I am very happy with my new Insignia 17 cu ft garage ready convertible freezer. It is working well and has an abundance of space. I'm looking forward to filling it with all the goodies I make for the holidays to give to family and friends. I wish I didn't wait this long to buy an upright freezer.

Bought this because of the value, good reviews and open door alarm. Pros: Glass shelves, roomy, well lighted inside, temp control and lockout feature on outside of door, open door alarm. Cons: Only one gripe, but I think it’s important. The auto defrost feature has this thing going from my 5 degree setting up to 30-34 degrees every 48 hrs! I know this because I have a Level Sense wifi thermometer setup inside the freezer and it notifies me every time the temp goes above 24 degrees (bought because my kids were notorious for not shutting the door tight on my old one.). I thought this was a flaw of the freezer but saw in the Q&A this is designed this way to cycle warm air inside to prevent ice build-up. It pushes warm air through then re-freeses within an hour. So, everything inside gets condensation on it when it does this. I worry that my meat, ice cream, etc will get freezer burn. It seems like it wouldn’t be very efficient either running this way. Hate to go thru the hassle but I am probably going to return this and get a different brand.

I wish it had metal shelves versus glass shelves. I prefer glass for fridges and metal for freezers other than that I don't have any complaints. I love that it has drawers and shelves on the door. I love the digital aspect is very simple not over complicated.

After one month the freezer is holding temperature between -5 to 0 f consistently. The door seals are tight, it is quiet, and has plenty of room. It was a good purchase.

Haven't had any problems with it and I bought it almost a month ago. The only downside is how hard it is to open it, and I understand it's because its brand new, but it is a little annoying I need both hands to force it to open. Overall, does the job of keeping everything nice and frozen.

Smaller dimensions with larger capacity than our dead one. Can become a refrigerator though not sure I’d ever use it as that. Really good value too

This refrigerator/freezer is great. I got it to use as a refrigerator, and it is suited to the task. It has plenty of space, and cools great. I haven’t tested to see if the internal temperature matches the temperature set on the screen, but it seems to be as cold as you would expect.

I bought 2 of these for my garage. Most of the year I will use them both as freezers but I like having the option to change them over to refrigerators if the need arises. I switched the one to a refrigerator for overflow food during Christmas. I am so happy I decided to get these!!

This freezer does an amazing job — everything stays cold and frozen solid, just like Elsa planned it. ❄️ I never have to worry about my food thawing out; it’s like living in Arendelle year-round. The only small issue is the handle — if you don’t tighten it really well with the Allen wrench, it might pop off faster than Olaf in summer. Still, I love this freezer, and I’d happily “let it go” and buy it again.

We absolutely love this freezer! We replaced a small chest freezer and this upright is a game changer. We also love the fact that it will convert between refrigerator and freezer as needed. We have it in our garage and it keeps our food much colder than any other freezer I’ve ever owned. So happy with it, we ordered another for my home baking business. Now, our 14-year-old refrigerator freezer has died in the garage. We will be replacing it with our third insignia and use it as a full refrigerator.

This is a great freezer. I love the fact with a push of a button, it can convert to a refrigerated Very spacious in side and easy to organize frozen items. After we purchased it our refrigerator went out so it was perfect.

We ordered two of these--on is used as a refrigerator and the other as a freezer. They give us all the extra refrigerator and freezer space that we need after shopping in bulk. Great price for the amount of cubic feet that we are gaining. The only negative is that the door is not reversible.

I love the freezer. The drawer and shelves allow me to separate everything I have in there. The temperature control on the door lets me set the temp inside. I also like the it beeps when you open and close the door. It’ll also beep if you leave it open to remind you to close it. The stainless steel door allows me to write on it with white board markers to keep track of what is inside. Best decision to buy this freezer!

We absolutely love this freezer/refrigerator. The crew that came to install it in our garage were courteous and very knowledgeable. This holds a lot and we love the storage on the door for bagged items. When we run low on freezer items we will turn it back into a fridge during the holidays for all the extra guests. Easy push of the button on the front of the door for conversion. Highly, highly recommend!

This freezer has been a fantastic addition to our garage. It can operate as both a fridge or a freezer and has consistently maintained the appropriate temperature without any hassle. It took less than 10 minutes to setup and the quick freeze option worked like a charm. The LED display and external controls make controlling the temp super easy. Overall this has been a huge upgrade for our family and we couldn’t be more pleased.

This unit is freeze or fridge only. Which works for us as we have a deep freezer. Is has no water dispensing capabilities, which is wonderful since that is the first thing to break on any fridge. It makes a beeping noise when it opens and a dinging if opened for too long.

This is a great freezer. The shelves are spacious. The temperature is consistent.

I purchased two of these for my garage. One as a refrigerator and one as a freezer. We are 6 months in and overall the units are really nice. They maintain their temps and have a fair amount of storage space. The 3-star rating is for the quality of the units. I have had issues with the handles on both units. One, I was able to remedy myself. The other, the handle completely broke off. I contacted Insignia and was told this is a wear and tear issue and that it is not covered by the warranty. Really? After less than 6 months of use, it’s going to break. So, overall, the unit is good but don’t expect help from the manufacturer if you have an issue.
