Give it a chance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been following The xx since their first LP and was suuuper not into this album at first, but it’s grown on me since the first couple listens. Def more upbeat than the first two releases, but it makes sense regarding their progression.

Solid
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been listening to these guys since their debut album - xx. They aren't my most favorite, or my top 10, or even my top 20. They just sound good and they're great to listen to, especially in my car. This album is on par with their last, which I found to be a solid album as well. I definitely think that their debut album will by my favorite by them, albeit this one has a few great songs that I enjoy very much, with others that are quite good. A little poppier, still good and distinctive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The xx gained attention and a devout following with a quiet, stark, atmospheric sound. I See You, the band's third record, has a slightly fuller, more standard sound. The band has stepped a bit away from what made them special but I See You isn't slick and cynical. And I'm all for catchy songs like On Hold, I Dare You, Say Something Loving and A Violent Noise. I See You is a good, confident sounding record.

Not as good as the Debut but better than Coexist
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the XX debut album, pretty much any song I found myself listening to on repeat. Their second album, Coexist, was pretty much a flop for me. I've listened to I See You several times now and there are a few winners on the CD. But they still haven't been able tap back into the simple brilliance that was their debut album.

An excellent addition to the Brit trio's catalogue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a five year absence (which is a lifetime in pop music), The XX returns with a more expansive sound. As usual for this group, the album unfolds slowly over repeat listens and requires close scrutiny. As the band members no approach their thirties, "I See You" is both a mature statement and a clear evolution. It's a safe early bet for one of the major releases of 2017...

4.5 stars, but you can't do that here
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jamie xx has learned a lot about the sonic palette from doing his solo record, and it shows here in the variety of settings he creates for Romy and Oliver. The effect is not the intimate whispers of the first record, but that of group coming into its artistic maturity. Recommend highly.

More Dense and More of the Same
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's not a lot to separate this album from the previous two XX albums but what seems to be a bit more technical prowess in the studio. The album feels like a more dense continuation of what XX has been doing for some years now. Nothing new, just better.

The XX Proves They Aren't Going Anywhere
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been a while since we've heard from the XX and they deliver once again proving they are true artists of the 21st century. Their sound is much fuller yet they still manage to retain their unique sound.

Way better than the first CD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually have listened to this CD at least once a day since I bought it when it cam out. "Say Something", "Violent Noise", "Hold On", and "I Dare You" are my favorite songs off of the CD. Its upbeat, deep, and some songs you kind of have to read into.

excellent music by The XX on "I See You"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had heard a song by The XX on the TV show PERSON OF INTEREST and wanted to hear more so, I bought a CD; and The XX did not disappoint! "I See You" is full of terrific songs suitable for every mood. I highly recommend their music.

Different, but good.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The xx, on their latest effort, break away from the minimalist code that defined their first two efforts, resulting in a more full-bodied, but no less satisfying work. A beautiful album from a group that continues to evolve.

I like their sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing radically different from the other 2 xx CD's in my collection. I like their sound and this one doesn't disappoint (although I like the 2 earlier ones slightly more).

Their best so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one is definitely much better than the last album. Where the last one all sounded the same, there is a lot of sounds going on but still maintains that chill vibe.

Popular Band
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the XX's third album. The style of this album is different compared to the last two. Overall it is a very good album and is recommended for purchase. If you are able to see them live, don't miss it.

The xx Factor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this album! It's been about four years since their last cd - Coexist! The trio is back once again, and their new album is a fun fusion and blend of R&B and Indie Pop. Love it!

The New Album From The UK Trio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This album incorporates a number of new styles from group producer Jamie xx into what was The xx's formula for their previous albums with great success.
