Not open world like breath of the wild but still a really good game and good story

Fun hack and slash game with a plethora of characters to choose from. It's not the epic storytelling that usually accompanies the typical Zelda games, but it never was supposed to be. It's a fun run around and kill things in huge hoards with your swords, arrows, and what not. If you've ever played any of the Dynasty warrior games, then you already know what this is. It's fun, the overall story is short, but the replay value if you have time to kill just messing around is there. I'm a fan of both Zelda and Dynasty Warrior games, so this is a win win in my book.

I bought this game on a sale to add to my collection. Already finished it with my cousin. If you like Zelda, you probably know this is not the typical dungeon exploration, puzzle solving game. It is more like Dynasty Warrios and the gameplay is completely different. This expands on the Breath of the Wild story and explains the events before that game. It’s good for watching the story unfold, but it can get repetitive sometimes.

Really enjoying this game. I'm not usually into the Hyrule Warriors style game but I think everyone's unique fighting styles are really fun and I love getting more of the Breath of the Wild story, even if it's technically an alternate timeline. If you're not sure about it, I recommend trying the trial from the eshop - it gives you a good idea of whether you're going to like this or not.

Thus far, I have enjoyed Hyrule Warriors. I’m a fan of the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors franchises, and the producer of those games produced this. It’s a different way of viewing Zelda, and it’s more than just “hack n slash”. They did a really nice job with the story, and it’s full of comedy. I give it 5 stars. I’ve clocked probably 25+ hours on it already, and on Chapter 4.

I liked it a lot more than the first game. The cut scenes are great, the variety of characters are surprising and it doesn't feel like a DW game reskined with BoTW but rather BoTW meets DW. Totally worth full price or if it ever drops to $40, I say go for it. Also it has 2 player! This review is from someone who has put about ~25 hours into the game and still has 2 chapters to go.

This is a Hack n Slash Zelda Game. The biggest downside is that when you dock this game it runs very poor (Poor framerate and visual glitches) handheld suprising much smoother. The gameplay itself is mainly just button mashing combos in a specifc order and watching enemies fly in the air. The game is reasonable difficulty but can get to be a chore near the end. Its a nice brainless game but also introduces some interesting mechanics with each new character and the shiek slate tools. (Freeze . Time Stop / magnetism)

A Zelda Warriors style game. Its fun though i understand that some people may not like this style and thats okay. Everyone has different preferences and that great. ^^/

I absolutely loved this Game! For once you can play as all the mythical characters and even enemies from breath of the wild Mythos. It gives a deep dive into the lore and a big “what if”. The characters are well balanced and there’s a lot to see and do hidden in the entire Game even when I finished the story I still had things to do and even more hidden content!

Fun couch co-op to play with friends. It has a good story.

If you like Warriors/Musuo style games then this one is just excellent. Know ahead of time that this is a prequel to Breath of the Wild, but plays NOTHING like that game. Despite that, it is still an excellent game with very well done combat/cutscenes/music/overworld map. A good addition to the Zelda library from someone who has been playing them for nearly 35 years

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a solid game that require you to come in with certain expectations to enjoy. If you are looking for the true follow-up to the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild this game is not that. It's not even really a traditional Zelda game, it's definitely a Warriors game and all that entails. It does however do a good job of *feeling* like it's set in Breath of the Wild's world, even if it doesn't play like it. If you go in expecting to have some mindless fun like any Warriors game, you'll have a good time.

Love this game graphics are amazing once you start playing you can’t stop

At first when i played Hyrule Warriors I thought to be boring and not amusing. However since i loved Botw and this story takes place from the beginning I had to try it, and wow this Hyrule warriors takes the crown; it is awesome and I love it.
