it took my gaming experience to next level. There is no ANC but i feel it is because the headset is more focused on gaming. It has a base station which consists of a lot many features and they are quite good.

Super comfortable, just wish there was a usb stick to plug into my ps5 instead of having to plug in the huge adapter, still sounds and works amazing

The HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless Gaming Headset has good sound quality and comfort, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work well with my computer. I experienced frequent connection issues and inconsistent performance when trying to use it on my PC. It connects easily to other devices like my PS5 and mobile via Bluetooth without much trouble, but if you’re planning to use it primarily with a computer, you might encounter some frustrating compatibility problems.

I have owned many headsets, and this is one of the worst for gaming I have ever used. You are forced to use the BETA software and most of the features do not yet work. In the PUBG GAME directional ability is horrible. You cannot tell where the gunshots are coming from. Potential is there, but should not have been released until the software was ready. The other cheaper versions work well.

I had a pair of Hyper X Cloud 2's years ago, and they were some of the best headsets I ever had, though they did end developing issues and I ended up warrantying them and the replacements ended up with the same problem. There have been headsets over the years that have often imitated the Cloud 2's and I've owned most of them. These new Alpha's eclipse the Cloud 2's. In price but most importantly in performance. I've been driving these daily for over a week now. I've been using them in the dual mode where I have music/podcasts playing on my desktop computer and then have them connected to my work computer so I've been trying to test the battery life. Build Quality, these are quite sturdy. Compared to some other headsets I own, these feel much sturdier. My other pair have so much flex in the headband that, for $350, you'd think they would be a lot more durable. The Alpha's blow those away. I appreciate that they included a 3.5 cable, and it's plenty long. The USB C cable they included could have been longer, though I like that they included an adapter for Type-C to Type-A so if you don't have a C port available on your computer, you've got the ability to plug/charge them with Type-A. The USB Base Station is neat. You can customize the buttons with certain presets or with any key on your keyboard. There's no Macro support than I can see, so no adding something like Shift/Ctrl+ any other keys. I do wish there were not icons on the buttons though, cause if you do change their default behavior, you're left guessing. This does appear to something that's still not yet implemented months later after these went out to reviewers earlier this year, which is disappointing. The Base Station/Headset also does not work on the official version of nGenuity, you have to use the beta version, which does not appear to have been updated or had any changes in over 2 or 3 months from when these were being sent to high profile YT reviewers. Again, this is quite disappointing. The app shows a lot of promise/potential, but it's going untapped. There's a lot of quirks with the app. The EQ is wonky, on a reboot, I had no sound at all. Everything in Windows was showing it was all good, but I was not getting any sound at all. I finally went into the nGenuity app and I had to tell it manually to use the headset, after I did that the audio came back. I also had to reset my EQ, something I saw mentioned in other reviews. It's quite annoying to say the least that I have to re-create my EQ after a reboot, much less having to tell the software to use it's own device. Another quirk is that the EQ or sound profile will randomly change, as though the entire EQ just turns off for no reason. I've not been able to pin down what causes it. I thought it related to the Game Scan but even when that was disabled I was still getting a flat EQ randomly. It's quite comfortable. I can wear them all day without any pain or discomfort. They're also quite light, but again, they're very well built. As for sound quality, they're awesome. Better than my previous headset. I play a lot of games, one of those is Tarkov and I can tell you without a doubt these make a difference. I've been able to better pinpoint where shots are coming from. I can also hear enemies more clearly and from further away. Almost feels like cheating to be honest. I play with the 8 channel Spatial Audio and it truthfully works better than the Dolby Atmos on my other headphones. You can even configure in the nGenuity app to use up to 12 channel. I've not tested with it though. I like that with the Spatial, you can adjust the immersion of your sound, whether you want it wide or narrow, near or far, all to your personal perference. For music, they're awesome. I'm a bass head, these absolutely deliver. They do great with other kinds of music as well. I also keep the Spatial on when I'm listening to music and will adjust it depending on the genre. The Bluetooth also works exponentially better than my other headset. You could walk 10 feet away and the signal would completely drop. I can walk almost to my kitchen which is 30+ feet away and still have some manner of connectivity. The 2.4Ghz connection also has identical range. The battery life on this is also quite remarkable. My other headset I'd have to charge them after maybe 20 ish hours (rated for 40). These are rated for 250 hours. I don't know the exact conditions those were tested under, but I've certainly not gotten that much life out of them. I'd say I got around 80-90 out of a single charge. That's using them all day for work and play, so they're on for about 10-14 hours a day using the dual mode for work hours and just the 2.4 for my gaming PC. I have not tested them with my PS5, but they are compatible. I did test them with my Steam Deck and they worked great over BT. Overall these are very impressive and impressive Audio Quality and fantastic comfort. Time will tell how they hold up especially in regards to the wireless performance in relation to the battery. The biggest con has got to be the nGenuity app. It really needs a lot of work. If/When they take the time to build out proper support and get these working in the Stable Official build and not a Beta release and get the entire feature set going, then these will be an even better contender and value for your money. Even still, they're definitely worth it despite the nuances with nGenuity.

HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless is a headset that I'd say works more off potential than what it currently is. The core features of this headset like its sound quality, comfort, very good battery life, and flawless connectivity are all here now though. It’s just the reliance on beta software that’s not ready yet + the included RGB base station that just ends up being more of an annoyance. Comfort: For me the lighter a headset is the better. I don't care what materials are used if my head hurts when wearing it. HyperX has always been good at designing their headsets and the Cloud Alpha 2 coming in at 340g isn’t the lightest but nor is it the heaviest in the class. I don’t really feel any fatigue after wearing it and it will suit many head sizes just fine. It also isolates sounds very well though there is no ANC which even if you don’t care for should really be an automatic feature these days on high end headsets. Battery life: It’s legit! 250 hours on 2.4GHz (if you aren't constantly switching between it and Bluetooth) It seems to be best in-class and if anything this aspect carries this headset if you really prioritize not having to worry about wires and charging it often. Sound quality: The default sound profile is really good and HyperX always seems to be well tuned out of the box. I would describe the sound signature to be slightly leaning towards bass but not overdoing it, you can also tweak it further with EQ which does unlock itself a bit more. Microphone: The microphone is fine and probably good enough for like 95% of competitive gamers, but it’s not class leading and should have been much better for the price. My voice comes clear but there’s that clear dip in quality you notice that’s very obvious from a gaming headset. I’ve tested cheaper and some wired headsets that have much better microphones. Wireless performance: The wireless performance is flawless and the range is quite good as well. Sometimes new wireless headsets I test ALWAYS struggle in this area with weird bugs or disconnecting by themselves, but the Cloud Alpha 2 gave me no such issues and when you pair that with the before mentioned battery life it feels like a true wireless gaming headset. Software and base station: I do not like NGEUNITY nor the BETA. It’s always been buggy for me at times and the fact that this headset needs it for so many of its core features makes the process annoying. On top of that the RGB Base station which I thought I’d like is a total annoyance and the volume doesn’t correspond with Windows 11. There's also wayyyy too many audio devices as soon as you plug everything in that can be a bit confusing for non-audiophiles. If you like the fit and prioritize battery life it's a solid recommendation and hopefully this headset can still improve much over time in the software aspect.

The unboxing was quick and easy. Well packaged for protection in a plastic molded form. Headphones came just about fully charged since I had to charge it for just a few minutes before it was full. Setup is very simple. Plugged into one of my Asus Rog Strix gaming laptop's USB ports. Viola - there's headphones. They are super comfy, while they're not soundproof / noise cancelling, they are probably about the most outside noise silencing non noise cancelling set I've got (and I have nearly a dozen various headphone sets for gaming). Once these are on everything outside is dimmed to almost nothing. And these may be my favorite as far as comfort. They're big enough that they aren't pressing against my ear. And even after 10 or 12 hours of gaming, I can barely feel they're there. No discomfort at all. I'm a fan of the control box. I've NEVER been a fan of all the controls on headphones. Too many buttons, and some can be a real pain to remember or even FIND when you want that one button out of four or five on one of the ear cups. Especially in the middle of a gaming session during action. The default settings worked well, buttons showed just what I'd get. I also like that simply touching the center of the dial's button mutes and unmutes the microphone. Some have secondary functions when you hold for a few seconds - like the media controls can do next track / previous track as well as just pause and play. Now for the microphone - easy to plug in or remove. I like the lack of the foam around it. I've never cared for those. This with the built in mesh worked just fine. People could hear me clear, whether on a fireteam in Destiny or on the phone. I also tried it without the boom mic since it supports that as well with its own built in microphones. Worked, but not as clear and good quality as I had with the boom mic. And the microphone is unobtrusive. Sound is great. I appreciate the frequency response, low and high sound good, and the clarity is distinctive compared to some other headsets I've used. It gives good spatial awareness in FPS games. I have some headphones that tell you the battery percentage when they're powered on. I wish these could, but so far, the only thing I've found that can let me know the battery percentage is a beta app on their page. Then in the program on the computer you'll be able to see the battery percentage left. And the battery percentage - so far, I'm impressed. I've got somewhere between 10 and 15 hours of gaming so far and I'm only down to 90%. Excellent battery life so far. I tied it into my iPhone, had no issues at all. And the ability to have both the phone and the computer going could be a benefit in some circumstances for some people I guess, but for me, when I'm gaming, I want things simply disassociated. So I'm not going to do this other than for testing. But I was able to pause the game and deal with the phone call without having to do anything extra. That could be a huge thing for some people. But part of me is wondering if some background music while I'm gaming may be a decent thing after all... I've got to say, I really like these. Price is not out of line for the features and battery life compared to the other gaming headphones I have, and the control base and dial really are one of my favorite things. SO much better than having to find buttons on the cups...

Gaming headsets are a must when gaming to which you can find one that works for you across the whole price range gamut. However, there are very few that actually check all the boxes when looking for that perfect gaming headset. This most recent model by HyperX does exactly that though from comfort and aesthetics to performance it leaves nothing further to be desired. Right out of the box the build quality is immediately impressive, featuring the signature HyperX aluminum frame and stainless steel headband that feel robust enough to handle years of daily use. A major design shift in this iteration is the move to breathable microfiber earpads combined with plush memory foam, which provides a significantly cooler experience during longer sessions compared to traditional leather that I`ve used in a variety of other headsets. Also the ability to detach the mic is always appreciated for use in those single player games when it is not necessary. The addition of the RGB base station is a true game changer for desk setups though. Having a physical command center for volume, muting, and even programmable macros is amazing and keeps all those key controls at arms reach without having to mess with various settings or buttons you can`t see on the headset. Along with all the little touches that bring a superior build to this headset the performance is just as strong. The drivers here are designed to separate bass frequencies from the mids and highs which actually results in a soundstage that is remarkably clear and detailed. For competitive players, this translates to pinpoint accuracy for in game cues like footsteps and reloads. The headline feature though is the astronomical 250 hour battery life which has held up for me so far. When you factor in the USB-C, USB-A, Bluetooth, and 3.5 mm compatibility for use coupled with the simultaneous dual wireless connectivity, which lets you mix 2.4GHz game audio with Bluetooth 5.2 from your phone, it becomes clear that they have thought of everything here to ensure a seamless experience across all your devices. Overall, this headset manages to combine elite battery endurance with professional grade audio and comfort. Between the staggering 250 hour battery life and the incredibly convenient RGB base station, it eliminates the usual friction of wireless gaming while keeping your setup looking sharp. It’s a reliable and practical choice for any gamer who wants a premium, versatile headset that handles everything from competitive matches to casual multitasking without missing a beat.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 is a really nice gaming headset. It features an RGB basestation with 6 customizable buttons, 2.4g wireless and bluetooth, and a very long battery life. Setup is very simple, you just plug the basestation into a usb port and then turn on your headset. You will also need to download the HyperX software if you really want to take advantage of all the customization offered. The headset is very comfortable when worn, and the earpads are made of a really nice breathable material that don't get my ears too hot during long gaming sessions. The sound quality is fantastic. The overall sound is just full and impressive. You really feel immersed in the game. You can hear the small details like footsteps or trees rustling, but also the big important things like gunshots or explosions. And it's all directional so you can really tell which directions certain sounds are coming from. I was really quite impressed with the overall sound quality. The basestation is pretty interesting as well. It features 6 customizable buttons that also feature rgb lighting. You can ppick the color of the lighting as well as the function of the buitton. But the buttons also have little icons on them like play/pause, mute, mic, etc. So I'm not sure why you'd want to change the function from anything other than what the icon signifies. It's nice to have a convenient way to control things like chat volume, mute, mic volume, etc. with the base station. And the volume knob is nice and big, and also features RGB lighting, which is actually useful since it also denotes the level of whichever function you're currently controlling with the knob. It's just a nice little touch that is actually really useful. Lastly, the build quality of the headset feels really good. The headband is actually made of metal, which is a nice departure from most other headsets that use plastic. It just raises it to a level above other competing headsets. Overall I am super impressed with the Hyper X Alpha 2 headset. It is really well made, comfortable, and features great performance. I would definitely recommend if you are in the market for a good gaming headset.

Hyper X delivers a headset for all day comfort that easily blocks out the rest of the world while piping your PC directly into your ears. This is lighter than others I’ve tried, but still delivers great overall performance. This is not a fancy looking Gaming headset, but it performs like one. The only nod to this being a gaming headset is the wired controller with multi colored buttons. The controller's value lies in the large volume control which makes it easy to lean into your PCs sounds or take a temporary break when you need to have an IRL interaction. The controller also serves as the headsets dedicated wireless adapter, giving the headset a rock solid connection to the PC. In addition to the dedicated connection, the Alpha 2 can simultaneously connect to another bluetooth device. If you bring your machine and headset other places often, you can leave the controller behind and simply the headset directly with bluetooth to your PC . I liked the versatility of connecting the headset to my phone so I could choose to listen to music when I'm not in front of the computer. Gaming sounds and music are equally immersive with a satisfying experience overall. That said, this headset does not have any active noise cancelation. Depending upon your environment that might make a difference. Despite that lack, the over the ear design blocks out the majority of environmental noises well (often including my wife calling from the other room). It’s light enough that I can wear it with glasses for hours at a time without noticing anything other than the sound isolation. Battery life is also very impressive. It claims over 250 hours of battery life. I can’t say I tested that, but it never came close to running low during the 15 hours that I used it. The microphone is a little quiet, but that lack is made up for in its flexibility. A nearly infinitely adjustable boom gets the mic exactly where it needs to be so everyone can hear your instant thoughts. The pickup is good enough for speech, but will not be confused for a professional sounding microphone in any context .

Being a PC gamer, I've used quite a number of headphones in my time. Whether it was for mobile devices, PlayStation or XBOX or PC, there was always some issue/gimmick with getting headphones to connect to whatever system you were using. But, with this HyperX, no need for that since this thing will connect to anything which is super nice AND these sound great. The fit on these headphones is quite nice. Very big and cushy BUT I'm not a huge fan of the cloth earpads. I prefer something that's a little more breathable and these feel like slipping on wool socks in the summertime. Large, bendy boom mic is removable and the buttons on the headset are nice a large and easily distinguishable from each other. Overall fitment of the headphones is good and I have a large head so that's saying something. The interest little gadget that comes along with these headphones is the customizable base station that lights up in pretty RGB. I mean, how can RGB NOT make something nicer right? Well, I think it does for this headphone. With the base station you can make edits to your headphones on the fly like EQ changes or swapping devices. Sound quality is quite good with these and the battery life is really good....like really good.

First, is the first thing you see on the download site is two versions one is the older version and the other is a beta version. I'm disappointed that HyperX would release a headset with a "beta" version of software that clearly shows it's in the beta stage too. I'm hoping future updates can or will correct some short comings like the ability to have your customizations save to the headset or base station so that you can recall customizations. I was also hoping the buttons were RGB but it appears only the circle/ring is, perhaps this can change too, but I wish I could customize buttons and colors assigned to them. That said, these are only minor things and the headset does work great and feels great. I'd recommend this once the software is out of beta... I'm not a fan of recommending hardware with beta software when you're purchasing something to get the full version, not a half done beta. That said, if you can overlook that, I'd recommend this headset as it really is good hardware wise.

Very nice, comfy set THE GOOD ~ Extremely comfortable ~ Excellent sound quality ~ Good mic ~ USB-C charging ~ Volume can be changed on headset or with dial on pad ~ Can be used wirelessly or wired ~ Good range ~ Easy sert up ~ Comes with a soft case ~ Cool RGB pad ~ Comes with any cable you can need to use it to its fullest capabilities ~ Detachable Mic THE BAD I haven't found anything I don't LIKE yet THE MEH (Could go either way) ~The mic is good, but moves easily if you bump it OVERALL I have an older pair of HyperX headphones, so I was anxious to try these out. Setup was a breeze. It helps that everything you could need is included in the box, including an aux cable (if you want to use it wired), a USB-C to USB-C and a USB-A to USB-C Cable. The ear muffs are well cushioned and block out ambient noise very well. Beyond that, there is a lot of padding on the cross bar between them, so these headphones are extremely comfortable. I played my videogames and listened to music through them. The sound quality is excellent. The control pad is a nice touch. It makes changing volume easy. It also has other default buttons like mic gain and balance of chat/game. You can change these if you want. If you're a gamer that likes to hang out and play at friends' houses, this also comes with a soft case to carry them over there. A nice touch. Really, I found nothing to dislike about these. If you're a gamer or looking for a gift for gamer, these are an excellent choice. They're a little pricier than what you might get at a bargain store, but they are worth it. THE BIG QUESTION: Would I recommend these to others, espcially gamers or students who like to listen to music while studying? Absolutely!

Having the "dongle" also be the controls is great. When in a game or a meeting, a cough button is great to have quick access to. Trying to find the button on the back of a headset is almost a game in and of itself. When using the contols, the mute etc only work for the PC attached to the controls. If you have both BT and dongle in use (this is a setting from the headset a switch on the right earpiece) mute on the dongle/controller does not mute the BT connection. The sound is very immersive. I would not call it noise cancelling, but tyou definitely drown out the surrounding sound. The mic works extremely well. Background noise is at a extreme minimum if it can be heard at all. My dogs no longer show up in the group chat. One odd thing, it a Teams chat you get multiple devices with the controller acting as the dongle. One shows as game and the other as wireless chat. One drawback. The software NGENUITY is wonky at best giving no real controls for the headset. Auto shutoff is nice until it isn't. It takes a few seconds to power up the headset. Wireless range is pretty solid for both BT and dongle. Somewhere near 30 feet through walls each. Battery is completely insane. Almost 250 hours of battery life. I used all day for work, only 3 hour long meetings, and the headset is still reporting at 100%. Overall, this is a fantastic and very comfortable headset. Sound is excellent and controls are intuitive. Software in wonky, but that can be fixed with an update.

Hyperx Cloud Alpha 2 wireless headset is definetly the headset I've been looking for for a while? It includes a customizable RGB base station that makes it easy to control headset functions, volumes, and gameplay. The headset boasts an immersive sound quality that puts you into the game. Very deep bass and extreme highs. The sound is achieved by multi-layer dual-chamber drivers. You have two options for the mic: a boom mic and also very good internal mics built into the headset that pick up voice just as well. The headset is also capable of dual simultaneous wired connection to the hub and Bluetooth. I'm an intense gamer, and this one lasts about 250 hours on a single charge, as stated, but I haven't played that long on it yet. I've been using it on the PS5, but it also works well on PC and Xbox. There are volume controls on the headset, but you'll love the control from The Hub. Everything you need is inside: a USB-C to USB-C cable, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, a 3.5 mm headset, your cable, and a quick start guide. If you're looking for a very good and comfortable headset, check this one out. You won't be disappointed.
