I didn’t find that to be the case. It employs a ton of features, some of which I don’t use but they’re there if I choose to use them. The wake up light feature is just awesome. Great product so far.

The light effect are perfect for a night light, with a very soft glow. The functions are pretty simple. And really pumps out sound. Highly recommend
