Essential for new MacBookPro users-

It also has a camera card reader. and makes sure you don't lose the 2 USB-C connections that it covers when installed. A great, useful add-on for using your laptop at home.

Much needed addition to my new MacBook Pro.

Great addition
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was suggested to me by an associate to help me add some of my desktop components to my new laptop (DVD drive, mouse, printer, etc). The new Macs are now configured with the soon to be new ports, which aren't compatible with current components, which will then be obsolete :( This gives me the ability to use both types.

Concerns over its design

I was torn between an option via another retailer, and this option from Best Buy. The reviews here made me go with this option. However, the unit I received does NOT sit flush with the side of the MacBook. There's a couple of millimeters where it sticks up higher than MacBook's speakers, and I'm nervous to shut the lid (say, when moving from room to room). I'll probably keep it, because it gets the job done when I need it, but I'm not as happy with the QC as I was expecting.

The hyperdrive has made it easier to connect to peripherals. It has come in handy.
