Make sure you don’t lose the remote cause it would be hard for a Kid to use without the remote.

Keep a warranty. They work great for a while then the car port charger seems to always break and I mean actually fall into pieces. Or it will stop charging one of the tvs like a short in the wire. The sound is great and I love the remote controls and being able to share movies. And insignia doesn't have the car adapter so you cant call them so your only choice is find a substitute somewhere or return back to best buy for a new one

Excellent devices! Great design for your automobile entertainment. My kids love this newly upgraded dvd system. Each dvd player can play their own dvd or sync with their pair to watch the same one together. Each player has its own remote and can plug in headphones to eliminate noisy backseat sound. Comes with a secure headrest mounting for each and has a front facing interface for easy use. We absolutely love this!!! Worth every cent!

I purchased these duo portable dvds thinking maybe in June 2020 and today 12/6/2020 one DVD player stop working outta no where. It’s on blue just a blue screen. Does show the movie and I can hear the DVD player reading the dvd but nothing happening. What a waste.

It was poorly packaged. They literally just plastic wrapped it and sent it off and the box was very dinged up. The player feel cheap but as long as they work should be okay.

Neat travel gadget for passengers (kids) when on a road trip. Good for car and home use. CONS: The players are remote-control dependent, so if it’s busted or lost, you’re out of luck controlling the players’ extra and main features. The remotes are tiny, jammed packed with LOTS of buttons, which are somewhat hard to press. Each player comes with its own remote and cannot be used interchangeably. The viewing angle on the screen is like a budget LED…it will look washed out unless viewing it straight-on. On the road, changing DVDs will be a pain since the player will have to be unharnessed from the car headrest holder to open the disc chamber. PROS: Volume is not loud by design, since the player harness is installed right behind the driver/front passenger car headrests, so plug-in headphones are suggested for a better listening experience (no Bluetooth). The player will remember where it was stopped and resume play, unless the DVD is taken out or power is not maintained. A (flimsy, non-padded) carrying case is included to hold the players and accessories. An auto power Y-adaptor and 2 household plugs are included. Will see if the player can last a year or more. Read other reviews about how these players will die between 1 to 12 months from use. For the price ($130), I hope the value is there.

I bought these two portable DVD players after reading the reviews about them. I bought them back in October 2022, so I have had them about 10 months now to be able to review them. I use one in the car for my toddler for nursery rhymes and long road trips with educational DVDs. It works so well and is easy to use. We keep the remote in the front seat and whenever the show goes back to the main menu, its so easy to hit play again and not have to stop the vehicle. At night time is is SUPER bright, I haven't messed with the brightness settings if there are any to turn it down some, but we rarely use it at night or drive at night, so it not a negative for us. I did turn it off the one time it did get dark driving because it was bright - not for the drivers sake, that was fine, it was just bright in toddlers eyes Depending on the DVD, the volume high is 20 can be extremely loud or low - but that is not the DVD player issue. It depends on the DVD itself. I usually keep the radio up in the car to hear my stuff while she watches (without head phones or course) The other DVD player, I have in her bedroom. Again, for educational purposes. When she is playing, it plays nursey rhymes and songs and letters/sounds, animals, in the background, but also she can look at it too. I am able to use the AC wall adapter and plug it into the wall like a regular TV. Two for the price of one and two locations - it was a brilliant purchase and very fundamental. The picture quality, whether in the car or house, is clear, sound is reasonable, and functionality is easy. DVDs don't skip or shut off or have any issues. I do highly recommend for any travelers with kids, teens, or even adults who don't want to use tablet, or phone battery life - yet want a movie in the background.

This player is a bit buggy. Sometimes it plays, sometimes it goes to the blue screen and locks up. Several DVDs that have always played on multiple systems won't play here. The buttons on there player are very confusing at first and both my daughter and wife got frustrated with them. The remote has 1000 buttons on it, bit very kid friendly at all. This unit does not strap to the headrest bars (which are parallel up and down) but to the actual headrest itself which are usually angled forward and down, so the DVD screen is facing up and very hard to see. The 12V car power plug has outputs for both individual players, but you will not have 2 car power plugs, so although both screens can play an individual movie, you'll have to buy an additional car power plug if you want to use one in each of 2 cars.

CONS: I was hoping for some sort of battery life, but for the price, I suppose needing it constantly plugged in is fair. Remote does not seem to turn units Off, just On. So, when you hit Stop on the remote, you get the blue screen as in the item picture. You need to unplug them to turn the units off. PROS: It can be plugged in to a wall outlet or a cigarette lighter outlet despite needing to be plugged in all the time. Holder is secure to headrest and picture and volume are adequate. Silence and happiness in the backseat on a long road trip are worth the price!

I picked this up hopeing to use them as monitors and connect them directly to my in-deck dvd player. It came with everything I needed, pretty much. Each one is a standalone dvd player so the kids can watch something different if they want. I can link them together and mirror one. I can also mirror my deck to one and even daisy chain that mirror to the second one from the first one. When it comes to the dreamcast, evenone gets a big bright screen and i can dim the deck or even play along. Well worth every penny i spent for this project.

We purchased this item mid-June in preparation for long road trip. Prior to the dual DVD screens, we always used a single screen DVD player, but it was a pain to keep from sliding and with three kids, there was always an argument on what DVD was played or that someone couldn’t see well. The first DVD player we received, I put it all together inside my home to make sure it all worked. Right off the bat, I had issues using the cord to watch the same dvd on both screens. It took spinning it and moving it back and forth and finally I had the same picture, but the receiving screen was noticeably “less” in clarity. I figured it was the nature of the beast and put it together in our vehicle. Well, lo and behold, the cord connecting the screens to watch the DVD would not work in our car. I tried switching it around and spinning it in the port, but nothing except a very unclear picture (so it was obviously “working”, just very badly). We decided this was too expensive to try and find another cord (hard to do) and figured we should return it and try a new one. I saw no reviews mentioning this issue and hoped we just got a lemon. My return was easy, though the sales associate was less than helpful when I asked for direction on where to find the new item as she processed the exchange and she shrugged and said she didn’t know. The second DVD player we got worked perfectly out of the box. Both screens are crystal clear and work well watching the same or different DVDs. At this point, we have only had it for a few weeks, but it’s great for doing what it’s supposed to do. I would have given 5 stars, be dropped a star because: 1. It is difficult to change dvds while the car is moving. As a passenger, it takes all of my patience. 2. Also, as this is meant to be used inna single vehicle, but *can* be used separately, I wish the maker had put the ports on opposite sides so the cord would not have to travel over one of the screens. Plus, it’s a pain to change the cords on the player on the driver’s side as the ports are right next to the frame of the car, so it’s hard to see and maneuver. 3. The remotes have a lot of buttons and are not entirely intuitive. As one would expect, kids are using these and I would have preferred something simpler and easier to navigate. I’m glad to have the remotes so my kids can have some control, but they are not overtly clear to use.

I looked at a lot of these, not sure what to get for long trips with my boys...ages 6 & 3. These are perfect. They come with a split line so you only have to plug into one port in your car. I love that they can be connected so they can watch the same thing or they can stay separate and watch different things. They work on CDs too in case music is a better option. The wires don't really get in the way too much in the car. They don't come with headphones but that's OK since I prefer to buy the better kids set anyway. They also don't have a battery but that's also OK with me since they are primarily for the car. They do have AC adapters for hotel rooms etc. and there is a little stand on the back that comes out so they can stay up when you're not in the car. The car mounting setup it comes with is made more for cars with broad, square headrests but you can criss-cross the straps and it stays just fine. I am able to open the device and change a disc while it's strapped up so I don't have to undo the mount to change the movie. Overall a great buy for the money and TOTALLY worth the peace in my car on long trips. :)

I have been looking at buying these for a year or more and thought i was getting them as a present for christmas last year. I didn't! So, i purchased them myself and do not regret it! They have a decent sound, but not loud enough to play over the radio in the front seat. We use wired headphones with them and it's better for everyone. I haven't tried to bluetooth any headphones yet. I know we drove 4hrs with them in the car without being able to play them because the batteries in the remotes were dead when i got them and so i couldnt' reach back to figure out how to play the movie. Just so you know, you have to hold the play button down. I would reduce the rating by 1 star because of the battery remotes, but these are really great devices and it is simple to change the battery.

I bought these as an “open box” and it said it had all pieces. It was missing a remote and the one remote only works for one of the DVD players so that was a bummer. Otherwise they work great and were easy for my kids to use. I also love that they have the option to watch the same or different movies. Definitely worth it for long drives!

Great product. Works great. You can use one movie on both screens or a separate movie per screen. Easy set up. Remotes have to be used with their specific screen/player. I wish this screen/player played Blu-Ray discs. My kids were very pleased with this purchase.
