This is a fantastic little hub to keep in my camera bag. So many computers no longer have the card readers, and this works super fast and gives me a quick option do download photography compared to using the camera's internal bluetooth and clicking each photo one at a time. Was easily found by all my computers in my household, from laptops to handhelds. Build quality seems durable. I think overall this is a good hub for any on-the-go content creator or student. Takes up almost no room at all and has ample space and hookups for just about any mainstream usb device you could want. Didn't notice any slowdown or issues with having multiple devices plugged in at once. There is even pass through for power so you can charge your phone while you use the device for other items. Really, the designers thought of almost everything. I really can't think of any constructive criticism against it. It really covers all the bases for a product at this price point. I've used less expensive hubs than this that were just cheap plastic that cracked in 3 months. This feels far more durable.

I like the new white color body and cable with blue accents on three sides. The symbol at the cable end lights up when it is connected. So far, I have used the SD card slot, and it also has a Mico-SD slot right above it on the end opposite the cable. The front side has two USB-A ports, one of which is marked 1.5A, a type C port (data port), and the HDMI port. Sadly, this port only supports 4K 30Hz and not 4K 60Hz, but I found it adequate for driving a video monitor while streaming. For use with my iPad, it is more than adequate. The opposite side has a headphone jack (I have not tried it yet) and a 100W PD Type C port. To make it better, I would have increased the HDMI port to 4K60Hz, but that is only a nitpick. It appears solidly built, looks good, and so far, it performs well for me. The cord length is about 13 inches or 33 CM in length. The size of the body is 5.25 inches (13.5 CM) long by 1.65 inches (14 CM) wide by .65 inches (1.5 CM) thick. This compact size makes it easy to store in your bag and pull it out for use. Bottom line for me is this is a perfect hub for your iPad or small laptop when on the go and and you need addditonal connenctivity for your single type C port.

I am writing this review for the HyperDrive Flex 8 Port USB-C Hub. One thing I love about any product is when it does exactly what it is supposed to do, especially when taking into account the product’s ability to do even more than what you think it can do. And so it is with the HyperDrive USB-C hub. First of all, it is sleek and beautiful. Yes, I know, beautiful is one of the adjectives one doesn’t usually associate with computer accessories, but in this case, it is a perfect descriptor. It isn’t gawdy or extravagant in its appearance, but is simple, elegant and surprisingly intriguing. When you see it, you can’t help but want to pick it up and examine it. The literature states the case is made of roughly 75% recycled plastic. Don’t let the plastic part fool you…this is truly a quality-made product. The logo in the bottom left corner catches your attention, and almost makes you want to pick it up and look at it. The logo is lighted and has the appearance of a puzzle piece and causes you to wonder just what it is you are looking at. The drive itself has a small footprint, which I like very much. It takes up very little room on the work surface and can be easily moved. The connection cable is a bit short, in my opinion, but I can appreciate the obvious reasoning behind this… there are few things more aggravating than a USB cord getting in the way when you are working. The hub is listed as having eight ports. Two of these ports are card-reading ports, a standard SD card port and a micro SD card port, as well as an audio port (3.5mm), a USB-C port that connects to an host, a USB-C port that connects to a USB-C device, A USB-C port that connects to a USB-C adaptor, an HDMI port for connecting to an HDMI device, and two USB-A ports for connecting to USB-A devices. I might add that the USB-C hosting port also serves as a charging port. I ran into a bit of an issue with the HDMI output port when connected to an all-in-one desktop. When the hub was plugged into the USB-C port on the desktop, I could not use the HDMI port to extend the display to a second monitor. However, when I used the hub on a laptop, it worked perfectly. I’m not sure what the issue is, but all the other ports worked perfectly on the desktop…just not the HDMI. It may very well be that the USB-C port on the desktop is input only. All in all, I absolutely love the HyperDrive Flex 8 Port USB-C Hub. It has enough ports to make work a lot easier and simpler, especially being able to access both card readers at the same time. It’s a great looking piece of technology, is well built, and is quite mobile. This is the perfect addition to your hardware to make work and play on the computer much easier, and much simpler. It easily deserves a Five-Star rating!

Very happy with the HyperDrive Flex 8 port USB-C hub. It has everything you are likely to need and still remains small enough to bring along with your laptop. Two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, two USB-C ports (with one capable of 100 watt power delivery), a headphone jack and both a full-size SD card slot and a micro SD card slot. Having all of this in one handy device is great. It has enabled me to remove the clutter of several other devices in my laptop bag. I use the SD card reader a lot and it's speeds are more than good enough to transfer 85mb RAW files fast. I love that I can transfer files and use the USB-C with power delivery to charge either my watch or phone at the same time. many laptops these days are coming with fewer ports in an effort to keep them slim. Many don't come with any USB-A or HDMI ports at all. This solves that problem. Although the HDMI port does work fine, keep in mind its top refresh rate in 4K is only 30Hz. Not really an issue if you plan to use the port for a second display, but it's not really fast enough for a main display. But all in all, you can't go wrong with this hub.

This hub comes in a very compact size for allowing eight additional ports. The USB-C connection is longer than some comparable products and I was able to connect it to my desktop with plenty of flexibility to place it in a convenient location. It can easily be connected to a laptop as well for allowing multiple connections with ease. It provides two USB-A, two USB-C (one that can provide up to 100w of power), a HDMI 4K port (limited to 30Hz) a SD and microSD reader and 3.5mm audio jack connection. The HDMI connection worked with no issue on my 27" 4K monitor. Tested a backup drive with the USB-C and transfer rates were really good. It was also able to charge my cell phone comparable to a high-speed phone charger. It looks pleasing with a mostly white bode and dark blue highlights. It gives off very little heat with all connections being used simultaneous. A huge benefit is that no additional power is required other than USB-C port to your computer. I highly recommend for an economical, compact, attractive and efficient portable hub.

Often, modern laptops come equipped with the barest of minimums with regards to plug-in ports. While many accessories and computer peripherals are Bluetooth compatible, there are still some which require being plugged in. Also, people may just prefer to use corded devices. Well in that case, this HyperDrive Flex 8-Port USB-C Hub has got you covered! It's got everything you need, except maybe an Ethernet port. I have a smaller plug-in port hub which has one, but I've not had occasion to use it; though it's nice to have just in case. This HyperDrive Flex Hub is made well; slim and with a compact feel, despite having 8 ports on the device. The cord is sturdy, yet flexible. I also like that the logo glows; it's just a nice fun touch. There's no special software required; simply plug in to your Mac, PC/laptop, or compatible USB-C devices, and you're good to go! While using this with my laptop for my corded gaming mouse and corded handheld controller, I didn't notice any connectivity issues or response delay with those devices. Everything worked as expected and intended. For this type of tech accessory, the price is more than fair, it's quite reasonable. I'm really pleased with this HyperDrive Flex 8-Port (yes, 8 port!) USB-C Hub, and can wholeheartedly recommend.

    Perfect Expansion Device for Laptop

I have a couple of high end gaming laptops and they sacrifice a bit of utility for sleek design, fancy displays, and powerful components. My wife actually uses one as a “desktop” hooked up to an external monitor, webcam, etc. But she got a bunch of cute peripherals and quickly ran out of usb slots. This expansion device was the perfect solution and even came with some bonus features that we didn’t need, but are great to have. It easily slots into the USB port on the back of the laptop and provides high resolution and refresh rate picture through the HDMI port. Now I can support multiple monitors from the same laptop. I can charge her phone and headphones, while simultaneously continuing to use the wireless keyboard, mouse, and webcam. I like the status light that lets you know it’s workong correctly and the sleek white color blends in with the rest of her matching setup. It’s light enough too that I could adhere it to the back of the monitor and completely tuck it out of sight. There’s no lag for any devices using the hub versus connected directly to the laptop so that’s a great plus as well.

The HyperDrive Flex USB-C Hub has been a great addition to the computer bag. Recently, got a new computer which is one of those thinner, light weight ones - with that, comes lack of ports other than USB-C as ports tend to increase the thickness of the device. The HyperDrive Flex, expands capabilities - which I've found is a quality of life necessity. The HyperDrive Flex gives a variety of effective ports. There are two USB-C ports, one being power delivery enabled, so while having the Flex connected you do not lose that port, right out of the gate. Otherwise, there are 2 USB-A connections and HDMI port (which is advertised as 4K - the quality seems good, but I can't specifically test that claim). Otherwise, there is a 3.5mm audio jack, which has fallen out of common favor but still handy to have and honestly, very important to me as this is rare - both a microSD and SD reader which are helpful for photos and device data dumps. So far, the HyperDrive Flex has worked just as predicted with no complaints or concerns.

Small, lightweight, and portable, the Hyperdrive Flex 8 port USB-C hub by Hyper is a really solid hub with one (potentially large) flaw. With two USB-A, one USB-C, and one HDMI port, the Hyperdrive Flex has plenty of connection points for a small device. The SD and micro-SD card readers are an added advantage, allowing for data transfer or easy access to backup media. Accepting power input of up to 200W, the Hyperdrive Flex should be able to keep all ports powered up, and I’ve had no problems with connectivity dropouts. While lightweight, construction seems solid and the device feels built to last. The simple design and pastel blue / white case is tasteful and looks at home on a desk. So, what is the one big flaw? While I appreciate an indicator light to let me know that the hub is receiving power, the light on the Hyperdrive is the entire logo. It’s large and bright white, which means if you have a small home office and need it to be dark when you’re not working, you’re out of luck with this. If you want to travel with it, be prepared to have your hotel room well-lit. A much smaller light of a different color would be a welcome change.
