When I first got this headset it worked great. After a few days the cable was damaged and the mic wouldn't work. I tried different devices to see if it was just my pc that wasn't compatible with the headset but that wasn't the case. I don't recommend this headset if you're looking for something long-term.

These headphones have a great sound are a cheap and fantastic way to get into gaming headphones. but the mic is very low quality and mine had cross talk issues. a problem that plagues this model. I would recommend avoiding this one and going with a different HyperX model.

This headset had good sound quality and seemed like it was of good quality, but unfortunately it was too tight and had too much pressure on my jaw area which made it uncomfortable to use for extended periods of time.

Bought this for my pc. I’ve only had it for a few months and the sound won’t work on both ears if the volume is all the way up. The microphone just stoped working making the headset useless now. Sound quality is great... so eh.

I really loved these headphones, especially as a glasses wearer, but after only a year or so of having them one headphone's sound cuts in and out. I think it may be a cord issue. Regardless, it is unreliable and very annoying when gaming.

The first gaming headset I would ever recommend

As someone who's spent years trying various gaming headsets and finding most to be "just okay" at best, HyperX did the unthinkable and made the first pair I would actually consider excellent. I stopped buying headsets for years in favor of standard headphones, as typically a $100 pair headphones will beat a $100 gaming headset in sound AND comfort, but the Cloud Alpha surprised me with how good it sounds, even compared to my $280 Sennheisers. The bass is nice and full, not too muddy like some cheaper sets tend to do, while still having a nice clear middle and high end with no noticeable distortion, making them pleasant for not only gaming but also listening to music or watching movies. The closed design cuts out most of the outside noise, which is good for gaming where pinpointing a sound can spell the difference between winning or losing. The microphone is decent but nothing special, and it's removable if you don't need it. The memory foam earpads are comfortable, not too tight on my ears even when wearing glasses, and the adjustable headband is nice. Nothing on the headset really feels cheap and the build is very sturdy. I would have liked to have the extra pair of fabric earpads like the Cloud II has, but it's not a deal breaker. The carrying case is also a nice extra. Overall, the quality and value for the price can't be beat. I've tried many headsets in and around this price range and this is the first that impressed me. For $100, or even a bit more, I would recommend them over the vast majority of headsets. If you normally scoff at gaming headsets in general, give them a listen and they may surprise you.
