A great hero/villian game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Imagine you woke up with super powers and were pursued by the government. Would you use your powers for good and try to better the world, or would you use your powers to fight against your pursuers. This is the basic plot of Infamous Second Son. With your new powers you enter Seattle and have a variety of missions and sidequests to pursue, or you can follow the storybeats. Either way your in for a blast. There's plenty of showcase graphics for the PS4 and a great story to go with it. Well worth the cost of admission

Overall a solid open world game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this was a great game. I enjoyed playing the entire game start to finish, and didn't stop until I was at 100% completion. The combat was challenging without being maddening, and the various powers were creative and enjoyable to use. Add to that an interesting story, and it's a pretty complete package. The main complaints I have are that the various random street quests throughout the game are pretty much just the same thing over and over...I can only heal so many people on the ground, shoot down so many tracker drones or break up so many drug gangs until I wonder why they are even included in the game play. When it comes to random activities that you pass by, GTA V this is not. Also, by the time you get some of the best powers, the game is already over, so there's not a lot to do with them (unless you choose to ignore all side quests until the end of the game, which slows your ability to level up and probably isn't a good way to go through the game). All told, this is a solid entry in the series and good early game through the PS4, but I'd look forward to much greater depth and variety from future sequels.

Great Follow Up to the First Two
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having played the first two Infamous games, this was a good entry into the series. The graphics are quite good and no noticeable issues with framerate, which is to be expected on the PS4. Gameplay is crisp and tends not be frustrating. Story is good but a little predictable. Not too much to do after beating it the first time except to take the path you chose not to take the first play through (and get new abilities). Overall a very good game.

A great looking, average action game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The biggest takeaway from the game is the graphics - they are superb. The city and characters have a great amount of detail to them, showing off what the PS4 is capable of. The particle effects in this game are some of the best I've seen. In the beginning, as the game hands out your initial powers and abilities at a steady pace, wrecking havoc in the city is very fun. As the game wears on, you will repeat the same things over and over again against a very shallow set of enemies, both in looks and AI. The story is not very engaging and I'm glad that it ended when it did, even though the story missions themselves can be completed in 5-6 hours. The side missions add length to the game, but I wouldn't say they add fun. I would recommend to a friend who already owns a PS4 just as a showcase of the potential of the new system when it comes to graphics, but would suggest that they wait until it's in the bargain bin, although by then all games may look this good. I would not suggest buying a PS4 just for this game. For reference, I completed this game on Expert with 100% completion with Good Karma.

Great Game!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game I got with my PS4, and I loved it. You get to explore Seattle with super powers, and will find just how fun it can be. The gamplay feels great, and you will find yourself immersed in a good storyline, where you can choose to be good or evil. A fantastic game.

Great game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gameplay was fun and mixed up with different abilities, and the story was enough to hold my attention. I liked the characters, and the graphics were solid. In some cutscenes the facial animations realistically portray emotions in an impressive way.

Quite the PS4 Debut
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Infamous: Second Son is, quite frankly, the best Infamous game and, in my humble opinion, the most impressive looking current generation game. While the case can be made for both Ryse and Killzone: Shadow Fall's graphics, Infamous: Second Son looks just as good, at least in my opinion, and it's a nonlinear open world, making it all the more impressive. For example, the lighting effects, reflections, rain textures, etc. are absolutely stunning. As for the gameplay, it's as good as ever. More smooth and fluid than both Infamous and Infamous 2, Infamous: Second Son rarely disappoints in the play department. You may get an odd animation quirk every once in a while, but it's really no big deal. And lastly, the presentation is absolutely top notch. From facial animation, to lip sync, to voice acting, to storytelling, to just about everything on display in the detailed cutscenes, Infamous: Second Son is the biggest step that Sucker Punch Productions has taken with the Infamous series.

Expansive and fun Open World
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have enjoyed this game very much. It brings back a lot of what was in the previous InFamous titles but broadens on it more. The fact you can have multiple powers and switch between them relatively easy is a great addition to an already great series of games. Let's face it though, you don't normally pick these titles up for the story.plot, you get them to beat the heck out people. This does with grace, fluidity, and ease. The controls are top notch and never let you down. Combat is extremely responsive especially when there are ton's of enemies on screen. The brute force behind the PS4 greatly lends to the stability of the game performance and it never really wavers even when looking across the city even from the highest point of view. The graphics are certainly awesome. Textures are crisp, and the draw distance is very high so you can see quite a ways off. It really does help to immerse you into Delsin's world. The only thing that I would have like more was the characters to be more, idk interesting, as well as the story. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, it just felt somewhat detracted. The first 2 games had decent story to them, but back to my point above about this being about beating people up, I wasn't in it for the story. Anyways, if you have a PS4 don't deprive yourself of this great title.

Truly awesome!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So when this game was initially announced, it just did not appeal to me. I played the first one, and I just was never much of a fan of the Infamous franchise. Well, this game was so talked up and the reviews were so good that I decided to give it a whirl. $60 is not a small amount of money, so I definitely hoped that I did not regret my purchase on this one. Let me say – it is worth every penny so far. First of all – the graphics on the PS4 for this game are amazing. It does an awesome job of showcasing the potential of the PS4. The sights of Seattle are totally breathtaking and the amount of detail shown in the characters’ faces is unreal. Also, this is one of the few games that really utilizes the new features of the DualShock 4 controller. The touchpad and the speaker are both used in very cool ways for this game. The gameplay is also very fun. I think it’s a bit challenging, but not so hard that you will want to throw your controller across the room and give up. I like that there is a specific storyline, but that there is also this open world that you can explore as well as tons of side missions. I find myself wanting to play so that I can complete every single part of this game. I have probably already put around 8-10 hours into it and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface - talk about getting your money’s worth! This is definitely one of the best PS4 games to date. Awesome.

Great Fun, Beautiful Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Infamous Second Son is a great game with stunning graphics and fluid gameplay that really takes advantage of the PS4's bigger horsepower. Following the events of the first two Infamous games, you get to play Anti-Hero Delsin Rowe as he explores his new powers (with 4 different elements of powers earned during the game) and tries to rescue his friends and family while taking down those who are against powered conduits like himself. The game takes place in a gorgeously re-created Seattle, including many life-like landmarks and locations from the real life city. Neon lights make the city glow, reflecting in pools of water throughout the rain-soaked city. Transitioning the map using a myriad of your super powers and an intelligently crafted parkour system makes just leaping around and exploring a blast. The game's difficulty isn't hard and allows for even beginners to enjoy the experience, but even with super powers you are not invincible and when baddies gang up on you even experienced players will have to take the battle with caution. You are given Karma choices through the story, picking to act good or bad. Deciding to go Famous or Infamous can alter the powers available to you slightly. Being a good guy gives you more precision powered attacks, allowing you to attack only the targets you choose. However, going the Infamous path gives you access to more powerful, yet chaotic powers that can cause destruction to villain and bystander alike. Despite the ability to pick infamous or good karma choices, outside of the change in powers and how the people around the city treat you, there is very little "replay" to the game once you have completed it. It is worth it to play through for the other choices you didn't make and try out the new powers. Also there are plenty of side quests places to explore that the game will keep your busy for a while, however once you have completed that, the experience is over. The game offers no online mode and no content creation mode that was offered in the second Infamous game. There is however an arena/trial mode that lets you test your survival and scores against those around the world that adds a little bit of replay to the game, however unless you are really someone who needs to be ranked #1 this mode offers very little staying power. Overall, this is a great game. If you enjoyed the previous titles or just titles that allow you to have super powers and you want to test out the new capabilities of your PS4, this game is a great choice. If you are looking for a game to keep you occupied for months, this game is not for you.

Great 4 Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this game almost a year after its release and it is a great game, not as grinding as the first was and not as boring as the second one imo. The graphics are great i just can't get in to Delsin he is a horrible character i much prefer the supporting cast and in ways wish one of them was the main character but other than my personal dislike for the charter i really like the game and the openness of if. It shows off some of the power of the 4 and lets you know that games will only get better, can't wait for Uncharted 4.

Still Infamous, New Shine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who played the first two inFamous games, I am pleasantly surprised to find a lot to enjoy in this new entry. Forgoing the original protagonist due to use of the canon inFamous 2 Good ending, this one picks up with newcomer Delsin in Seattle. The game is much prettier than most of its competition, thanks in part to being a PS4 exclusive. The powers have great effects and Delsin is as mobile a main character as ever. While it is an improvement, it doesn't stretch much past looks for me. The world is not as active as something like GTA V, and there is still a B-movie atmosphere lingering in all of the writing and characters that makes this feel like it had no help from any Oscar nominated writers or actors. The world isn't a bold new vision like BioShock to get your emotions running high, and the combat is still not as free-flowing as something like Arkham City. All-in-all, this game is the first PS4 exclusive you were waiting for, but not the one that will define the system for you and be among the best.
