    I purchased this refrigerator. It is way too big and bulky for a small apartment space...and its been making this weird noise. I tried to exchange it..but the sizes for top freezer units range from gigantic to midget size..nothing in between..and 70% of their stock is not available. This has been a Best Buy purchase Nightmare!!.

    This refrigerator looks great inside and out, but that's where the good things end. The plastic shelves in the door are cheap and one broke after a couple of months with the refrigerator. I tried to order a replacement, but it was out of stock for 4 months. After that I gave up. One year and one month into owning the refrigerator, the control board died. It's impossible to find parts for this refrigerator and Geek Squad charges double what a local repair company costs. Better buy the extended warranty if you are willing to take a chance on an Insignia product. I would suggest going name brand. At least you can get the parts you need.

    Functional flaws, but could’ve been a good unit

    Bought this as a replacement garage fridge, unfortunately didn’t work out. A few issues for the rating. - Temperature control just wasn’t sufficient (one morning everything was frozen, the next morning internal temp was 50). - the sides of the unit get so hot that you can barely touch. Not sure if mine was defective or just how it works by design, but it raised significant operating concerns for me. Not sure how it is energy star if it’s having to constantly overcome its own heat just an inch or two away. - poor door closure. In the 10 days that we had this, the door was partially closed overnight twice, causing us to have to toss some food items at one point as the unit shut off and went to self-protect mode. Overall, this could’ve been a good fridge as I love the design of the shelving and storage, however functional flaws prevented us from keeping it.

    Doors won't close & very dim LED light

    I purchased this Insignia fridge 2 days ago and it was delivered during the day. Delivery guys said to leave the doors closed to get cold enough before transferring food into the fridge. After many hours, it was night time & we opened the doors. The LED light is very dim that it difficult to see inside & even worse on the middle and bottom shelves, because the top shelf blocks what little light there is. Even worse, swinging the doors shut still will not close them... they stay open by a whole 12"... you have to slam the doors or push the doors closed all the way to close them. Swinging the doors closed with significant force won't do, and we came back to the door being open and stuff thawing. This was all from day 1 of delivery... VERY ANGRY!

    Not a great product

    This one has been disappointing. It started having problems within 2 years of delivery whereby it would not keep constant internal temp. That has grown to being worse over the last few months as the freezer compartment randomly just melts products and therefore is now useless. Out of fairness I will state that we placed it in our garage, so it is somewhat exposed to temperature variances. However I would have expected it to handle that based on wall insulation, and that similar products worked by others.

    I purchased this refrigerator a little over 3 years ago. It no longer cools and I had to throw out all the food that had spoiled. Estimated cost to repair: $1600-$1800!

    We bought this refrigerator and put it in our garage. Too bad it doesn’t state that when the outside temperature is below 50 degrees the compressor won’t operate. Everything in the freezer thawed out and the milk, orange juice and water froze in the refrigerator. We called for service and the technician said the new ones don’t work below 50 degrees and there’s nothing they could do to correct the problem. That info would have been nice to know when purchasing.

    Stopped working after a year

    I purchased my Insignia from Best Buy after a year it stopped cooling and freezing I phoned them because it was suppose to be under warranty but received the run around so I called insignia and they wouldn’t even honor their warranty because it was 3 days past when I brought it so now I have a fridge I can’t trust and will likely have to purchase a new one I definitely will NEVER purchase an insignia product again.

    Buy another refrigerator

    I purchased this refrigerator in May 2022 for my cabin. It is basic and is fine. However, we had a cold snap and the refrigerator froze all my food. I spent 3 hours trying to get it serviced. After talking to 4 different people it isn't resolved. I would not recommend buying this product.

    I will have to return this. I did not know this is a cheaper version of Samsung fridge. If the expensive version is defective, apparently this is even. As simple as the design is, it still leaks water. there's no ice maker which was my primary pain and headache with the Samsung fridge. Why would this leak? Best Buy pls STOP selling Samsung and Insignia appliances. It's a disservice to consumers!

    Piece of junk. Bought it…died after 3 yrs …seriously…a fridge dying after 3 years?? Fridges are not complicated to build…this tells me that quality control is nil with this brand. Never purchasing this brand again. Save your money and avoid this brand.

    3 years worked perfectly and then one morning the compressor died. Repair is the same as the price of the fridge.

    This refrigerator had to be replaced just after it was delivered. The replacement refrigerator also was defective, and it is being returned. Currently another refrigerator, same make, but different model, is being delivered on Wednesday January 26, 2022. I'm hoping for a different outcome.
