Horrible laptop for a very expensive HP.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop less than 2 years ago. So far, Geek Squad has replaced the motherboard twice, the graphics card, the network card - basically everything inside. Now once again, the graphics card is going out. I have always had HP's but I have never had one with this many issues. I am so very disappointed in HP and this laptop. I've resorted to using my 6 year old HP which runs better than the newer one.

Very hot bad guy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hottest laptop to the touch I ever had. If you use it on your video editing or something heavy it will burn your hand while you type on the keyboard

webcam not compatible with 4k display
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.unfortunately the webcam provides a blurry and fuzzy picture on zoom or skype calls! Your geek squad tech said it was because the camera was 720p and the display as 4K and I would need to purchase a 1080p camera to get a clear picture. The HP tech said it appears that the camera is defective and wants me to return it to HP for repair. not happy

Broken operating system
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to do development on this computer but the microsoft constant MAX_PATH was not set properly and I had no way to change it. As a result I had to return the computer. Otherwise this HP Spectre has a terabyte of ssd memory which is wonderful. Beware: USB-A ports are replaced with USB-C. You will probably have to buy quite a few new cables or cable adapters.

Avoid this!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know if I should blame the laptop or windows, but I was only able to use this computer about half a dozen times before the OS took leave of its senses. It has crawled to less than a snail's pace and takes forever just to get to the windows login prompt. I'm debating whether to try to return it or just do a Linux install instead. Unfortunately, I threw away the packaging (I was travelling when I bought it), which may force me to the latter approach.

HP Spectre Issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After only 12 days, the left shift key stopped functioning. After an hour on the phone with HP, they determined it was a hardware issue and would require 7-10 days to repair. Just before that, I had had problems with the sound (although I was able to fix that through the internal troubleshooting) and Google Chrome would not work on it no matter how many times I uninstalled and reinstalled.

Good only for few days
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst laptop ever, 6 months to hve it and after one update the wifi modem stopped working permanently. HP support does not even respond or offer any troubleshooting. Best buy also offer few hundred dollar service to take a look. It has no warranty or support at all. S/N 5CD023CKJP Total rip-off.

NOT OLED
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is NOT a OLED ! Some of the Best Buy stores have this model on display ad claim on the display model in writing that this is an OLED.( IS IS NOT! ) They sales men will tell you it is an OLED. This is an AMLED not OLED a big difference. Go to HP website it is not listed as OLED Best Buy has no concern to change it and keeps pushing it as an OLED!

Bad Scratchy sound
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a good laptop if you are using external monitor because when you connect the laptop to external monitor it sounds so bad and you will not be able to focus on your work or writing, not recommended at all for people who use external monitor, docking station or like quite laptops. The laptop looks amazing but quality is poor.

Stay away from HP at all costs.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WiFi and Bluetooth stopped working about 2 weeks after 1 yr warranty expired. At first, I thought an update might have changed something, but after a bit of research; it appears the hardware is just garbage.

Functionality
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have not had this item for one full year and I suspect Best Buy sold me a CPO or Referbished product. The screen will black out from time to time and will not come back on unless you repeated may press the power button and it decides to come on.

Do not buy - faulty hardware
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hard Drive failed less than a year after purchase. HP Support offered zero data recovery and only offered me a replacement laptop. I would not buy another HP product again after this experience.
