Decent specs for the price. As soon as I bought it, I opened it up and switched out the 250gb m.2 sdd for a 1tb m.2 and a 500gb m.2 and swapped out the 2x4gb RAM for 2x8gb. I was surprised there wasn't a 2.5 inch hdd bay, but at least there were 2xm.2 slots. I didn't realize that the rtx 3050 actually has two versions and they don't really advertise that fact. This laptop has the lower wattage version, which is also lower performance, but it's decent and a huge step up from my previous laptop with an rtx 1050ti. I don't play the latest games, but it runs games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Rust and CS:GO on decent settings. Most of the time, I use it connected to a monitor, mouse, keyboard and usb hard drive through a usb-c hub and it works great. When i use it on the go, the hinge feels a little flimsy. Overall, it was a great upgrade, but not perfect.

I bought this and a 1TB ssd and 16GB of ram. I used it for a few days with the 8GB and it doesn’t seem to have any problems running that way but it really should have more if you intend to play any resource taxing games on it. Altogether it was less than $1000 since this was on sale. I’d say in today’s market that’s not bad, since video cards are selling for double their MSRP still. It’s true that for a 2 or 3 hundred more you could upgrade to an msi or asus with a RTX 3060 and basically the same specs. But maybe 500GB storage instead, but would still require upgrading storage and ram if you intend to play a dozen or so games. The 256GB of storage is actually fine for productivity usage but simply won’t cut it for any modern games that take up 150GB or more. Hence why I got the 1TB drive. The RTX 3050 runs mcc good and it runs cooler and quieter than my omen 15 despite having less ventilation..

Specs in a box. For the price, you are getting modern specs - brand new tiger lake i5, brand new Nvidia series graphics with DLSS support. Tons of ports. Build quality is merely acceptable. however, cooling design is definitely a positive aspect. If you know what you are getting, it's a phenomenal deal.
