I returned this for a few reasons... I tried it out a couple of times and it worked fine, I did not feel any benefits from this, then the fastest speed it feels like someone is slapping you flash style, ended up sore! stick to the foam roller better!

I've never owned a percussion massager and was having calf muscle cramping and stiff neck issues. So I looked into percussion massagers and found that the Hyperice Hypervolt Plus was rated the most powerful. So, I decided to give it a try. The model I own is the new Bluetooth connected model which at first meant very little to me...but now, I am so glad I got this version. As I said, I was having issues with my calves cramping during my daily walks which started a few months ago and seemed to remain regardless of my level of stretching or water intake. I also get stiff necks from time to time which make it painful to turn buy head one direction or another. I think some people know them as "cricks". lol. The Hyperice has helped immensiely over the past 2 weeks that I've been using it. First off, the unit is relatively compact and surprisingly, not that heavy. It's also not very bulky and is easy to maneuver around the body. It has a pseudo-rubberized texture which I assume helps with gripping and cleaning. The function button is not super obvious and it took a few seconds to figure out what the LED lights represent without opening the manual...I suggest reading through it. I let it charge for a few hours before using it. It comes with compact carrying case filled with 5 attachment heads: fork, flat, ball, bullet and cushion. Each one has a slightly different use for specific parts of the body. For the calves, they suggested the fork. I installed it, which was quite easy and straightforward. I started up the massager and experimented with the 3 speeds it offers. I like the lowest setting but it's totally capable of giving you a far more intense massage if that what's you're looking for; I only had it on High speed for a few seconds which showed me that. I moved it up and down my calves for about 3 to 5 minutes and all was good. It's now the where the Bluetooth function comes in very handy. After downloading the Hyperice app and connecting the massager to it, I saw that it offered routines for different muscle groups. These are short little videos that show how to properly use the massager BUT with the bluetooth connection, it offers automatic routine run through. In the app, select the muscle group via a human body diagram, which then shows timed routines available for that muscle group. Select the specific one you are wanting to run and click play. It automatically starts the Hyperice Plus massager while the app visually shows where to place it. You just follow along while the timer runs down. It's extremely easy and the video shows me the proper placement. I love this feature!!! I'm not sure about how long the battery life is as I just plug it in after every use. It seems to be a very powerful battery and I imagine you can get quite a few uses out of it before needing to recharge. Overall, this is an amazing percussion massager and it has helped ease my cramping problems when used before I go for my walk. I get my calves warmed up and ready in just a few minutes. I haven't had a stiff neck yet but there are a few routines that would totally help alleviate that. It's exactly what I was looking for and I'm glad I found it. Well done Hyperice!

This product has pinched, torn my skin while using it! Would not recommend this product to anyone because of how expensive this massage gun is! Not worth the money. Tried to contact customer service but no response back yet! Get this if you want to rip your skin! Also I do not have rough or sensitive skin. I was satisfied with the Orginal model one up untill the battery cartridge insertion broke. This product sucks!!!! Feel like I wasted my money

After use of the item it did not appear to have value that matched the $350 price. Returned the overpriced unit and found another unit for less than $100 that worked just as well. Less expensive unit did not cause pain as the overpriced unit did. In addition less expensive unit provided a heating and cooling feature not available in the over priced unit.

Hi there! We apologize if the Hypervolt did not suit your needs. Unfortunately, there is not a slower setting for the Hypervolt. We would suggest using less manual pressure so the device is not hitting as hard. Another option would be to go for the Hypervolt GO as it has less power as well. Please reach out to our HyperCare team at customersupport@hyperice.com if we can assist with anything else.

Man this thing is better than I expected!!! My wife and I got this due to having regular sore muscles due to working out 5 to 6 times per week. We thought this would help to work out some of the stiffness and soreness in our arms, back, and legs. After having it a few weeks now I see why the pros choose this thing, it has multiple different attachments based on what muscle group you are working or how sore/tight a specific muscle is. They swap out very easily and it comes with a convenient carrying bag for the different attachments. Charges quickly and the battery has lasted longer than I expected it to based on the amount of force it gives out. I also downloaded the app on my iPHONE and connected to the app very easily and quickly. The app provides some great videos of how to work out whatever muscle group you select and even provides at countdown timer for how long to do the prescribed therapy on that muscle group. Overall we are very happy with this purchase and for anyone who does intense exercise daily or works out multiple times per week this is can be a godsend.

    Exactly what I needed

I'm not a hard-core athlete, but I travel for work. I spend most of my time driving. Between hours behind the wheel and sleeping in strange beds, my back and shoulders are frequently in knots. Foam rollers help some, but they're not a perfect solution. The Hypervolt was a much better option for working out the stiffness and soreness. The motor is extremely powerful, so much so that the percussion can be painful if you aren't used to it. The softer head was a good way to ease into this type of massage therapy. As for battery life, I've used it several times and still have over a half a battery, so no complaints there. It isn't lightweight, but it isn't so heavy that I don't feel comfortable throwing it in my suitcase. The only drawback is the lack of a travel case for the massager, however a small case for the attachements is included.

OMG! HOLY SMOKES! WOW! I honestly never knew how badly I needed one of these. Within the last six months I got serious about working out. Along with that came all sorts of aches and pains. Some I expected and others I did not. But the HyperIce has really done a great job of loosening and relaxing sore and tired muscles. While nothing will ever replace an actual person massaging the knots out of your body, in this time of COVID when the last thing you might want is a stranger's hands all over you, this is the next best thing. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone, even if you're just sore from sitting on the couch for too long, this will help! I especially like the Bluetooth option that automatically runs through pre-programmed sessions each one targeting a different body part with a different attachment.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first. But from the first time I tried this product I fell in love with it. I work out pretty often so I used it on a day my quad muscles were a little sore and let me tell you...it works! I've used it on my back and glutes and this thing is the real deal. I connected it via bluetooth and downloaded the Hyperice app to my phone where there's all kinds of info available. There's different attachments to use on different body parts. For example, there's a softer attachment to use for the neck area which works wonders. By the way, the packaging was gorgeous. (I know that means little to some but packing means a lot to me because that lets me know you care about the product you're providing.) If you workout this thing is a must have.

Spark occurred when plug inserted in the outlet

I bought this item for use by my friend in India after confirming that it’s charger can operate from 100-220 volts. While handing over this gifted item to my friend in Delhi, India on December 1, 2021 and asked him to charge before use, a great spark noticed and plug got blacked. This kind of DOA problem were never noticed on all my purchases so far from BestBuy. I don’t know why it happened and is it possible for BestBuy to send a replacement good charger to my friend’s address in India or any of its service outlet in India.

For almost 16 years, I worked retail and was on my feet for 8-9 hours per day; standing on concrete. About 2.5 years ago, I transitioned from a job to a career and now sit at a desk all day long. I immediately noticed pain in my already screwed up back (I have mild scoliosis). Particularly since Covid hit and I've been working from home in a less than great office chair, I've noticed my back pain has been increasing as time goes on. A couple of days after getting this massager, I noticed that the pain in my lower back was greatly diminished compared to what it has been. As for the device itself, the Hypervolt Plus is beautifully packaged; it reminded me of how Apple packages their products. Very modern and clean and well fitted into the packaging. The box can be re-used for storage/transport, but the design and shape of the actual massager does force the box to be somewhat large by nature. The Hypervolt comes with 5 differently-shaped heads/attachments for varying body parts and each attachment stimulates the nerve endings differently. After turning the massager on, I realized just how strong and powerful this thing is. There's a set of LEDs on the back to indicate the pressure (more LEDs lit up means you are pressing harder). I can barely light up one LED because even with light pressure, the intensity is quite strong. What helps make this device most user-friendly is the available (free) app that connects (via Bluetooth) to the Hypervolt Plus. This allows you to select routines to follow which actually controls the device's speed and shows you a recorded video representation of a trainer using the device to help guide you. If I had any gripe, it's that the app doesn't give you enough time to switch between attachments between each step of a routine. It would also be nice if the app showed you which attachment to use without having to push a button on the screen to switch views (and then have to switch back). It would be nice if the device and app talked to each other more so that the app would recognize you pushing a button to indicate that you were ready to continue, after switching your attachment or body position, instead of just powering the device back up again after only 5 seconds. As a software developer, user-experience is a big deal to me. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this unit. I've been trying to build up the stamina to start exercising daily again and am confident that this will provide great relief from those sore muscles, particularly after leg day. Until then, I'm grateful to have relief in my back and neck while sitting and staring at a computer all day long.

Why didn't I get one sooner?

This is the first percussion massage gun I've tried, so I don't have a reference point --- but wow I wish I had gotten one of these sooner. Build quality is superb on this unit and the battery seems to last forever. I was a little worried about breaking it when changing the heads because the piston rod doesn't lock when the device is turned off, but as long as you twist and pull simultaneously - you won't break anything. The speed indicators are the blue LEDs on the back of the gun and the battery indicators are green. The speed selector also acts as the power button which can take a minute to get used to. To use the gun, you gently glide it over the muscle being massaged. The weight of the gun and force of the motor are enough to work out the knots, you don't need to apply pressure (which I mistakenly did the first time I tried to use it). The extended handle make it easy to reach your back without much effort and the ergonomics/weight balance are perfect. Hypervolt offers a companion app and integrates with Apple Health. The app offers suggested routines based on your recorded activities that day. It also has numerous routines targeting muscle groups. The Hypervolt + would still be worth the purchase without this functionality, but bluetooth/companion app are a nice added touch. The only improvement I'd like to see is a USB power brick.
