Never called back to setup
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was a difficult issue. There was free installation due to the price. When I went to engage the service the next morning, after purchasing at 2100 hrs the night before, I never received a call back until I complained. A major issue was the store associates themselves questioning whether I qualified for an installation because I did not setup an appointment at the time I purchased the unit. Ultimately, the Geek Squad manager for the store contacted me via email, to which I called him, and he proceeded to provide justification or reasoning prior to me explaining the entire matter. Ultimately he acknowledged their failure but missed that I intended to purchase another radio to replace my truck double dinn. He offered NO acknowledgment of this fact and assistance to assure installation for that purchase would be handled better. Very disappointed with this experience.

Never again.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still haven’t got my radio installed because they told me when I originally scheduled that I needed to replace dash due to crack so I bought new one, was going to any ways so no big deal but what really was aggravating is they said I wouldn’t need to put it in since they were taking it out anyways, makes sense right? Really appreciated it as well, then I get there after having to wait 2 weeks for closest install date and they refused to without me getting it installed first. So now instead of paying the extra 14.99 to have installed when I purchased the dash board I have to pay 60$ to get it installed just to have them take it back out and put it back in. Very rude about it as well acted like I should have known this, even after being told I was instructed by the man next to him not to. After this radio is installed I will not be going back and I’ve bought a lot of audio from Best Buy. Was about to have sensors installed in wife’s new car. Not anymore.

Decent JVC deck

The salesman inside the store assured me it was a great device and a good brand. “Shouldn’t give you any issues.” The device worked excellent the first 2 weeks. Now it doesn’t recognize my phone a lot of the time, freezes a lot to the point i need to keep powering off and on again. Sometimes it wont play sound. Im sad i paid over $100 for something that doesn’t work all the time/appropriately.

Had to completely disconnect it to get it to turn back on. Unsure if its the pioneer stereo or if it wasnt properly installed

Customer service Geek Squad Screw up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I called Best Buys customer service indicating I wanted a radio installed in my 2008 HHR and if I would be able to get everything I needed ahead of time so I did not have to return to the store since it was 40 minutes away. Customer service stated everything I would need would be done when I ordered the radio and set up Geek Squad service. I ordered the radio and the Geek Squad service. Geek squad sent an email that I was to set up an appointment to have the radio installed. I set up an appointment and showed up the next day 40 minutes away to have the radio installed. They informed me they did not have the harness they needed. It was a standard install for the type of radio I wanted installed in my car. Apparently Crutchfield gets it when you order a radio what is needed to install it. Why didn't anyone tell me when I called? Why wasn't that suggested when I ordered the radio there was parts that needed to be purchased? Why didn't Geek Squad send an email stating what would be needed to install the radio? If you offer a service you should know what is needed to do the job before someone drives out 40 minutes and wastes their time! I asked for a refund of the radio and geek squad service while I was at the store and left. Thanks for wasting my time!

So far a waste of money

Once there I was told to pay couple hundred more to get the radio installed. I was just trying to save time but after that experience I installed the radio myself total work time maybe 45 to 60 minutes.

Two batteries later I took it to another installer and found the wrong harness was installed repeatedly draining the battery looking for a navigation system that doesn’t exist.

I don’t know if I can say enough bad….

I had a stereo and speakers put in an old truck that was in far from perfect shape. But the install was so far from complete it isn’t funny. To list what I discovered wrong in the 30 minute drive home in the dark…. 1. Cup holder not re installed and left loose 2. Microphone for radio not installed 3. Existing rear speakers that were to remain not functioning. Can’t wait to go out I. The daylight and see what else is jacked up! A terrible value even for the ‘free’ radio install.

No good

My dash was broke as well as the factory radio that was took out wires were hanging down from under my dash for the Mic to the new head unit. Worst install job ever. I have not been back to best buy since and probably will never go back to best buy.
