When it comes to the phone heating up, here are some recommendations for reducing excessive phone heat. Choose appropriate brightness and volume settings. When adjusting screen brightness, remember that if your screen is too bright a lot of power will be consumed, it may bother your eyes, and the back of your phone will get hot. Try adjusting the brightness to an average level and also allowing the phone to automatically adjust the screen brightness.

Setup instructions: Go to Settings > Display > Brightness level. Adjust the brightness slider to the middle and select Adaptive brightness. Also, in the drop-down notification panel menu at the top there is also a slider that controls screen brightness.

When adjusting the volume level, remember that if the volume is too high your phone will consume power quickly and the bottom on the back will get hot. Try setting the volume to an average level or lower and don't keep your phone at a high volume level for a long time.

2. Choose the appropriate power saving strategy.

Go to Settings > Battery > Menu > Battery saver and enable battery saver mode to reduce heat and improve performance.

3. Turn off GPS when not in use.

Turning off GPS: When you are not using GPS, turn it off. Many third-party apps send requests for your location information. If there is no GPS signal when you are inside, frequently activating GPS clearly increases phone power usage. Go to Settings > Location and turn off GPS.

4. Reduce the number of apps used at the same time: The Android system supports running multiple apps at the same time. When multiple apps are running at the same time, phone power usage and heat increase. Please reduce the number of running apps and close apps that aren't needed.

Conveniently clean up apps running in the background: To close apps running in the background, touch and hold the bottom right icon in the virtual navigation bar to show recently used apps. Swipe your finger left or right to stop apps that do not need to run in the background.

To determine if any app is consuming a lot of power, check the list of apps ranked by power consumption in Settings > Battery and look at the apps that are consuming comparatively more power. If some apps you don't normally use are consuming comparatively more power, try stopping the apps from running or uninstalling them. (DM)

The Nexus 6P uses a 3450 mAh large-capacity battery that should provides you with a long battery life. If your phone battery power drains easily, this may be because the screen brightness is set too high, the network environment is unstable, or the CPU is overloaded for games, HD video shooting, HD video playback, file downloads, or other scenarios. This is a normal phenomenon because your phone prioritizes by giving you a smooth user experience instead of reducing power consumption. To extend your phone battery life, you are advised to close background applications from time to time or take other measures to reduce power consumption, such as lowering the screen brightness or enabling automatic screen brightness adjustment.
