    Basic tablet, decent price

I've been using this tablet since late November, 2017. No, it's not a high-end device, but I didn't expect it to be at $70. For basic functions, however, it's not bad. Even so, a few cautionary points should be followed by anyone using this tablet. First, Insignia's build of the OS (Android Nougat 7.0) isn't the greatest, and hopefully if/when they get around to an upgrade to Oreo a lot of issues will get addressed. Until then, using a system optimizer on a routine basis (I use System Repair 2018 myself) seems to keep a lot of the weirder behavior mentioned in other reviews under control. Other than this issue, I'm actually rather pleased with this tablet. The 6000 mAh battery provides an excellent runtime, even with a lot of WiFi access when using it. The 32 GB internal storage is basic, but again, this is no top-shelf device and it does take up to a 128 GB microSD for additional filespace, which I hope Insignia will take up to 200+ GB if and when we see an OS upgrade. Screen quality is quite good, although I recommend getting a screen recalibrator from the Google Play store so that you can adjust the touchscreen's sensitivity and calibration to your taste, as Insignia's initial settings weren't very good. But other than some not-quite-right factory settings like that and the need to system-clean more frequently than on other computers I've used, I really have no complaints. No, it's not super-fast or hi-glitz, it just does what you'd expect for a basic Android tablet, and does that decently.

My son cracked his old tablet screen, so I decided to buy him a new one for Christmas. I dont want to spend alot on a tablet fora kid, so when I saw this tablet I thought it would have been perfect. And at first it was perfect. Good picture, for price of tablet. Lots of storage. And seemed to load stuff and operate quickly enough. However, \he has only had it for about 3 months now, and we have lots of issues. Lots of resetting because it says its not connected to internet, even though other devices are still online. Also lots of freezing/locking up. It will just freeze in the middle of a game and be stuck on that screen. Cant go back to home page or anything. Only thing I have found to do is hold down power button until it powers off, then turn it back on. Also gets very slow and sluggish at times. Really wish I would have spent a bit more and got something better. Will never spend money on Insignia products again.

    Can't be beat for $99

After almost 5 years my Nexus 7 2013 (that I bought from Best Buy) died. At the time, it was Google's flagship product, state-of-the-art and at $230 beat out the competition by 100's of dollars. I wanted to learn Android basics and after the warranty expired, I rooted it an went to town. As I don't need a tablet for anything important, I could not justify another $200-300 outlay for a replacement. So it was difficult to pass up this very competent tablet for the price. All the "save your money, waste of money" reviews are troll blah. Try and find a 32 GB 10.1" Android 7.0 tablet that comes close without doubling or tripling the price. I have restored nearly 150 of the apps I had on the Nexus and while this Insignia is not as snappy, it's quite stable. I'm also enjoying the addtional 3" of display. Note that the screen may black out for a few seconds when switching between "heavy" apps. Use a version of XBrowser for the webbuhnetz and you'll be OK. The "Fastest Mini Browser" by XMan is superb and well supported with timely updates to the latest XBrowser builds. A big plus is that this Android OS is the core Google product and not loaded with manufacturer (Samsung, Motorola, etc.) bling, bloat and questionable "utilities" and "features." Full system scans with Bitdefender and Zemana found no vulnerabilities. Best Buy sourced this tablet from Lightcomm Technology (Hong King) who markets it globally as the MID1023MA in 8 and 32 MB models with 1 and 2 GB RAM respectively. Too bad Best Buy hampered its NS-P10A8100 with 1 GB RAM to drop the price point by a few bucks.

This thing is slow as a slug on salt, the 1GB of ram is NOT enough to do anything, even pulling up a web browser takes forever. Save your money and get something better. Returning this thing right now.

I have had this tablet for roughly eight months now. I've more than given it time and put it through the works. I knew going in it wouldn't be great or even that good. But at the end of the day and even with buying it at $30 off, I still can't recommend it. I am very tech & computer savvy and again I was aware of what I was getting into. Yet, I have simply found it is too slow and too unresponsive to work with. At best, it's an okay e-reader. Trying anything else on here is a laborious task. It frequently pops up warnings that an app isn't responding/has stalled. It has recently started not only dropping Wi-Fi networks but COMPLETELY turning off the Wi-Fi on its own. I have also noticed it can be very difficult to "fire back up" again from sleep. You have to hold the power button forever just to get it going even when FULLY charged. Never seen anything like it. A Mattel or Hasbro tablet for kids is surely better than this. The simplest things make this tablet choke and stall. Save your money. I beg you. Either get a good tablet or just don't get one at all. I will note the screen isn't bad looking. Nice enough resolution. That's probably the best thing about it and that's not saying much. Man, oh man, it is so frustratingly sloooooow. Oh, and of course, the Android OS won't update in anyway. Ugh.

I purchased this for my mother in law. Already owning several Samsung S2, S3 and Tab A tablets I had the opportunity to compare this to other models. This was the worst, not even as good as a base entry level Samsung E tablet. SLOW, very little sound, awful picture, couldn't Skype, or watch videos without lagging . My mother in law is in her 70's and did not have the time to wait for this tablet to catch up with her... I exchanged this for a Samsung Tab S2 and paid an extra $243 but it was worth the upgrade. She loves it ... The only good things about the tablet were the $74 price and the storage space. Processor was very slow and could not even use some apps my mother in law currently uses on her Galaxy s5 phone.

If I had the option to choose no star for this tablet I would, this tablet is a slow as snail, it is true when they say "you get what you pay for" I will be returning this tablet today, is freezes up with any basic app, not even five minutes will pass and the app force closes, I normally never write product reviews, but I wanted to make sure everyone was aware on how slow this tablet is. please do not waste your time and money with this tablet.
