I waited until I had used this phone for a couple of weeks before doing a review. After reading a number of reviews and then talking to any number of sales folks at more than one company I went with this phone. It was a breeze to set-up. The screen is great and I've yet to run in to any issues. I use Waze on the phone and it runs faster than any of my previous phones. Love the finger print scanner feature! Very nice camera. Only complaint is that folks keep asking how to pronounce Huawei.

Good Phone for under $200

The battery is great with about 40% remaining at the end of days use. No app lags with the octa core processor. The EMUI skin is much better and the Camera is decent. Overall no regrets!!

It takes 3-4 seconds to change from back camera to front camera. 2. Even with 2.3GB free RAM, phone is slow most of the times. Everything responds 1 second after your action.

My budget of around $100 had me looking at yet more budget phones from my carrier. 16 gigs of storage, 2 gigs of RAM, larger but mediocre screens, average chipsets, plastic build all around. I shopped here and stumbled across this phone for $200 and thought it a good deal but still twice my phone budget. So glad I got it. Even at $200 regular price it is totally worth it in my opinion. It is a top quality product in its midrange segment. I am not tech savvy with phones so will keep this simple. It has a very good screen with high resolution and good pixel density.

(Long story, but) it was thrown against a wall from about 10-15 feet and it sustained zero damage that I can tell. It just had one of the durable screen protectors on it - no case.

Has a really good speaker so I don’t have to struggle to hear low voices. A sizable screen for watching movies. Simple set-up and use. I’d never heard of this brand but happy I took a chance on it. It is too bad to hear that you did not have a good experience with your Honor 6X!
We understand that this issue can be really frustrating, however in order to improve the speed of your Honor 6X. We kindly ask you to follow the steps mentioned below.
a) You can clear up the processes that are running on the background. On the home screen click the square button or recent button, swipe upward from the bottom of the screen to clear up all the apps.
b) We kindly suggest you to use the phone manager app. Once you are in the Phone Manager app click "scan" after scanning is completed tap touch to optimize to free al the memory with just one tap. You can also directly tap phone accelerator to close excessive number of backstage operating programs.
c) Lagging device may be caused by insufficient storage space. In the phone manager app tap storage cleaner to scan the storage space. Properly clear up all the trash files can also accelerate the response speed of apps.
d) Upgrade the apps: Some lagging problems in the apps are caused by the abnormality of the apps. In Play Store tap menu Icon and installed, under my apps, once you are in this menu upgrade your apps. uninstalling unused apps will also enhanced running speed.

I made the switch from iOS to Android for a few reasons 1) new computer was Windows (MBP died) 2) apple watch got replaced by Fitbit 3) i wanted to try new items. Having now had the phone for a little over a month, I must say that I am enjoying it. The customization aspect of the device is actually quite appealing. I enjoy being able to customize the phone to fit my needs, rather that making sure my needs fit the capabilities of the phone. Now, the reason this is not 5 stars are as follows: the phone itself is nice, but rather sluggish when processing demanding apps. Not so much that it cannot keep up with the demands of the application, but rather that it slows down and being to get choppy. Another thing that I am not too keen on is the fact that I am now requiring additional apps to do what activities that were seamless before. A perfect example of this is the visual voicemail aspect. Having had that feature and the ability to have voicemail transcribed for me made a huge difference in my comfort level that i do honestly miss. The final hang-up is that the customer support for the phone is non-existing. I e-mailed them about a complication i was having and, to this date, have heard nothing in response. Luckily, i was able to troubleshoot on my own and find a work around, but someone who might be accustomed to receiving help might find this disappointing.

But one thing I noticed, it doesn't work with Verizon Messenger out of the box. I think there is a way of making it work through the APN setting. I will explore.
