Customers recognize the Cloud Alpha S headset's superior sound quality and comfortable design as major strengths, with many praising the immersive audio experience and lightweight feel. Positive feedback also highlights the adjustable bass and good value for the price. However, some users mention that the volume could be improved and that the cord length may be insufficient depending on the setup. The detachable microphone is another feature that receives mixed reviews.

This is a very comfortable headset to use and it is very easy to use. I really like the stealth black look on the headset and the dongle lights up when your on Surround Sound. Personally, I only use the surround sound when I play FPS games on steam such as CS:GO or Rainbow Six Siege. I also really love the bass extenders on the headset, really good for listening to music.
The only problem that it came with is that there was sticker residue on the sides with the headset. (On the HyperX logo)
Fortunately, I have a solution for this if it ever happens to you on any headset in general. Just pour a bit of rubbing alcohol on a towel or rag, and just scrub on the sides of the headset. (Not too hard though)
Other than that, a great headset! :)

comfort AND sound

The Cloud Alpha S is still comfortable for me to use even after long hours of wear and use. It's light but sturdy. AND the black and cobalt blue color is definitely one of my favorites among HyperX's headsets. I've nothing to complain about with the sound either; the bass slider is a neat feature and brings a lot to heavier sounds in-game.

The sound quality and comfort of this headset is outstanding. The adjustable bass sliders really make a difference in games and music. Controlling the headset's features using the inline unit is easy and intuitive. I also like that HyperX went with a blue design instead of their typical red, which is great because it's my favorite color. Overall, I'd recommend this headset any day for its unmatched comfort, features, and performance.

I used the HyperX Clouds extensively before this, and was excited that this finally came out. The build quality is still great, and the cobalt and black is an amazing choice that I much prefer over the red and black. The clamping is just a bit cozier than the Cloud when I first got it, but it isn't to the point of discomfort.
The sound quality sounds definitely more tuned and balanced, as with the Clouds I felt it was sometimes a bit hollow. However, one of the funnest things on this headset is the bass slider, it ALMOST feels like nothing happens when I adjust it but I definitely hear the difference in bass heavy sounds in games (like explosives). Another thing to point out is the dual audio channel thing - it's puzzling at first but you can easily master it within like 20 minutes or so. It makes things SO much easier when adjusting volume for either Discord or the game I'm playing without having to alt-tab out. One of the best quality of life changes for the headset in my opinion! Like my Clouds before, they look great when out and about.
All in all, you're getting a headset with the famous HyperX sound quality, but just with whole lots of new functions to make things convenient. It was a great purchase and I can't get over how pretty cobalt blue and black is! The ONLY thing that would make this great is just more RGB, lol. Great stuff HyperX!!

overall excellent headset
sound is great
mic works well
very comfortable
I swapped from a wireless steelseries arctis7 as the wireless kept cutting out even after RMA.
this is significantly better, the cord is very long as well.
lacking EQ software is kind of a bummer though
the 7.1 sound in games sounds so weird and terrible (this is pretty much EVERY 7.1 I've used though, so not exclusive to hyperX)
I wish the mic was retractable/flip up, having a detachable mic just makes it easier to lose
the volume control doesn't work in all games, sometimes you have to alt-tab to use it (not sure why this is)
good value headset though for the sound quality!
Pros
-comfortable
-great sound, especially bass
-mic works well
-long cord
-easy setup
Cons
-no retract/flip up mic
-7.1 sound sucks
-volume control doesn't work in some games
-no EQ software

I was happy with the way the headset felt on the head and sounded. The bass adjustment slides don’t have a huge impact on the bass but it was still a nice feature. I like the little card it comes with to control the audio mix and 7.1 surround sound. The ear cup replacements are difficult to put on but do offer a different texture which is appreciated.

Overall, this is a well made headset with a great, simple look and numerous features. The sound quality is great and the 7.1 surround sound audio is definitely a must-have for many current games. I also like the USB audio control box and bass adjustment sliders because they allow for convenient access to the headset's features. As for the headset itself, it is durable and overall extremely well made with a sleek look. For me, it fits snug and stays very comfortable, even after long periods of use.

I had wiresless Steelseries headphones for quite some time. They sounded what I thought was great, mic was ok and they were semi comfortable. For 300.00 headphones I was never really impressed. The mic broke after a year of use. I tried to repair with no avail.
I've known about HyperX as the original clouds were the staple of gaming headsets back in the day. I spent about a month milling around trying to make a decision.
I have used these for two weeks now and let me say just a few things.
1. These sound better than ANY headphones I have used (bose, beats, sony). I mean they sound TOP notch.
2. Most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. I had an 9hr session this weekend and they were 100% comfortable the whole time.
3. Mic is absolutely amazing. All my buddies noticed right away. Some said I sounded just as clear as my buddy who is using a blueyeti.
4. The min sound card with chat button is CLUTCH. Hit one button and everything goes quite excluding the mic.

Comfortable, 7.1 sound (when you update drivers if you want PS4 7.1 feature), super high quality and ultra reliable. These headphones are super dynamic and light. You never get tired of wearing them. They are far superior to the PS4 Gold option and all others I have used in the past.

Honestly surprised by Hyper X. I had tested out the Steelseries arctis pros and arctis 7s aswell as the Logitec flagship model going for 200$ and they all sounded flat and didnt have much Bass to them. The logitec did have more bass than steelseries but these Hyper X Cloud Alpha S headphones are Fantastic their mids highs and lows all come in sounding ultra crispy and very well balanced out of the box! The ability to go open back or closed back is fantastic and for a trained ear you can hear the difference. Most of the reviews on here say they cant hear a difference and it almost made me turn away from them until I tried them myself. If your on the fence and are looking at the 200$ steel series models or logitec flagship models save the extra 70$ and get these. The 7.1 virtual works great with windows DTS headphone:X the spacial audio on these are very good for FPS games and the ability to go open back and get more bass has made my music listening experience improve 10 fold. Im hearing things in music ive never heard before and its almost like listening to a song for the first time. All my gaming buddies say my voice is alot clearer than my previous headset so that tells me the mic is a difinitive upgrade over my previous set, For reference I had hyper x Cloud cores that lasted me about 5 years and they still work but the sound quality was diminishing due to age but I loved them Another thing I have to say about hyper x headphones is the comfortability and durability I dont think I could break a hyper x headset if I wanted to these babies are tough! On the comfortability side nothing beats hyper X if you suffer from headaches from headphones hyper X headphones are the only ones I can sit and game for 8 hours with no pain. I spent days looking at headphones and im glad I chose these. hyper X has never let me down. Highly reccomend them if a pair of 200$+ headphones is a hard pill to swallow for you.

These were a great pick up after my older alphas started to show so wear. I was surprised by the whole base slider thing as i'm not incredible audio savvy but it was really noticeable in certain games and while watching some of my youtube or Netflix shows. Also, are comfortable as always with the metal band never feels like they'll fall off like some of my previous headsets. Overall well worth the upgrade for the slight increase.

The Alpha S has really good sounds and the bass is amazing. Featuring 7.1 audio as well it really is good for hearing where your enemies are around you. All this for the price is amazing. I prefer the mesh cups when its hot and the leatherette when its colder.

I bought the HyperX - Cloud Alpha S Wired 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset to enhance my gaming experience. The sound quality is good, but not amazing. The bass is a bit weak and the surround sound is not very immersive. The headset is comfortable to wear, but it can get hot after a while. The microphone is clear and easy to adjust. Overall, this is a decent headset for gaming, but not the best one out there.

Very comfortable, and I have a big head and big ears!
Sound quality is good, and inline amp option allows ability to run through USB through amp or disconnect and connect directly with 3.5mm jack (higher quality sound this way)
My only complaint is the mic is fairly quiet with no internal amp/boost db gain available

Really love this headset. I just plug it straight into my Scarlett2i2 or my PC headphone/mic jack. Don't care too much for the surround sound USB dongle it came with. My motherboard's sound card is better sounding to me. I also like the bass tuning sliders on the headset. The cushions on these headphones are very comfortable also. I use the Leatherette ones for sound isolation even though they do make your ears hot.

So I was watching Youtube reviews about it and reviews and I was 50/50 about the headphones but once they arrived they are very loud which I love and the mic its ok my friends didn't mind the mic and I asked them if it was bad or bothered them and they said its good nothing wrong and I was surprised because I've heard other people talking through it and it was ok in my opinion but the bass changer is very helpful for me because some games have more bass than others so I can change it for other games and the 7.1 surround sound I've tried it but I don't hear a difference. And it brings another pair of of ear pads and I used the headsets for long periods of times and my head never hurt a bit.

I love these headphones, but after years I have moved onto the Logitech g pro x . Having bought 2 pairs of these Hyper X I must say the 7.1 is disappointing to say the least, it is hardly usable in most applications. I will say the mixing interface provided is very handy when playing loud games and need to hear teammates better or vice versa. I do like the bass adjustment switches on the earphones, but thats something that can be done passively through software instead of a physical interface. G-hub has a built in eq that links up with the headset immediately and saves each preset eq/custom settings to each profile. As in whatever game or application is running it will switch to that eq profile, Very useful. Sadly, I waited for hyper x to release something like this but nothing came. There is some weak UI you had to download through windows apps (garbage move btw), but otherwise nothing compareable. I love the second set of mesh ear pads, they are great for breathablity and long hours of gaming. The audio and build quality are superb. Overall I still like them but wish they could do more in terms of capabilities.

The headset is lightweight, and the fabric is very soft. I don't use the mic, so I can't say if it's good or not. The braided cable twists a bit, but isn't too bad. The sound quality is good, but sometimes struggles with high pitches. The 7.1 surround sound is interesting. It sounds different than without it, but the difference in game is minimal. The controller is a bit irritating, as often times I'll end up pressing a button when I'm not paying attention which increases the volume. the most interesting feature is being able to split comms and game sounds. When you plug it in it creates two different audio outs. One for game audio, the other for comms. The problem is that in order to bit all this data within a single USB cord, the comms audio out is 16000 hz. Ideally this is used so you can have 60% game audio and 40% comms audio or something like that, but the comms sound terrible so I don't use them. And you don't have to use it, if you just set everything to the game audio like a normal headset it works fine.

I have used these on xbox, ps4, and pc. Quality sound, comfortable, best set I’ve owned. Only took a star because the curbside pickup was inefficient. Ordered online a few hours before close, was told it would be about 45 minutes and I would receive notification via text. I received no notification so I showed up just before close and asked about them. Employees acted as if I was lucky to be getting them as close to close. Will probably be making my next purchase elsewhere
