of town. I'm not pleased at how crazy hot it gets so quick (not setting on the bed either) and also getting a blue screen of death within hours of purchase...likely because of overheating already. That alone has me looking at other laptop options. While I own a port hub & cooling pad, I don't want to worry about toting accessories when traveling. Sometimes, I only have room for the laptop, not everything else. Sadly, because of the overheating, I must give 1 star because this 1 issue can quickly kill a laptop faster than one would expect. A consumer shouldn't have to pay for extended warranties to protect against a manufacturer's design flaw. Rather disappointed despite how slick this comp looks.

Unfortunately I purchased a "lemon", within the first two weeks I took the computer in twice and called the squad once. The computer would turn on but it would not connect to the internet unless I did a "hard restart/reset", this is very frustrating as I work in telehealth and have 20+ patients waiting to see me daily. Prior to this purchase I bought a surface pro in 02/2021 from Best Buy. When I would go to login to see patients the surface pro would randomly not start up. After this occurred 3-4 times I exchanged it for the HP due to an expected amount of frustration and anxiety. Unfortunately, I purchased another computer that has also not been reliable. I brought the HP back prior to the 14 day time frame and requested to exchange it, but there was not any other HP Spectre's in stock. It has been 2 months and the computer is still not in stock. With that being said, I love the computer, when it works. I just need something reliable. This is not only impacting my income but it is also impacting the patients that I am scheduled to see.
