Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU RAM: 16GB DDR5 Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD Performance This laptop absolutely delivers when it comes to raw power. The Ryzen 7 CPU handles multitasking and heavy workloads with ease — whether you're editing 4K video, compiling large codebases, or running multiple virtual machines. Paired with the RTX 4070, gaming performance is phenomenal. Most modern AAA titles run on Ultra settings at 1080p or 1440p with high, stable frame rates. Thermals & Noise Fans do ramp up during intense gaming or rendering sessions, but it's expected with this hardware. Temperatures stay within reasonable limits, and thermal throttling has been minimal in my experience. I recommend using a cooling pad if you're running it under load for long periods. Battery Life As with most high-performance laptops, battery life isn’t the strong point — I get about 4–6 hours on light usage, but much less when gaming or editing. This is more of a desktop replacement than a long-day unplugged machine. Ideal For Gamers who want high FPS on modern titles Content creators (video editing, 3D rendering, graphic design) Developers working on GPU-heavy projects or simulations Power users who need serious multitasking capability Pros Outstanding performance for the price Handles gaming and creative work effortlessly Premium CPU/GPU combo Fast boot and load times with the SSD Cons Battery life is just okay Fans can get loud under load Final Verdict If you're looking for a laptop that blends desktop-class performance with decent portability, this AMD Ryzen 7 + RTX 4070 combo is hard to beat. Whether you're gaming, creating, or just need the horsepower for demanding work, it's a smart investment.

Computer is great. Bought on sale for $899 and had points so got in even cheaper. There are better laptops out there but $900 and 4070 GPU it's worth it. Will be changing out the ram and storage after warranty period over. As is, the laptop is fast, runs games great, doesn't get too hot. Screen is meh, but I use a monitor anyways.

This gaming laptop ticked a lot of boxes. The full power 4070 mobile is wonderful. The powerful efficient ryzen 7, 8000 series pulls through without a hitch. Additionally, the cooling system on this device is remarkably good at cooling although, somewhat loud. The sound is mostly just the sound of air rushing. The fans themselves dont have any high pitched whine like some other laptops. I had no issues running this device with black ops 6 on maximum settings. The resolution is full hd 1080p with ips matte display which was very crisp and glare free. Although one major drawback for me is color accuracy. I am not doing Esports with this machine so a higher grade of color gamut would be preferred for my use case. (I game casually and prefer better color accuracy and resolution) Pros. 1. Excellent cooling. 2. Very powerful hardware. 3. Price when on sale. 4. Upgradeable ram. 5. Light weight. 6. Good battery life. 7. Crispy full hd antiglare display. Cons. 1. upgradability of ssd. There is a single m.2 ssd slot. 2. The chassis is all plastic and the screen flexes very easily. 3. The screen has roughly 63 percent srgb color gamut and some significant back light bleed or at least mine did. 4. Keyboard is very spongey feeling with not very defining clicks. 5. Track pad follows suit with keyboard. non defining clicks and poor tracking. Good portable gaming system if plug into external monitor you can crank up the resolution while getting superior color gamut. However in laptop mode the screen is quite lackluster. It does the job though with good battery life in place of great screen. Trade offs sometimes need made right. Overall I do recommend this laptop for gaming, Not for productivity though its kind of a single use machine in my opinion. Subpar keyboard and track pad No photo editing unless using external monitor. If you plan to use all external peripherals, this machine would excel at anything you need within reason of hardware limitations of course. Thank you for reading my review, I hope it is as comprehensive as possible and aids you in your final decision whether or not to purchase this machine for your use case.

Excellent performance got it on sale for $900 and definitely worth it at that price. Only downside I have experienced is the screen has some back light bleed in the bottom left corner but only really noticeable on a black screen and of course the battery life is horrible but you don’t buy this laptop for battery performance. The fans are loud but that’s to be expected but in turn they keep the laptop surprisingly cool. I don’t regret my purchase one bit.

    HP Victus RTX 4070 Laptop

HP Victus RTX 4070 Laptop – After Upgrades, This Thing Rips I got this HP Victus 16.1” gaming laptop not too long ago, and I’ve already upgraded it with 32GB of RAM and a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD — and wow, it flies now. Even before the upgrades, this thing was solid. The Ryzen 7 8845HS and RTX 4070 combo is crazy fast. Out of the box, it handled everything I threw at it — gaming, editing, multitasking — no stutters, no lag. But after the upgrade? It’s like it unlocked beast mode. Games like Call of Duty, Forza, and even heavier stuff like Cyberpunk run smooth as butter on high/ultra settings. Temps stay under control, fan noise is there when it needs to be, but nothing too wild. The 16.1-inch screen is bright and sharp, great for gaming and streaming. The speakers are okay, not amazing, but I usually wear a headset anyway. Keyboard is really comfortable, and the layout doesn’t feel cramped at all. With the 32GB of DDR5, I can run heavy software, emulators, VMs, and still have room to breathe. And that 4TB 990 Pro SSD? It loads everything instantly. I’ve got all my games, files, videos — no need to worry about space now. Battery life is average, but let’s be real — this is a performance laptop. Plug it in and unleash it. Overall, I’m honestly in love with this setup. For the price I paid, and with the upgrades, I feel like I have a desktop-level machine that I can take anywhere. HP really nailed it with this one.

    Exceeded My Expectations

I will be directly comparing this to the Asus G16 4070 i7 (Non OLED) which is what my gf bought last month. To summarize, the Asus is overall prettier, and the HP has a more powerful processor and better ventilation. For the gamers out there, you are looking at 30-80 more fps with the HP depending on the game. 70c at max gpu load, and idles around 35c. 45c while watching Youtube 4k 60fps. +5c-10cfor the CPU. For reference, you're looking at 250+fps with Rainbow Six Siege on max settings (32gb ram). Both laptops are amazing deals. Here are the things I dislike about the HP Victus. Number one is the size of the power adapter. It is larger and heavier than the Asus'. Second is the location of the power jack and the majority of the USB inputs. They're on the right side, where I use my mouse...why. Lastly, it has no secondary storage. Oh, and if it matters to anyone, HP does the absolute minimum when it comes to packaging. The laptop is sandwiched between 2 thin and soft egg cartons. I highly recommend buying it from the physical store because if you buy it online, they will be shipped via OnTrac. Anyway, the reviews here got me worried about the quality of screen and keyboard. They're totally fine. The screen quality is typical of a 300 nit IPS panel and the keyboard is normally spaced. The keys don't wiggle around. They press nicely. The speakers are plenty loud and not tinny. They sound better than the TUF lineup from Asus. The only real bloatwares I found preinstalled were McAfee softwares and they were very easy to uninstall. I was pleasantly surprised with the OMEN app and the stock HP apps. They're actually useful and don't hog resources. I don't know what else to say. This will run anything. It's not stunning but it's also not ugly. I think the biggest weakness of this laptop is the battery life. On eco mode, you're only looking at 5-7hrs of use. Regardless, even at $1299 this would be a great deal. I bought mine on sale for $899. I still can't believe it. Like everyone said, this thing is a beast.

At the price or was offered for this was a steal for an all-out 1080 laptop. I was able to upgrade the RAM to 64GB and purchase a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro and got a price point just over $1100. It easily runs WoW and other MMO games maxed out (plugged in). Settings do drop on battery, but that's not my intended use case.

Pretty decent price/performance, esp if picked up on one of its common sales. Got mine for ~$879 around cyber monday '24, but saw it down as low as $850 after that. Powerful GPU and CPU. Upgraded with 64GB kit of Kingston memory, and a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB m.2 SSD. I notice a performance hit on the GPU when I try to use a thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable to my monitor, vs when I'm using the built in display or using the HDMI output. The HDMI seems to be directly connected to the 4070, while the output through thunderbolt to DP seems to be doing the "work" with the 4070, but routing output through the Radeon 780M, causing a 10%-20% hit on overall performance (when using video output from thunderbolt only). This was annoying because I wanted to use a dock for the video output, as well as connecting up my peripherals, but to get full-power video output I need to use the HDMI on the laptop. Just a quirk to be aware of. Fan can get noticeably loud under heavy load.

Got this $500 off (wait for that sale) and that made it totally worth it. I'm so impressed with the performance of this, especially after grabbing 32GB DDR5 for $99. They have a YouTube video specifically for this laptop and it's extremely detailed about how to replace pretty much everything under the hood. What surprised me even further is that the fans aren't obnoxious like I expected them to be. They can spin up fast during heavy operations (games or AI) but when they do they're not that bad. Great design, doesn't scream "I'm a gamer and love LED lights". Gets the job done at a great price. Will update my review if I encounter anything bad.

I just picked up this machine on a $500 discount. At sub $900 before taxes, the price to performance ratio is incredible! Pros: Amazing cpu and GPU combination on a laptop. Both can handle most games with ease on a mobile platform. The overall handling of the computer is great and it should be a good workhorse for a while. Cons: Doubt this will replace any meaningful gaming desktop but that is ok for a lot of people. My biggest complaint is the on-board SSD at only 512GB. I wanted to add a secondary drive to this but as soon as I opened it up I saw that there is only one M.2 SSD drive slot. I upgraded it to a 2TB right away but would have been nice to have a second slot for an additional drive. The touchpad sucks. I have had it for less that 12 hours and it gets stuck and locked up a bunch. Heat, even when I am not playing any games this computer is getting hot to touch around the middle of the keyboard even just during regular web browsing. However!!! These cons can most be overlooked due to the price to performance ratio at the $500 discount. But, I would not spend the full price for this machine.

I am a content creator and I was complaining alot about how i travel alot and cant play the games I like to play, then my friend told me i should get this laptop and he said its decent and should be good ENOUGH for my expectations. I bought this laptop on sale for 900 dollars pretty good deal if u ask me but anyways I bought it and I played a some games with it. I like to play marvel rivals and I mostly played that and I was more than happy with how it performed like on lowest setting u get around 300 fps but since the display on this is only 144 hz u will only see 144 fps so i decided to put it on max graphics and max everything at it got around 60 to 140 fps which is way better then I thought it would do. But this was all on a stable charge,I tried it on battery and dont get me wrong its still good but its ALOT worse but its whatever I guess. One thing i didnt really like about it was how loud it was but I play on headphones and if you play on headphones you WILL NOT hear this machine. Over all I like this laptop and its good for content creation as well as gaming really all I needed was a 4070 and anything more then that would be too expensive so if u can find a deal for this and at the time of reviewing this machime its on sale SO GET THIS I LOVE IT!

Great price to performance with the star of the show being the 4070 GPU. You won't find another laptop or desktop below $1000.00 but with that being said. HP had to cut some corners as majority of the budget went to the GPU then the processor. The screen is a high refresh rate but that's about it, 1080p is a weak point but you won't probably won't tell the difference on a 16inch screen but colors are washed when turning on HDR. Also, I upgraded from 16GB RAM to 32 for faster loading times and multitasking. However the 512GB hard drive is just an insult. You would be lucky to get 4 major title games loaded. So I had to upgrade to 2TB Nvme. So I paid about $765 for an open box which was fantastic. Then $100 for 32GB RAM and $120 for Nvme. Addressing my 2 biggest issues besides the screen and still less than $1k

Really powerful laptop. Has almost all the features I needed in a laptop to be used for college and gaming. I am coming from Asus G14 which is very light but not very powerful. This is a welcome change. Did Firestrike and Time spy tests in 3d Mark. It shines in all of them. The best thing I noticed about this laptop is that temps never exceed 80 during gaming or benchmarks. Build quality is so so. Can only charge through 65 W charger when it is off. Tried various 100 watt but could not make it work. Screen is Okayish not very bad, would be wonderful if it was 16:10 instead of 16:9. I liked the keyboard and touchpad of G14 more. Battery life could be better. But in the end, it has the best value for money for a gaming laptop with rtx4070.

Absolutely love this thing. I upgraded the ssd and memeory asap as it only had a 512gb ssd and 16gb memory. But light up Keyboard is a plus and the graphics card was a huge plus for the cost. Even with ultra graphics turned on im still getting 60-100 fps. On medium graphics its 150-200 fps. So if your looking for a gaming cpu that wont break the bank and will play most AAA games with ease out the box this is it. Theres only one thing that can get annoying is the fan can get quite loud. But i use a cooling pad underneath so that helps keep it cool enough to keep the fams from turning on full blast.

I read some reviews about some of the dislikes and when I received it I tested those things. The screen is fine. Looks very good to me. Sounds fine and does not run hot. I tested it both in gaming and 3d animations I do. Its MUCH better than the Asus Tuf I just got rid of which also had a 4070. This is an excellent laptop. Could use more space but we can all buy the space we want depending on what you want to do with it. Also, as with any laptop, UPDATE it fully before using to get the best performance. Including the GPU drivers. That should go without saying, but some people just play out of the box with minimal updates without taking the time to set things up. Devices need to be updated out of box. As for brightness, turn....it....up. Looks great

Great computer well built, and at 900 for the 4070 it was the best deal of the 24 holiday season for 4070s in the price range as this is better than the loq and worth the extra 20 compared to that one. I love it and it works well for Fortnite and other games Screen doesn’t do hdr which is kinda lame considering the beefy card that can output beautiful graphics but the picture still looks nice. Volume isn’t that loud but max vol is good enough for gaming, not much louder than a phone Just needs to be plugged in if gaming Overall worth the cost when it was on sale for the card. I will probably upgrade to 32gb ram since 16 kinda bottlenecks the card but only on really intense games. Will also get a larger ssd since it only had like 400 gb after OS download and one game

    Pros & Cons

✅ Pros 1. Strong gaming and general performance The Ryzen 7-8845HS + RTX 4070 chipset is capable of handling demanding AAA games at 1080p (and decent settings at higher resolutions) with good frame rates. Users report smooth performance, minimal stutters, and good multitasking ability. In reviews, the laptop is praised for being a “great gaming laptop for the price.” 2. Upgradeable components RAM and SSD are user-replaceable / upgradeable in many cases, giving you room to expand later. Some users already swap in larger SSDs or more RAM to boost performance. 3. Decent battery life for a gaming laptop (in light use) In non-gaming use, reviewers got decent results (e.g. ~6+ hours) for web browsing, standard tasks. Though battery life under heavy gaming is much shorter (as expected). 4. Port selection & features It offers a healthy set of ports (USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet) to support external displays, peripherals, etc. Good keyboard and trackpad experience (keyboard is often cited as comfortable) 5. Value (performance per dollar) especially on discount When discounted (e.g. Best Buy deals), it’s considered a strong value for what you get. Many user reviewers say it's “a steal” at the price point. --- ⚠️ Cons / Trade-offs 1. Display quality is weak / underwhelming in some cases The base display is 1080p (Full HD) at 144 Hz, which is fine for many games—but reviewers note the color / contrast / panel quality is lacking. Some ghosting / slow response times in the 144 Hz panel, and no support for variable refresh (VRR) is a downside. In darker / low-light viewing, contrast / blacks may look washed out. 2. Fan noise / thermal / heat issues under load Under gaming or heavy load, the laptop can get hot and fans become loud. Some users note heat buildup and that the cooling is effective but audible. 3. Battery life is poor under gaming / heavy use As expected, when gaming or running demanding tasks, battery drains fast (1–2 hours or less). This is a common trade-off for gaming laptops; you’ll generally need to keep it plugged in for highest performance. 4. 512 GB SSD may be limiting For modern games (many of which are large in size) the included 512 GB may fill up quickly. Many users upgrade it. 5. Build / portability trade-offs It is somewhat bulky and heavy (for a laptop) to carry around regularly. The hinge / lid may flex a bit or have some wobble according to some reviews. In user reviews, some wished the display resolution was higher or that more premium panels were used. 6. Bloatware / software overhead Some users complain
