Got a pretty good deal as the item has only minor scratches and no dents. Bestbuy did give me a good percentage off. If you are an investor and looking for appliance purchase I would suggest shop in the bestbuy outlet. It will save you ton of money

Simple, plain vanilla refrig for church kitchen.

There is no temptation for button pushers to readjust and freeze the tomatoes or have ice cream running on the floor. The cost was well within our budget also.

This was the only 18 CU FT in town for $500. A review like this is better after 10 years to see if it still works, but then they may not make it so... Google says Insignia is the Best Buy Name made buy one of the few major appliances makers left.

The only issue that I had was the light did not work. This was an open-box purchase, so it was to be expected. Good thing I purchased the warranty.

One problem so far: the black side panels sometimes get very warm, possibly from the stove or electric kettle. This may be the cause of the freezer going into "overdrive" and producing a louder sound.

We did not notice any loud noise coming from the motor as mentioned in other reviews. Everything works as it should. The freezer freezes and the refrigerator keeps everything cold. It is perfect for the price.

Similar to other reviewers, it does make a noise when venting air, definitely sounds like Chewbacca. I would buy this again.

Decent fridge

Only issue is that the gaskets are stiff and when when you close one door, the other pops open. We put a child safety lock on the freezer and leveled it so the fridge tips back a bit. Hopefully that will help.
