It's great - but there's room for improvement
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first - I love the company and have used their previous version before so when this came out, I had to hop on the bandwagon and get one for myself. There's a saying that goes something like, "You never know you needed it until you tried it." And honestly, this is what exactly happened with the Hypervolt. It's not just for the average exercise buffs, it's also made for every day people. The device itself is pretty simple to use with 5 different attachments (ranking based on how often I use them): Ball - sore muscles (great for general aches, I use this the most) Bullet - trigger points (for target areas on my back) Fork - forearms, calves, feet Flat - calve, chest Cushion - wrists, knees, and neck Fork - forearms, calves, feet I mainly use the Hypervolt for lower back pain (bullet + ball) or for my unfortunate flat feet (fork). The device is relatively quiet compared to others, think of someone doing soft quick punches repeatedly. The attachments are also pretty easy to interchange, in fact it gives a nice "pop" sound when you do remove them. Although the overall device is great, here is wear I knocked off a star: I didn't see the need for bluetooth or the accompanying software. The app works best with Strava or Apple Health (both of which I don't have, so I can't comment on it) which would give you some metrics on your workout score. But the Hypervolt itself can work just fine without using its bluetooth feature or the app. The app does provide you with some pre- and post- exercises with videos which is nice, but not exactly something I would be using daily. Overall, the device itself is great - the app, I could live without. Oh - just being a little nit-picky about the design, but the "hypervolt" print on the side of the device brought down the look of the device and made me question the quality of it. I would have just left that side blank rather than print it on the side.

Cool device
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a good device. So many other ones on the market but the brand is good, built well and works. Not a fan of all the attachments but yeah, it’s decent! It’s worth the money when it goes on sale!

Hits the spot! All the spots!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who rides 20-25 miles a day on their Peloton I am always trying to find products that enhance performance and aid in recovery. It’s no secret that these “massage gun” devices have become quite the popular thing in the past year or two and I have been really excited to get one for myself. Let me just say this now - this product is absolutely worth whatever you spend on it. Period. Hands down. Especially if you are fitness focused. Setup of the device is easy - download the app, pair via Bluetooth, connect to your Health app if you’re an iOS user, and off you go. The benefit of making that last connection is significant. The device learns how you exercise and then makes specific recommendations for routines that you should be doing. These routines can be as short as a couple minutes and as long as 20, with multiple focus areas incorporated. They are supported via the different massage head attachments and videos allow you to see what you should be doing and where. It also can automatically control the intensity for you, taking all of the guesswork out of maximizing your results. The device itself is simple - power switch and speed button. The interchangeable heads come off easily and come with a storage bag to keep them all together. Now for the best part ... since I’ve been using this product daily I have seen my output on the bike increase and my next day discomfort decrease significantly. I am looking forward to continued use to see if this is something that gets even better over time.

Too Hard
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one worked well but did not offer enough options. I needed a softer massage option.

Posted .Hi Nikki! We apologize if the Hypervolt did not suit your needs. We would suggest using the cushion attachment (which is our softest option) and maybe even applying less manual pressure. If you wanted an option for a different device, our Hypervolt GO has less power than the Hypervolt so that may be a better option. Please reach out to our HyperCare team if we can assist with anything else!

Great massage device. Great app.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unboxing of this device is a pleasure. Everything tucked away nicely. The device feels good in your hands and feels like its well made. It contains 5 attachments to use on different muscles and areas of the body. The app which is connected by bluetooth shows exactly where to place the massager for your given workout. Shoulders are a big pain for me, so I went thru the app and chose the shoulder massage. It walked me thru with a video on where to place the massager and increased/decreased the level of massage to match the video. I took this on vacation last week and let my whole family try it out, everyone loved it and enjoyed using it. It got a good workout and the battery never got low straight out of the box. I would have liked to see it come with a bag to hold the device similar to the attachment bag, that would have been an added plus. Otherwise I love this massager and expect it to be used several times a week. Excellent job!

Hypervolt Helps You Feel Like The Best You.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m approaching the Hypervolt as someone who doesn’t consider themselves “active” on a regular basis but plays volleyball bi-weekly, enjoys outdoors and hikes, and cares about ergonomics/posture. And while this product might be marketed towards athletes for recovery, it really is for anyone who has muscle pain and wants relief. UNBOXING: Hyperice has done a great job with their unboxing experience. You get a nice box with everything packaged neatly and snugly. Inside you’ll find the Hypervolt and a box that containers the charger, 5 interchangeable head attachments, a pouch for the heads, and the instructions to help you get started. I would have liked to see a proper case included with the Hypervolt at this price—as it’s quite expensive. BUILD QUALITY & COMFORT: The Hypervolt has a nice soft touch handle—grippy without causing discomfort. The interchangeable heads feel durable while also being plenty soft—which is very important for a product that you’ll be using directly over your skin. I never found any of the heads to cause my skin any discomfort. The Hypervolt is otherwise 2.5lbs which was fine for me, as I didn’t experience any fatigue in holding it. The build feels sturdy and well-designed. Overall, a quality build. USAGE: On the bottom of the Hypervolt handle is the on/off switch. On the rear head of the Hypervolt is a single button as well as 3 arrays of LED lights: The first array of blue LEDs show which of the 3 speeds you have selected while the second array of LEDs show how much pressure you are applying to your muscles. And the third array of LEDs shows the battery status. Upon switching it on, the handle has a ring LED light to show you that it is on and ready to go. At this point, pressing the switch on the rear of the head will start the “percussions” at 30Hz. By pressing it again, you’ll reach 40Hz, then 53Hz. Pressing it again after reaching 53Hz will stop the percussion. Additionally, you can use the smartphone app to sync the Hypervolt over Bluetooth. This isn’t a gimmick, as I initially thought it was. Within the app, you can select muscle groups you want to work on for muscles in front as well as in back. From this, you can select a routine for that muscle group. The routine will show you which head to use and a guided video will play to instruct you on where to apply pressure, and the app will automatically adjust the speed of the Hypervolt as it goes through the exercises. You can also tell the Hyperice app what kinds of activities you regularly do so that it can provide you the best routines for recovery. RESULTS: From my first impressions of the Hypervolt, I went from skeptical to a believer in the benefits of percussive massage therapy. The Hypervolt helped release tension and pain in my muscles. I’m usually very tense in the lower and mid-back as well as shoulders & neck. After using the Hypervolt against each of these muscle groups, I felt very different. When your body has adapted to pain and soreness becomes the “new normal” for you, you tend to forget what things used to feel like. While I’m sure there are many athletes out there who would benefit from the Hypervolt even more, it was very useful for a “normal” person like myself who is going through the aches and soreness that probably comes from years of poor posture, too much sitting and not enough exercise. On top of that, my father has a bad rotator cuff that makes it very difficult to even sleep due to the pain. I’ve passed the Hypervolt onto him to hopefully relieve some of the pain. On his first usage, he said the pain went from a level 9 to a level 5. So hopefully after continued usage he’ll be able to reduce the pain as he explores exercises and other avenues to relieve the pain.

Great with or without app
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this massager so much! Whenever I have sore muscles or back pain I use the different attachments to ease the spot. There is an insert card that tells you which to use for best results and I follow that. I haven't used the app much because I have connectivity issues with my phone, so I can't comment on repeated use. I was able to use it the first time I connected it and I enjoyed the different choices in routines with pressure sensitivity. Without the app, the device is still amazing and I use it at least once a week.

Neck massager
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The massager is way too powerful for my older mother. I returned it to find a less powerful massager.

Posted .Hi there! We do apologize that our Hypervolt did not meet your needs. We do offer the Hypervolt GO which might better suit your needs! The Hypervolt GO is lighter and has a smaller motor, so it is less powerful. This would be a great option for your mother. Professional Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing I noted about the Hyperice - Hypervolt Bluetooth Percussion Massage Device is that this is a massager of substance. It comes beautifully boxed. The device is well made and the quality shows. The different attachments are also top notch. This is not a cheap toy, but a professional quality device, and it runs like one too. The 3 speed motor is strong, i mean jackhammer strong. Careful with the speed levels guys, level 3 can be a little too intense. Now for the down side. There is currently an app for Apple only, so that was disappointing. However there are apps that work pretty well describing muscle groups and how to work them, and what they affect. I didn't know that working an area in my pecs (such as they are) affected my fingers. Crazy right?!?! The Hyperice - Hypervolt Bluetooth Percussion Massage Device is worth the cost. I used it after bowling and golfing and I worked the soreness out of my calves and shoulders. When an Android app is available I will grab it because if the app is anywhere near as well made as the device, its a winner. Cheers!!

Good Percussion Massager
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hypervolt percussion massager is a good option if you're looking for a handheld massager. These devices are made for getting deep into the muscle and releasing tension. I've gotten the chance to use this device for several days and it's fantastic at loosening stiff muscles. The Bluetooth feature links it to their app which can track your fitness through activity and your use of the massager. It charges quickly and runs quietly. I've found that the higher speed settings feel better and less intense than the lower speed (the unit has 3-speed settings and multiple attachments). The massager also comes with a case for the attachments which is a handy add on.
