Too expensive for what it is
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Functional, but won’t allow you to play most movies through a projector “due to copyright”

Do not recommend
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would strongly recommend against the product. I purchased this product 2 months back and it stopped working recently after macOS Sequoia update. I reached to Hyperdrive product support but of no avail. I asked the company to refund my money as the product was not working as expected and they stopped responding to my email. It costed me $199 and in 2 months, its a piece of garbage.

Couldn't get displays to work.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried dual extended displays on an M1 13" Pro (macOS 12.5), an M1 Air (Ventura Beta), and an M2 Pro (macOS 12.5). I couldn't get it to work on any of them. Either mine is defective, or it doesn't work. Other than that, it seems like a good quality product.

Hyper Hub 'Pro'
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary: Hyper is well known for its series of Mac hubs and if Apple was naming this one, it would be the 'Pro' model for extended features, namely the support for dual external monitors on all M1 and M2 computers (even ones Apple officially supports only 1 external monitor), and the presence of 1 gb ethernet and SD/Micro card slots along the standard USB C (1), USB A (2), and audio jack ports. I found it worked as well as any hub on my M2 MacBook Air 512gb storage /16 Gb Ram and the extra features were appreciated. Pros: - Dual Monitor support worked well, supported 2 4k HDMI screens. - All ports worked as advertised. - Set up was easy. - Does NOT get overly hot, worked well on my permanent desk setup. - 100 watt usb-c pass through power port. Design Limitations: These are not negatives per se because they worked fine, but may impact your purchasing decision. - It is larger than most portable hubs. It needs the extra space for the extra features. - It is more expensive than most portable hubs due to the extra features. I wouldn't buy this as a travel hub, for that there are smaller and less expensive options. How often do I need or carry Dual 4 K HDMI monitors on the road? Never. However, it is getting harder to find travel hubs with ethernet ports, so if this is important to you, it might be worth it even then. For me, this hub excels on my permanent set up where I DO have dual 4k HDMI monitors and I can wire it in to the ethernet directly. As an amateur photographer, I like bringing my laptop home and being able to plug it in with one cable and then have access to USB A and the SD card readers. There is one caveat on the hub, it will only support 60 Hz on one of them, the first one you plug in too. By default the second will be 30 hz. This isn't an issue for me, I dont use this set up for games, but it may be important to some. I found it worked well for photographs, reports, and mail. I did have a problem with a flickering monitor, but found out it was the cheap HDMI cable. I do wonder, but could not test, as the dual monitor magic uses off screen memory if this would work as well with a base 256 gb / 8 gb ram M1 machine. Just something to look for when you test it out. All in all for my setup, this worked well.

2 HDMI monitors on an M1? Not with this.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really disappointed in this product. I'm happy Best Buy accepted the return. HyperDrive Dual claims to support 2 HDMI monitors but one port is 30Mz and the other is 60Mz. I could not get the 30Mz port to work.

Throw it all in a box
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was tempted to dock the Hyper - Dual 4K HDMI 10-in-1 USB-C Hub a star because of the build. If it looks like aluminum/metal it should be.. Just a pet-peeve of mine. But what gained that star back was the ability for it to work not only with Mac, but for Windows, my Chromebook (and slate), and Fedora (with some finagling) as well. That covers pretty much the entire spectrum minus your phone OS's. Even though the build of the Hyper - Dual 4K HDMI 10-in-1 USB-C Hub is plastic it doesn't feel "cheap". Nor does it look it. Not by a stretch. As the title says hyper just threw it all in a box. Everything a modern computerist (is that even a word?) would need for connectivity, Hyper included. The connections with the Hyper - Dual 4K HDMI 10-in-1 USB-C Hub include: 1. HDMI 4k @ 60hz 2. HDMI 4k @ 30hz 3. A 3.5 mm audio jack (!!!) 4. 2 USB-A type ports 6. 1 USB C Port which includes fast charging power for laptops/etc. 7. 1 USB C type port 8. A gig Ethernet port 9. An SD Card Slot 10. A micro SD card slot. So as you can see, Hyper really did "throw everything in one box" and this would be perfect for those who travel for business. The Hyper - Dual 4K HDMI 10-in-1 USB-C Hub exceeded my expectations immensely !!!
