Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the engaging gameplay and enjoyable story of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, with many praising the additional storyline and hours of gameplay it offers. While some players found the frame rate and overall performance to be inconsistent at times, the game's action and content were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects. The game's fun factor was also frequently mentioned. However, some players wished for a more open-world experience similar to Breath of the Wild.

This game is a MASSIVE step up from the previous Hyrule Warriors games, and while there are come issue with cheap shots with some enemy types, the game exceeded my expectation of a typical hack and slash, if you found the first game frustrating, this game went above and beyond to give the player some cheap shots of their own to even the playing field. Hint: Play with someone else on 2 player, and just spam Stasis.

At the core this is a Zelda Spin off game and is instead a Dynasty Warriors game with a BotW skin on it. I got this as a general fan of the BotW as the game serves as a prequel to BotW. Gameplay wise I enjoy the mechanics behind the game's combo system, so if you are coming over from game of a similar genre, like Bayonetta, then this may suit your interests.

This game really stands out as being a great game. I like it better than Breath of the Wild to be honest. Many would disagree with me but I also like the original Hyrule Warriors a lot too. They have been putting out about one Zelda game a year for the Switch. I just started playing this game tonight and am thrilled that this year is not a total flop due to the virus. I can't wait to unlock more characters.

My favorite Warriors game, by far! Great to be in Hyrule and with all these playable characters:) Such a great and fun way to play until BOTW 2! My son and I have a blast playing and it’s great bonding time and challenging enough to where you can control varying degrees of difficulty. It does get a little dicey/lag-time can be all over the place in 2 player mode. Over all, I highly recommend this new entry

MASTAPIECE! It's a great blending of Breath of the Wild and Dynasty Warriors that puts the prior Hyrule Warriors to shame. It's time travel but who cares I'm jamming out to Chip Skylark's Shiny Teeth as I mow down hordes of enemies as the dashing Prince Sidon. If you need more reason than that there's simply no pleasing you. Go play Sonic and the Secret Rings if this is too much for you.

We have long been fans of the Hyrule adventures and this is another great one in the series. We have collected all of the Nintendo Hyrule games and when we heard that this was the new episode we preordered it and we aren’t disappointed. This is a great new adventure and if you are a fan of this adventure you shouldn’t hesitate to get it. I’m sure it’s going to be an extraordinary item in your collection.

wish the FPS was 60, but i suppose it's fine despite that small setback. it probably could've been better with more characters as well like the other Hyrule Warriors switch game, but i guess since this is more focused on story and continuity of this timeline, it makes sense. overall, worth the purchase

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity offers a welcome trip back to a world I’ve clocked hundreds of hours in. Its hugely varied roster of characters, solid combat mechanics, fun progression and clever adaptation of Breath of the Wild’s vision of Hyrule is a joy to play and discover. While there are some missed characterisation opportunities, Age of Calamity is still a blast from start to finish.

While I didnt expect to fall in love with the original Hyrule Warriors, I should have at least knew that my love for zelda games would overtake. This one is no exception. Its a nice trip back into the world we explored in BOTW and shows what things were like before everything went down. The music, the characters....its like a nice security blanket while we await for more information on BOTW 2!

I bought this game as a Christmas present for my son and he lit up when he pulled this out of his stocking. We are both Link fans and when this was released in November 2020 I knew I was going to buy it. At the time the reviews on the game play were amazing, there was no second guessing if I should or should not buy it, plus it has 2 player capability which is new for a Link/Zelda videogame.

There are tons of side missions to complement the main story levels, so it is easy to sink in a ton of hours. My only major gripe is the choppy frame rate at times, but if you can get past that, the game is a ton of fun. If you liked the original Hyrule Warriors, you will probably enjoy this despite some differences in the mechanics.
