I told person helping me I didn't know much about computers and he kept talking in technical terms I didn't understand, ( I suffer from parkinsons and alzheimers diseases). I purchased a computer several years ago from Best Buy and was happy with the purchase. If possible I would like to return the computer I now have and repurchase a better model

I had trouble from day one with this HP computer. I had viruses everytime I turned it on, even though I had Mcafee and At&t connectech. I finally took it back to Best Buy after everyone I spoke to about it said it was a lemon. Could never get it to work correctly. I exchanged it for a Toshiba and never have I had the first problem after 2 weeks.

the sales person gave me such high exspectation about this laptop, But i found it not to be user friendly, pretty annoying actually. I just needed something simply just strictly to write papers on as well as my high school daughter to so as well and even these simple things will make you wanna pull your hair out with this laptop.

If you are expecting it to function like a $1000 laptop, then obviously you should buy something else. This does everything most of us need it to do. PROS: Touch screen fast processor lightweight pretty :) BEYOND AFFORDABLE!! Comes with WIndows 8, and a free upgrade to Windows 10 CONS: no port for ethernet (who DOESN'T use wireless though, really...) no sd card reader (easy enough to get one that plugs into the USB port) Not much memory, but I have a 1TB external hard drive, so no worries, plus it comes with OneDrive, a cloud service for saving things. It is awesome. I only use my MacBook Pro for photo editing because I didn't want to purchase new editing software, but I use my HP Stream for everything else!

This PC has limitations, but great bones.

The first thing I will say is, if you need a lot of onboard storage, this PC doesn't have it. That is due to the solid state drive, which actually has more pluses than minuses. Solid state drives do not have the working parts and require a cooling fan like conventional drives do. Because of that, they stay cooler and run faster - which is a bonus with this PC. Your storage can either be on the cloud service through OneDrive (you get a 1-year subscription to OneDrive), OR you can opt to buy an external hard drive, or USB flash sticks to add to the storage. I bought an extra 32 G USB flash stick with mine, and I definitely needed it. I don't use the cloud service, because I don't need to share any of the files on my PC, and don't want to be dependent on a cloud service later on, and have to pay for it. That is a personal preference on my part. But, as it turned out, I needed that USB flash stick to download the Win 10 OS for my free upgrade. I had downloaded some apps before the upgrade, and then didn't have enough space on my drive C to contain the starter files for my Win 10 upgrade. So, I downloaded the Win 10 starter files onto my 32 G USB flash drive, then installed the new Win 10 OS, and it worked just fine. I was later given the option to remove the old Win 8.1 OS to clear up more space on my drive C, which I did. I did all of that about 1 month after purchase, when my McAfee LiveSafe subscription ran out (you only get 30 days of free security with this laptop, before having to pay an annual subscription.). So, after installing the new Win 10 OS, I then opted to install a free security system. I tried AVG Free, and discovered that it was not good enough, so I switched to ZoneAlarm Free, which works great (downloaded at CNET). If you opt to do that, make sure that you choose a free security system that is Win 10 compatible - not all of them are. (There should be a listing of operating systems that the security system is compatible with, and the one you select should say, "compatible with Windows 10". If it doesn't, find one that does.) Once I tweaked everything the way I wanted it, I have really been able to enjoy this PC. It's super fast, I can play web-based games on it, it types like a dream, and is lightweight and has a long enough battery life that I can take it just about anywhere. The only thing that I think I would like to add next is more memory. But, for now, the functionality is great, and I really enjoy using it. This PC has great bones, you just need to add a few accessories to get all the 'bells and whistles" that a larger-drive PC would have. It got me online, and back to work, which is what I bought it for. I gave it 4 stars for the "unknowns" and subsequent tweaks that were necessary on my end to get it where I needed it to be - none of which were advertised or explained to me prior to purchase. I would suggest getting an extra memory card, and a minimum extra 32 G of storage when you buy it, to compensate for the low memory and lack of storage on drive C. It's still a good bargain, even with those add-ons.

while in the process of initialing the unit. I took it my "my shop" to have them install my business stuff, before that took place according to my "shop" it was already very much infected. Keep in mind, I have virtual no online usage other than setting things up, cost me money and lots of lost time.

Better than my Dell Latitude E5500

I purchased the laptop looking for the most affordable option. I knew that this one had a touch screen and I knew about the limitations in space. I only needed something portable that if destroyed wouldn't be a problem to loose. After 2 months, I am surprised with the high quality of this product. It is fast, portable, fun to use, battery last long... It performs better than many laptops that cost much more. The storage has not been a problem at all. I use my personal cloud anyways, and to be fair if you compress the disk, and add a SD card storage is OK. You can also delete the recovery partition if you need more. I watch tv on it from time to time such as xfinity tv. After one hour of use, only 14% of the battery is spent leaving you still 86%. No noise, no fan, no heat. My powerful I7 laptop with SSD and Radeon graphics is so hot and noisy, and the battery does not go far. My brand new Dell Latitude E5500 is hot and battery last less by comparison and it is heavier. Go ahead buy it. HP is making great computers. And the price is unbeatable!
