This tablet had very limited options. It seemed to me that it was made very cheaply. And it would not work for what I needed it for. Even though the Box represented that it would. Even the guys at The Geek Squad could not make it work for what I needed.

    Great Value

Have used this tablet for several weeks and purchased for mainly one reason, to read and watch content while traveling. My son quietly confiscated my S2 tablet for his game intensive apps and regular usage. This tablet is a great value for simple content viewing of magazines, websites, etc with just enough power to make the experience OK. I would disagree that this tablet is good for kids, as gaming requires far more CPU/GPU power. This tablet will lag badly and compatibility could be a problem with the Intel chip used. The tablet has been updated to 6.01 Security Patch Sept 2016 which should suffice for 1-2 years. I wouldn't expect to see any future updates including security updates. So be careful with sensitive information like banking. The interface is almost pure Android and no bloatware. Big bonus. The battery is lasting 7-8 hours with this low res screen, Very good. 32GB storage is great, but the 1GB RAM is a little constrictive for today's apps. SD card slot for media content is great. Conclusion: Great value when on sale for the right application. Don't compare this model to a $500 tablet !

Quality of this tab is poor. The Stealth Trio 10in. was built better this. Was told this one was equivalent to the Stealth (turns out to be in price only). I returned it immediately.

    I am absolutely disappointed!

We purchased 3 of these tablets one for me and the other two for our grandchildren. I was the first to return my tablet because it would not charge and then we had to return my grandson's for the same reason. I discovered that the main problem was the POWER CORD FAILS quickly. My granddaughter's father purchased a new cord for her and hers is working well. I purchased my tablet so that I could download the kindle app and listen to music. Occasionally I play games. I am on Candy Crush level 22. I also thought having 32mg of memory would be great. I don't know how much money a person has to spend to get a great tablet but apparently we did not spend enough! We will be taking our grandson's tablet back and exchanging it for a smaller screen- same price but a brand I am familiar with. He uses his only for the games.

    Basic, cheap tablet

Let's be clear, this is a $99 tablet. If you're used to iPad or even Galaxy, you'll be disappointed. I got it for $99 but it went on sale the next week, they credited me the difference with no hassles. Even at $79, it's nothing special but works fine for web surfing and Netflix. The rear cover gets hot after extended use, the screen is forever smudged, and the battery goes from 20% to 5% in a flash. It's also slow, like turn it on and go make a sandwich slow, power up can take three minutes. Apps crash randomly, but if you charge it fully, shut it off completely every few days, and stay away from pern sites, it does OK without locking up. Overall it's what I was looking for to replace my stolen and archaic iPad 1 for half the price I was willing to spend, and the picture is very good even for all the complaints.

Nice when it works. Unfortunately that's not very often. Wanted a bigger screen because I primarily use it for video streaming. But with little RAM and a slower processor, streaming apps take for ever to load. Then there's the internet connectivity issues. This tablet will not stay connected to my network. Only device I own with this problem. So frustrating that I'm back to streaming on my cell phone mostly. Don't be lured by the vice of a cheap purchase. Spend a little extra for a name brand. This tablet isn't worth the frustration.

Not a bad tablet but there are some caveats.

    Posted .

I have a Galaxy Tab E with 16gb and am frustrated with the fact that Samsung does not allow formatting a MicroSD card as internal storage, which means I have to move apps every time they are updated. The Insignia does allow formatting as internal storage, which is great. The screen size and resolution is great, but the Wifi would cut out intermittently, even with putting an access point in the same room. The touch screen was resistant to my stylus and there was a noticeable slow down compared to my Tab E. I think is a great first tablet for an older person or your children, but not necessarily a good upgrade from an existing tablet.

    Too Bad

I owned the previous model to this one and I'm actually shocked at the drop off in quality. Has Marshmallow yes, but is terribly slow with a minimally responsive touchscreen. I'll give the screen credit for its brightness and clarity, but if you're a stylus user like me, you'll give up and just use your greasy finger. Still only 1 GB of RAM...as much as I liked the previous 10 inch Insignia, I would've thought this one would've been upgraded in performance instead of staying the same. Cheap for $69.95, but my Kindle HD8 embarrasses this device. I now own 10 tablets and its going back to 9 tomorrow.
