Q: Do you have to buy a car radio at Best Buy to have the Geek Squad install it?
A: No, you don't have to purchase the radio from Best Buy. That is the cool thing about their GS Install. You could purchase the deck, the harness, and the install kit elsewhere and have them install it!
A: You'll also have to purchase the kit that adapts the radio to your dash as well as the wiring harness. You may also have to buy a microphone and a Sirius XM receiver and antenna if your new radio is so equipped. That's what I did and have loved it. I went to the Best Buy in the mall so I could have them install it while I walked around some then stopped for lunch. They called me when it was done. It was very easy and and aftermarket radio I buy in the future will be installed by my local Geek Squad. Thanks
Q: Does Best buy have audio installation on Sundays and where in the inland empire
A: I have a appointment on sunday do they do install on sundays
Q: What do you mean by "hardware not included"???? please explain, Thanks
A: You have to buy two or three addl relatively inexpensive pieces, depending on your car: * a wiring harness that is specific to your car and to the new radio. You will unplug the wiring connector that goes to your old radio and plug that wiring connector into one end of this wiring harness piece. The other end of the wiring harness piece plugs into your new radio. * an "installation kit" thing which is really some plastic and/or metal cutouts that fit the dash area of your car. These pieces allow your new radio to fit in securely to your dash and, again, are specific to the new radio model and your car model. * I did not need an antenna adapter, but apparently it is sometimes necessary to allow your existing antenna wire (that you remove from your old radio) to plug into the new radio. On mine, it was the same connector so no need for this part. In short, the "additional hardware" refers to some bits that are specific to car make and model, so they cannot practically include these pieces in the box of the new radio since they don't know what kind of car you have!
Q: Do you guys install underglow kits and how much?
A: I have had them done in two cars and getting them done in another in October. I don't remember pricing however I was just there and the tech said it would take 2-3 hours if that helps.
Q: Does the stereo and deck have to be purchased at best buy?
A: Yes. I purchased a stereo online from another vendor and brought it to Best Buy. They had no problem with it. It fit perfectly and works great.
Q: Do I have to purchase my amplifier and speakers from Best Buy to have geek squad install it for me?
A: NO, but I would take it some where where they have more MUCH more knowledge of installation! They broke my dash and installed wrong radio! Check YELP and other places before choosing!
A: If you bought it from best buy & it's over $100 you get free installation, but you'll have to provide the accessories
