Q: How is a freezer also a refrigerator?how does it work
A: On the front of the door, you select whether you want to use it as a refrigerator or freezer. It will automatically give the right temperature for the freezer or refrigerator. I think it’s great.
A: it defrosts during normal operation. You don't need to take out your food
A: I just got mine delivered yesterday and it is located in the garage. When I asked the salesman at the store, the first guy I talked to told me that it was not best to put it in the garage. When I went back, the salesman who placed my order (who also happened to be a manager in the department) told me that this model was able go in the garage because of some special coiling/insulation that is used on this particular model/brand. The guy that delivered my appliance yesterday told me that I should be good to go, especially since the fridge/freezer is sitting on a concrete platform in the garage (elevated above where our vehicles are resting before going into the house) which will protect it from getting wet.
Q: Can I use this in my garage in central Florida, the garage never gets over 90 degrees
A: Bought one for a daughter in Houston to and one for a daughter in lafayette la...both in their garages. No problems at all.
A: No. I, too, was was surprised that the condenser was so exposed.

Fantastic freezer for the price.
We purchased this freezer a year ago and couldnt be happier. We have the 17cubic foot and it holds so much food. Love the light inside and the door capacity is great.

Good Fridge
I really love that this can be either a refrigerator or a freezer depending on your setting. I was looking for a counter depth refrigerator for my kitchen and discovered these. I'm doing a kitchen remodel so I bought two because I can make room for them in my configuration. I have one set to refrigerator and one set to freezer. This has been working very well, the storage is excellent and without a lot of extra stuff in the way like a bulky ice maker or water dispenser. Also buying both was cheaper than buying most normal refrigerators. I bought the medium and the large sizes. It's worth knowing that on the large one you still get four shelves with two drawers. Obviously there's more space for each shelf but they don't add a fifth. Also the shelves on the door are fairly narrow, so if you are a super condiment person this might not work great for you. On the other hand I had many condiments I probably needed to do away with, so this does help keep you organized and slim down your collection. This review is for the medium one which I am using as a refrigerator. Since there are no dividers I ended up getting an aftermarket under drawer thing for my butter and cheeses. This way they stay organized and don't take up precious shelf space. See picture. The shelves themselves are 17 in deep by 26 in wide. I had the hardest time finding that when I was buying online so I figured I'd pass this on. The only slightly annoying thing is the fridge beeps every time you open it, I'd imagine this is useful if you had kids or something. It also beeps over and over if you leave it open too long. This is annoying when you have to clean it but a good reminder if it didn't close all the way. Be aware the doors are not reversible because they have the temperature controls on them, so they are wired in I have really enjoyed this product, it was perfect for what I wanted.
