This is hands down the most elegant fitness tracker I've found in this price range, especially with a heart rate monitor. It also comes with the option of a large wristband, which is great because I have big wrists and it fits with room to spare. (From the last eyelet to the clasp measures nearly 9 inches!) Add in the water resistance (continuous submersion up to 5 feet for as long as 30 minutes) and you get a total package of physical characteristics that can compete with many devices in higher price ranges. The fitness tracking is pretty standard for this price range, but basic is what I wanted. It does track running, walking, biking, and swimming, so if you want to track any of those specific activities you're covered. It also has some kind of training program you can setup. I recommend studying the features list to make sure it will meet your needs. The app is also fairly standard. I found it easy to use and pair with my device without reading the manual. One nice feature is the app can sync with a couple different third party apps (like MyFitnessPal), which is nice for adding my fitness data to my diet plan and collecting all that info in one place. Notifications seem to work well and I like how when you setup notifications you can choose which phone apps send notifications to the watch. I have only two complaints, both with the software, and possibly related. As other reviewers have stated, the wrist gesture is too sensitive. Sometimes I just try to look at the time and the watch scrolls to the workout shortcut. I think the wrist gesture is a great feature, but would it be possible to add a setting to turn it off? My other complaint is that the watch sometimes automatically starts a workout. I don't know why and haven't found the answer yet in the manual. So maybe it's related to wrist gestures or maybe the device has automatic workout tracking. I do know it typically happens when I move my arms a lot, like unloading groceries from the car, or putting my daughter in and out of her car seat. But whichever the case, would it be possible to also add a setting to turn this off? Overall, this is a great device that competes well in its price range. It's elegant, comfortable, and I feel good wearing in workout gear, everyday clothes, and possibly even in more formal settings (it seriously looks that good!). If I can get passed the two software issues then I can see myself using this for quite awhile!

Thank you for the detailed review, timn. First, we're pleased to hear that you love the style of the FIT, Fit was designed in the Scandinavian style with a sleek metal body, we wanted it to reflect our philosophy of combining functionality and style. With the software issues you mentioned, if they continue to be an issue, please give our customer support a call. It's probably the smartwatch that best meets my need so far: - A very elegant looking with minimalistic design (especially when it's in standby mode and only time is shown) - Always on display, which makes it serves well as a watch - Long battery life: just got it for a few days, but it should last 6-8 days with heart rate tracking, and 1.5-2 weeks without the heart rate tracking (notifications from the phone are turned off, I personally don't need them) - Waterproof, ok to swim or shower with - Changeable watchband Cons: - The waist motion control is too sensitive and might create couple problems. But fortunately, this function can be turned off, and everything is good - It would be even better if the light reflection is diffuse reflection rather than specular reflection - Don't have many gimmicks that complicate operations and reduce battery life Overall: A very elegant smartwatch designed with the minimalism and pragmatism style.

At first glance this appears to be the perfect wearable: Sleek Design Touch Screen 6 Day Battery Life E-Paper Display Continuous Heart Rate Notifications (Text, Email, even Facebook) As a UX designer I had high hopes for App Dashboard. Make it modular. Let users pick what segments/stats they want to see. Adjust order placement as well. More customization on watchfaces. I want to see heart rate, calories, steps, time and date. Half the screen doesn't need to be dedicated to "Start Workout". A simple double tap would suffice. Maybe even allow users to "map" preset workouts. Allow us to say double tap = swim, triple tap = run, etc. The device should work like this: Swipe from top: notifications Swipe left/right to go through notifications Swipe down again: enter the notification deeper Tap: options to clear or close Swipe from bottom to step back to home screen. Swipe from bottom: menu/settings Swipe left/right to navigate through options. Swipe from bottom again: enter menu option deeper. Tap to confirm setting. Swipe from top to step back to home screen. Swipe from right for health/fit info. Swipe up/down to cycle through Heart rate, steps, calories, climb. Tap or swipe from right again to dig deeper into the selection (HR: resting, max/min, avg, current) Swipe from left for workouts. Swipe up/down for swim, run, walk etc. Tap to begin. Overall the harware is solid but the UX needs some love. Huawei you are welcome to contact me and I will provide you with more feedback. To everyone else. This thing can have it all as long as Huawei can dig into the interface a bit more. Even without that it'll work fine. Notifications, HR and watch alone make it worth the $100-130. It's the "Pebble" that I wanted that they totally missed. As a final note. You don't need a high power consuming color display for a watch. That's why you have a phone. This device does as it should. Feeds the data I want for days on end. Overall it's almost there.....

If you want a watch to respond to messages or answer calls on..go elsewhere. It does not do those things and I knew it would not when I bought it. It does however give notifications but is limited to what it displays. Many just .."this message has no content"...when that is not the case. The watch does not do a perfect job of tracking sleep as well. it does OK but frequently misses awake times even if you get up and move about the house . It does have good battery life but not the 5 days it states in the specs. Of course it does say up to 5 days and I have the heart rate turned off to save battery life. It is a nice looking watch but is a bit tedious to get through the menu on the watch face using the touch screen. I got it on sale for a little more than half the normal price and it performs well given that fact. It is no Apple iwatch but never claims to be. I think the software may be the problem with the watch that is at the root of the issues. For the price I paid..I am keeping it because it does manage to do the minimum things I need but nothing more.

      Dear customer,

We thank you for your review and for your kindly feedback, we are always interested in the opinion of our valued customers.

Regarding your concerns that you mentioned in your review we kindly suggest you to check the information mentioned below.

When you see a notification in your Huawei Fit with the message " This message has no content" you need to enable a permission in this specific app so that your Huawei Fit can display the message body.

Regarding your issue with the sleep tracking:

      Extra sleep data recorded inaccurately:
After waking: If you are not very active or don't use the screen, the watch will not exit sleep mode right away. This may result in some extra sleep data being recorded.

Your watch battery life depends on the battery capacity and usage. If you use watch features intensively, this will reduce the standby time.

You can use the following methods to extend the standby time.
Method 1: Open the Huawei Wear app, touch Devices, select your device, touch Message alerts, and turn off applications that do not require notifications.
Method 2: Power consumption is high when your watch and phone frequently disconnect and re-connect. When you do not need your phone, disconnect it from your watch.
Method 3: Power consumption is high when your watch backlight feature is on. Set your watch to automatic backlight mode.
Method 4: Power consumption is high when your watch is set to automatically test your heart rate. Turn this feature off when you do not need it.

We remain at your service. BG HuaweiCustomerCare

I've been looking for a new fitness tracker, and the Huawei Fit meets everything that I'm looking for. Pros: - Lightweight and comfortable to wear - Always-on screen - 5ATM water resistant - Continuous heart rate monitor - Sleep monitor - Different spots modes (treadmill, cycling, etc.) - Long battery life for 6 days Some of the above features are hard to find for fitness trackers of this price range, so I can't really complain. The only Con that I can think of is: - There's no social sharing, but I just take a screen shot and post it

    Nice Fitness Tracker

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've used many different fitness watches, including Garmin, Microsoft Band 2, Fitbit Charge 2, and the Apple Watch. I actually really like this because it works like advertised but also really looks like a watch, I received a compliment on my watch recently which I've never received when wearing everything else. I'm not going to go into things that are mentioned in the previous reviews, rather, I wanted to mention a couple of things I find important. 1. It's got a Gorilla Glass face (and it's low profile on your wrist). It's a fitness watch that gets used while being active which means that it will get bumped some. Both Garmin and Fitbit use plastic lenses and, from my experience, they both scratch very easily, both the Garmin Vivosmart HR and Fitbit Charge 2 were scratched within a couple of days. I think if you have to put a screen protector on a watch or have to be concerned it's going to be scratched from everyday use, then it's time to look for a different watch. Both the Apple watch and the Microsoft Band 2 also use Gorilla glass. 2. You don't have to charge this every night. Monitoring sleep is nice to have as is measuring your heart rate at night. Spiking heart rates can be an indication of a sleeping disorder (sleep apnea). Since this has a 6 (sometimes 7 day) battery, you don't need to carry the charger with you when you travel like I do. This seems trivial, but it's not when you travel a lot. I actually returned my Apple watch because about half the time, it didn't make it through an entire day. The Microsoft Band 2 was a 1.5 day device. Garmin was about 4 days as was the Charge 2.

I love this watch! My only beef with it was the first one I got did not track my sleep, so I returned it to Best Buy and they gave me another. It works great! The sleep tracker is awesome, the heart monitor is surprisingly accurate, even when I don't have the band super tight (I know because I compared it to a heart rate monitor at a medical facility during a checkup and it was pretty spot on). Battery life is incredible, I get a solid 5-6 days on a 2hr charge. The watch is very sleek and professional, it looks good with any outfit, and lightweight as well. I wear it to the gym and when I play sports, it doesn't bother me or get in the way of performance. I've been careful around walls, not wanting to nick it, but the gorilla glass on the watch face is solid. I've bumped into quite a few things, and still not a scratch. The notifications are AWESOME. You can notifications for almost any app on your phone. Overall very impressed, I would absolutely buy this product again.

    A GREAT Watch/Tracker

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

To start with, I had a Garmin Vivosmart ... well I actually had 4. I bought my first one and returned it 3 times. My last one died at 1 year and 2 months... just over the one year repair warranty. I loved the tracker as it was low profile, waterproof and it had great text notifications. These are all features I had to have. Once it died I needed to find a similar replacement. I looked at Garmin, Fitbit, Pebble, and others. I tried all but Apple ... the Apple watch is just too expensive. I bought and tried them all. I returned them all as well. They all had their short comings. Then I found Huawei. A "little" company that has a global reach except it has a minimal footprint in the US. I researched the company and liked what I saw. I "settled" on the HUAWEI FIT. It was basic. I have very few needs. I want a watch (CHECK). I want a fitness tracker (CHECK). I need it to be waterproof (CHECK). I need it to vibrate when I get a text or phone call (CHECK)! I need more than ONE day of battery life (CHECK). I need to be able to read the screen (CHECK). This is an awesome watch that really meets the needs of a basic smartwatch. The print is large enough to read but the watch size is relatively small. The light is bright enough to make reading the screen easy but not too bright to shorten the life of the battery. The vibration is minimal but I have grown accustom to it. Notification are important because as I age (YUP, it sucks getting old), I don't hear my phone or feel it's vibration in my pocket. My watch vibrates and always lets me know when I get a call, text or email. It even gives a good deal of information on the watch face. As much as I love it. it's not 100% awesome. A couple of issues I find annoying... In a dark room the heartbeat monitor is very bright. In a dark theater it glows bright at the right angle. It would be nice to be able to turn it off. The watch face does the same but I can turn that off. The other issue is that with a flick of the wrist, I often switch to one of the various activity modes. I can deal with this though. It was annoying at first but once you understand the finger swiping, it's easy to get back. These are minimal issues compared to all the watch can do. OVERALL: This watch far exceeds what I was hoping for. It works and is very view-able. I love it and have recommended it to any one who asks. I just wish I had found it earlier in my search. Huawei, Welcome to America!

Best fitness/ smart watch for the money. I've owned and used several of the top popular smart watches and fitness trackers. Below is my wish list to make great product even better for all users. :-) Recommendations for next/ near future firmware update: Watch: Add auto sports tracking including elliptical and weights. Add feature to choose which order activities displayed. Steps/ calories /HR should be first choice on single screen. Add quick link to steps/heart rate by taping watch face Add more analog and digital watch faces with Day and date plus widget for steps and heart rate Add weather widget and watch face Huawei ware app for fit: Add controls for what types of notifications you'd like to receive or not Redesign app with easy to read bubbles or tiles like Fitbit i.e. Steps/ distance/ heart rate/ calories burnt. All next to each other. Add daily, work week & weekend step leaderboard challenges for all huawei ware uses. Include easy friend invite for all users. They can either accept or decline. Add nutritional info i.e. Calories in and out with info feed from my fitness pal.

I would recommend this to a friend
