I purchased this speaker as I had limited space for it to fit. Set up was fairly easy once I had run the cables through the shelving. After linking the speaker to my Vizio TV using the optical cable option, (cable not provided) I found you had to use the speaker remote to raise and lower the volume plus you can only turn the speaker on or off by using the speaker remote. The Vizio TV remote would not raise or lower the volume. So your stuck using two remotes. Sound was okay, better than the Vizio speakers but not anything to write home about. On 11/26/20 the remote failed to turn the speaker on. I tried a new set of batteries, but same result, speaker would not turn on. I had to manually turn on the speaker. The speaker came on but without the remote you can't adjust the volume. After researching this issue, I found numerous complaints on the Best Buy website about the remote failing. I called customer support and was informed that I had two options. Return the speaker to Best Buy and get a replacement of the same product or get my money refunded after returning the speaker to Best Buy. So, it's going back to Best Buy for a refund. Don't waste you time and money on this. For those for whom this works good for you. For me I have to drive across the county to nearest store to return it. The hunt for a mini sound bar begins again.

I comprehend that this is very frustrating situation. Due to you are using the optical cable it is more likely a configuration with the connection.
