Fortunately I had a tv with a VGA port in it. This cable was just what I needed as my work laptop's docking station had a VGA port in it when I was using the HDMI port for my monitor.

Boy, was I wrong! Going from the old style monitor cable to this HDMI adapter has opened a whole new visual for me! Awesome.

Part needed for future work

Found out the towers both needed hard drives and operating systems. The cable seemed to have worked within its specifications. Will find out later when I get what is needed to fix the towers.
