Got it when it was $500 pretty good specs but the build quality not the best. Especially the charger. A piece of it broke and got stuck when I plugged it out. Other than that, I would recommend it was $500 or less again.

I was in need of a new laptop because the one that I got in 2015 from Best Buy had been maxed out on RAM upgrades at 16GB and performance was still lagging. It was also only good when plugged in as the battery doesn't hold much of a charge. I wanted to take advantage of tax-free shopping in Florida for back-to-school time so decided to check out what Best Buy had to offer. Also had some Rewards Dollars to spend and some gift certificates from work so thought I could score a good deal all things considered. After much comparison shopping analyzing the specs available for all laptops available at various price points, I came to the conclusion that this would be the best deal at $519.99 marked down from $799. Since it was tax-free time, RAM was included in the savings, so I was able to upgrade this machine by getting two sticks of 16GB RAM also on sale. Total purchase price was under $600, not factoring in my rewards and gift certificates. The upgrade was very easy for me to do at my kitchen table with my electronics toolkit and some latex gloves. It took less than hour, stopping to take pictures along the way. The hardest part was carefully removing the back of it once the screws were out. Really just needed to find a good starting point and then slowly and carefully work around the perimeter from there. Another plus with this laptop when I was looking is that this could be upgraded to 32GB of RAM whereas many of the non-gaming laptops were more limited. They often have one of their memory sticks soldered to the motherboard. The machine is super-fast! I went with a gaming laptop not so much because I intended to game on it but figured it would have better components. The extra size did not concern me much because it was still much smaller than the other laptops we have, and I have a tablet with a keyboard anyway if portable was the primary concern. The backlit keyboard was another big selling point for me along with having a numeric keypad built in. I didn't want to have to deal with always being in a lit room to use the laptop and this was a great option that you can turn on/off with the press of a function key. The keyboard is really nice to type on as well which is another plus. The laptop boots up extremely fast and can handle anything I have thrown at it so far. I will most likely utilize this while on the go for personal work and some video editing since it has a dedicated graphics card. We have been converting old VHS tapes and this will help with some of that work as well. I like the aesthetics of it as well and the "V" on the front is pretty cool and a conversation starter for those not familiar with Victus, as I was not prior to this purchase. I would recommend this laptop to others. Maybe not for the hard-core gamer types but for anybody looking to maximize the value they get for money spent.

Within 1 month of having this laptop it started having problems turning on. The mouspad started glitching, the RAM slots are different sizes. Computer is SLOW. NOT good for editing. Everything about this laptop makes me want to spend 2k on another one to make sure i never deal with the BS this laptop made me deal with. Waste of money. Im giving it away because its not worth anyone spending a dollar on it.

The HP Victus 15.6" gaming laptop is a true gem that brings together powerful performance, impressive visuals, and a touch of elegance at an affordable price. From the moment I started using it, I was amazed at how well it handled my gaming needs while maintaining a sleek and stylish design. First and foremost, the performance of this laptop is remarkable. The AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS processor, paired with 8GB of DDR5 memory, ensures smooth and responsive multitasking. Whether I'm gaming, streaming, or working on productivity tasks, the laptop keeps up without any hiccups. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 graphics card adds an extra layer of power, allowing me to enjoy visually stunning games with ease. The 15.6" Full HD display with a fast 144Hz refresh rate is a delight for gamers. The visuals are crisp and vibrant, and the high refresh rate makes gameplay incredibly smooth and immersive. From intense action sequences to exploring vast open worlds, the display does justice to every gaming moment. The laptop's design is sleek and sophisticated, with a mica silver finish that exudes a touch of elegance. It's not just about looks, though; the build quality feels robust and durable, assuring me of its longevity. The backlit keyboard is comfortable to use, with well-spaced keys that offer a satisfying typing experience, even during extended gaming or typing sessions. Storage-wise, the 512GB SSD provides ample space for my games, files, and applications. It ensures quick boot times and snappy load times, contributing to an overall smooth computing experience. One aspect that truly impressed me is the laptop's cooling performance. Even during extended gaming sessions, the HP Victus maintains a reasonably cool temperature, thanks to its efficient cooling system. No more worrying about overheating affecting performance - it's all about focused and uninterrupted gameplay. The laptop's port selection is practical, featuring a good number of USB ports, an HDMI port, and an audio jack. Connectivity options are plentiful, making it easy to hook up all my gaming peripherals and external devices. In conclusion, the HP Victus 15.6" gaming laptop is an excellent choice for gamers and users who seek a powerful and elegant machine without breaking the bank. Its AMD Ryzen processor, NVIDIA GeForce graphics, and ample DDR5 memory deliver a commendable gaming performance. The stunning display, comfortable keyboard, and efficient cooling further add to the overall positive experience. If you're looking for a reliable and a computer than won't break the bank this is it. The performance of the 2050 is good for the price range, for games like Cyberpunk 2077 I average 55fps on medium settings and 35 on high. Other games such as Rocket league and GTA V looked amazing too. The computer was plugged in and fan speeds were loud but not as loud as other laptops I've had in the past ,the display of 144hz is very good. Storage capacity is more than enough 512gb, I'm able to download other games too and still have left over for any work or other things I need to download. I probably will upgrade the ram on this computer cause 8gb is good, but if you have other things running in the background 16gb would be ideally for me. So for the $550 it cost it is definitely worth the money.

I recently purchased a Victus 15 laptop from Best Buy, and I couldn't be more pleased with the entire shopping experience. From the moment I walked into the store, the customer service was exceptional. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, guiding me through the various laptop options available and helping me find the perfect fit for my needs. The Victus 15 laptop itself is fantastic. It has a sleek design, powerful performance, and excellent features that meet all my requirements for both work and play. The display is crisp and vibrant, the keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the overall build quality is impressive. It's definitely a great value for the price. What really stood out to me was the seamless purchase process. The staff at Best Buy made sure I understood all the features and specifications of the laptop, answered all my questions with patience, and even helped me set it up before I left the store. They also offered helpful advice on additional accessories and protection plans, ensuring I had everything I needed to get started. Additionally, Best Buy's in-store experience was safe and pleasant. A really nice laptop, no scam. I've been enjoying it a lot so far, and it might be my favorite laptop I've had. I was looking for a laptop that I could game on but still at the same time use as a college laptop, and I was not at all disappointed. Don't let its bulky appearance scare you - it is a really nice laptop that runs all the games that I've played on it really smoothly on max graphics. I do actually enjoy its bulkiness, as I drop things all the time and this thing is TOUGH. Sometimes when I'm turning corners, I accidentally hit my bag on the corner with my laptop in it, and this laptop hasn't had any issues whatsoever with that. would buy this laptop again if I ever needed to. Super fast and super nice quality. Also, doesn't come with any annoying program installed like McAffee or whatever. Also on top of all that, I think it just LOOKS really cool. The LED isn't over the top [unless you want it to be] and the BACK of the laptop looks extremely sleek, with it being mainly black with a darker black "V" in the middle. The keys also feel really nice to press, and its not noisy whatsoever. Battery life isn't AMAZING, but it's solid, not necessarily bad. It's good enough to get me throughout the day without having to charge it again, especially if you have the battery saver on. Sleek performance, sleek exterior. Great laptop if you want something that can handle anything, and [also the exterior] looks nice while it does it.

Fellow gamers, listen up! I've been testing out the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop, and it's a beast of a machine for the price. I'm talking about smooth gameplay, stunning visuals, and a sleek design that'll make your friends drool. First off, let's talk about the performance. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 graphics card make this laptop a powerhouse. I've been throwing everything I can at it, from AAA titles to indie gems, and it hasn't skipped a beat. The graphics are crystal clear and the framerates are consistently high, even during intense action sequences. The display is another major selling point. The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel is vibrant and detailed, bringing my games to life. The 144Hz refresh rate is a gamer's dream, making sure that every movement is buttery smooth. No more tearing or motion blur – just pure, uninterrupted gaming bliss. When it comes to storage, the Victus has you covered with a 512GB SSD. This means lightning-fast boot times and loading speeds, so you can get into your games and start dominating the competition in no time. The design of the Victus is also pretty slick. The Mica Silver finish is both stylish and professional, and the angular design gives it a touch of gamer-chic. The backlit keyboard is a nice touch, too, letting you game comfortably in low-light conditions. Overall, the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop is an absolute steal for its price. It's got the performance, the visuals, and the style that any gamer would be proud of. If you're looking for a budget-friendly laptop that can handle even the most demanding games, the Victus is definitely worth checking out.

Impressed with the RTX 2050 card

Purchased this as a new household PC for light use around the house (web browsing, MS Office use, photo management, etc.), but have started playing modern games on it after testing out how well it could game. It is powerful enough to run Starfield with medium to high settings. I am super impressed by the performance of the RTX2050. Note, you must plug the power adapter when playing high demanding games and the fans can get a little loud while gaming, not obnoxiously loud, but you may want to wear headphones or earbuds while playing a game. Coming from a time where this type of video card/heat dissipation was only possible in a desktop, I am very impressed. Note, this only has one SSD slot thus I replaced the original 500GB HD with a 2TB HD. Also added an 8GB stick of memory for a total of 16GB of memory. It came with one open memory slot (8GB in one of the two memory slots). I purchased during a sale, thus even with the upgrades I did, this is a super value but very capable machine.

You get what you pay for. I bought this computer for $499 on sale because I needed something primarily for work, especially for Photoshop and video editing. However, as a gamer, I also wanted an affordable option that could handle gaming decently. The Nvidia 2050 graphics card falls short on many big games; you won’t be able to run multiplayer games like COD or Halo 5 at a steady 120fps. They are still playable, but you’ll get around 50-60fps depending on the game. I also upgraded the RAM from 8GB to 32GB since my work requires multitasking with many programs open simultaneously. If you’re looking to purchase this computer, make sure to also buy DDR5 RAM. A 16GB upgrade costs about $60, and 32GB is around $90, but it will significantly improve performance. I also bought a 2TB external hard drive because the included 500GB storage isn’t enough in the long run, which costs around $80 depending on the size. Other than that, I love the laptop. It’s not the best, but it impresses more often than it disappoints. If you’re looking for a cheap option that can still run games at a decent rate, this one can deliver with a few adjustments.

I bought this laptop for gaming and casual use, and I am mostly satisfied with it. The laptop has a sleek design and a nice silver color. The keyboard is comfortable and has RGB lighting(only color as far as I can tell white). The screen is bright and has good viewing angles. The speakers are decent, but not very loud which I’m good with since I Bluetooth headphones. The performance of the laptop is impressive for the price. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 graphics card can handle most games at high settings without any lag or overheating. The 512GB SSD is fast and has enough space for my games and files. The 8GB memory is adequate, but I would recommend upgrading it to 16GB for better multitasking. The battery life of the laptop is average, lasting about 4 hours on normal use and 2 hours on gaming. The laptop also comes with a fast charger that can charge it up to 50% in 30 minutes. I’ve used the webcam yet, but I don't use it. The laptop does not have an optical drive, but that's not a big deal for me. Overall, I think this is a great laptop for gaming and casual use, especially for the price. It has some minor drawbacks, but nothing that would make me regret buying it. I would recommend this laptop to anyone who is looking for a powerful and affordable gaming laptop.

The HP Victus RTX 2050 is a decent laptop for the price. HP definitely improved their cooling. It stays cool, it's rather loud, but not as loud as previous models. You can manually adjust the fan which is a plus. The cpu has integrated graphics, when switching to the RTX 2050, you receive about a 40% FPS boost. You manually set which GPU to each app, which extends the battery life. The battery life isn't the greatest even with power saving mode and turning off the 2050. If you see this on sale and a 3050 is $100 or more extra, grab this. It's only a handful of FPS slower. The build is solid, zero flexing, the backlight is nice and bright. It feels nice in the hands. Finger prints are at a minimum. The sound is okay, HP downgraded the volume a bit though. I don't like how if you have a mouse plugged in, it's still powered even if the laptop is shut off, resulting in a drained battery when you turn it on. I don't have much bad to say about this laptop.
